  1. Dyson Heppel is a gun. Adam goodes is an absolute champion. Tommy Walsh isnt the great pick up that the media think…..can see why the saints were non fussed to let him go.

  2. Hey SCT coaches,
I know it’s risky and i’ll probably cop some flak for it but i’d love to know what everyone thinks about Courtenay Dempsey. I know he is coming off a serious knee injury but Lake and Hargraeve are both coming off there own troubles as well. He seems to be running around the Essendon half-back line picking up kicks at will. He is cheaper than both Lake and Hargrave at $273,000 and just might be the cash cow that sneaks under everyone elses radar.

Thumbs Up – Worth a punt, looks good at this stage.
Thumbs Down – Better off with Lake or Hargrave.

    Cheers.

  3. Brent Harvey; (Roos) $548,000/2012 avg 101.1
Despite his age and size, the 33yr old 172cm former captain continues to punch above his weight by breaking the lines and drilling goals. Works harder than an 8yr old Korean boy at a Nike shoe factory (2nd for Roos in disposals) who loves to go forward as opportunistic goal sneak. (3rd for NM for goals).
Without the captain pressures on his shoulders, he’ll be free to focus on being a much more devastating match winner.

  4. Jobe is tearing it up and has the unbelievable stat of 100% kicking efficiency. Ryder looks like he could be the main target up forward this year and has kicked 4. Zaha has only really played a half so stats look poor but has been important in the last quarter. Stanton will be good again but shocking efficiency. And the bombers win….

  5. Jobe Watson – 27 disposals, 11 kicks, 16 handballs, 100% kicking efficiency, 4 tackles, 2 Frees For, 2 goals.

3 words – Get. On. Him.

  6. Taylor Walker’s haircut indicates to me he could be one of the dumbest players to give the game a crack since Danny Southern. #sorryPA #fact

  7. Who’s going to win the Newmarket torrow? Will hay list show he is the 2nd best sprinter in the world or will a light weight hope be coming over the top of him on the line?
By the way….herald sun ratings are up the creek…have buffering rated above hay list. I know he gets weight relief but come on.

  8. The rumour that swept the football world over the last 2 weeks was that Dane Swan had incurred his third strike under the AFL’s Illicit Drug Policy. It was all over Twitter and all over online AFL forums. Collingwood captain, Nick Maxwell, laughed off the claims after speaking to Swan.

Here’s the story as it was told to me by a very, very good source:
On Australia Day this year the winners of this competition had around 30 family and friends over at their house for a BBQ waiting for Dane Swan to arrive. Obviously there was excitement and anticipation in the air because of the impending presence of the reigning Brownlow Medallist.

But that excitement turned to despair when he turned up obviously under the influence of more than just alcohol. He was rude to people at the BBQ and eventually had to be asked to leave by the man of the house.

Following this incident, that man placed an angry call to the Collingwood football club who were extremely apologetic.

I’m not saying the 2 events are related but a week later Swan was reportedly dropped from the leadership group. In an article in the Herald Sun he claimed he “opted out of the club’s leadership group this year because it didn’t suit his personality, and that he prefers to be a leader on the field rather than in team meetings”. Personally, I think that’s rubbish.

  9. Who gets your vote between to two young GWS backmen in Bugg & Darley?
And Hay List is as certain as Robbo is to be the only bloke who can look like a hobbo in a suit…!

  10. I’ll tell what’s rubbish… Hear say and innuendo from people that aren’t in the inner sanctum of an AFL club, probably any football club!

Football clubs all over the country suffer from ridicule from people in ther respective towns who don’t understand or don’t like the camaraderie footballers feel as a group. So they take pot shots or cling on to Hal a story they heard from a friend of a friend. When it’s the AFL it is of course compounded within media, both social and otherwise.

Dane Swan may or may not have partaken in such activities in the past, but unless you have seen him do it first hand, my tip is hush. And even if you may have seen a footballer do something that may incur ridicule, either warranted or not, my tip again is…hush. Who wins by joining in on such gossip?

  11. Just wondering how many people were getting midpricers? If so how many?
I’m undecided on whether or not to go gun/rookie or some/ a few midpricers so some thoughts would help.

Thumbs up – Midpricers are the way to go
Thumbs down – Wouldn’t even bother

  12. Alex Sexton: (Suns) $106,600/Ht-185cm Wt-71kgs
Won the Alan McLean medal at the 2010 NAB AFL under 16 championships. Runs like Black Cavier on a diet of hay and crack. Has fine ball skills and is good under pressure.

  13. One more, you say?

Dustin Martin: (Tigers) $536,200/2012 avg: 98.81
No second year blues for this young superstar in the making. Dusty played every game in 2011 and finished 3rd in the B & F. Collects possessions like Yumi Stynes collects Facebook threats. Likes to kick through the big sticks (33 goals last year) and there is still plenty of improvement for this 20 yr old which should scare all opposition sides.

  14. Never heard of sexton motts, will he get regulary game time?

Also I am considering reshuffelling my midfield premiums I currently have Ablett, Mitchell, thompsan and bartel, but am thinking of changing Thompson after a less than impressive preseason.
    Thumbs up keep Thomson
Thumbs down swap or someone like selwood/around 600 000 or less

  24. Well done to the Eagles on their win last night, needless to say but I shall be baracking for them next week against the Crows.

I do hope my daughter appreciated her first game winning at the cats home ground and all ( still miffed I didn’t put money on that!) -told them they’ll have to bring us every week and the tiges might make the top 8!

So we took the ferry over and that took 1.5hrs from our place, and then we drove home on advice from a friend “oh they will sleep in the car” YEAH RIGHT. 3hrs later and one massive headache, we’re home.

Any news on the injury front? I’d imagine magner won’t be in for rd1- what happened to buddy?

  26. I may be crazy, but what about Maric as second ruck to Cox?? He had 22 hit outs yday, he is number 1 ruck at tiges now with angus on the outer, no one really to steal points off him, he’s aggressive and, moves well around the ground, is cheap because of limited opportunities last year, watching yesterday tiges were looking to use him more around the ground in links to goal, and switch to a new club could be what he needs…thoughts?

  27. Nic Nat last night? Thoughts?

He was subbed off for a quarter i think. He wasn’t that dominant, but scored 91 (according to fantasyfreakotwitter). This has to be a good sign.

    thoughts?
