Like ‘em all. Masten has replaced Braddd Dalziell in the latest iteration of my team. Banner is on my bench. And Shuey, Barlow and Jetta are all fighting it out for my second midfield bench spot. Will continue to watch all of them over the coming weeks.
Well I may just have to change the name of my team as my current selection bears no resemblance to the original. My head is spinning. I must remind myself (and in so doing, remind you) that this is just the preseason and can be terribly misleading as to how the season proper will pan out. Every single preseason, I (and I dare say, you) get carried away with good performances and discouraged by poor ones, only to find that when the real stuff starts, champion preseasoners go into hiding and unknowns rocket in from nowhere. And then there’s the coaches and selection panels who dash our careful and time-consuming plans by leaving out our star recruits, leaving us the unenviable task of rejigging our structures (and thus, reshaping our entire season’s hopes) as the SC servers melt down.
Q: Why do we put ourselves though it?
A: We love the pain. We love the struggle. We love the glory. We love to piss and moan about the former and boast about the latter.
May your pain lead to growth and you revel in the smallest of glories.
