Motts Movers R4 – The Forwards

Written by Motts on 10:34 am, April 21 2011

Colin Sylvia ($428,200, 101, 87) – The only smudge on Col’s 101 average is that the Dees have played Brisbane and the Gold Coast in their first 4 games. Having said that, the other two were against a good defensive team, Sydney (114), and the Hawks. His price hasn’t yet risen so if you’re keen, get on after this round. That is, of course, if you think he’ll break his 87 BE against the Weagles in Perth next round.

Chris Yarran ($366,900, 90.50, 33) – OK so the opening round 32 against Richmond wasn’t flash.

The Vice Captaincy

Written by Motts on 5:38 pm, April 20 2011

So we know the vice captaincy loophole works in split rounds. So you’d be flat out dumb not to even try to give yourself an advantage by giving it a crack. So who will you VC this week?

Motts Movers R4 – The Backs

The Beatles

Dyson Heppell ($267,500, 91.5, -13) – Almost 200,000 coaches have D-Hep in their team so if you’re one of the ones that are a little slow on the uptake, get on him now. He’s one of them handy DPP’s, even though he has a tough game this week his price will go up even further, and he has a very becoming blond mop. There’s only one problem with him: he won’t play in the Grand Final for you meaning that eventually you’re going to have to trade him. Until then though, enjoy the ride!

Motts Movers R4 – The Rucks

Written by Motts on 8:37 pm, April 19 2011

Brad Ottens ($416, 500, 116.50, 22) – I’m naming this guy through gritted teeth given BS drafted him in last week. Can’t argue with his numbers though: 105, 101, 129, & 131. Scarily it appears as though he’s getting better. He had 34 hitouts against The Mummy last week and also finds time to slot them in the forward line when he’s not in the middle. Looks to be the archetypal ruckman that has benefitted from the new rules. Good luck to him. Not.

Shane Mumford ($469,700, 113.75, 74) – Watching Mummy play in R4 I was struck with just how much he enjoys the game.

Da Bombs

Nat Fyfe ($417,800, 117.25, -20) – Why didn’t I pick Avatar instead of McGlynn?? (Why didn’t I pick any other M/F DPP instead of McGlynn!) Nathaniel has only missed the ton once this year (when the stingy Cats came to town) but other than that he’s scored 117, 139, and then Sunday’s huge 164 against the hapless Roos. He’s avoided the second year dip, improving markedly on his 2010 average of 72.5. His price will go up again this week with a big negative BE but you may want to avoid him because of Freo’s R6 bye.

BS Rookie Review Round 4

Written by Big Sexy on 6:30 am, April 19 2011

As it’s a Bye week and trades will be limited, the Rook Review is not as comprehensive as I would like…. but hey….

My Top Five Rookie’s (<$200k) of the week:
1) M Coad (Def 123k) Many Supercoachers jumped on Coady in the pre-season, and with good reason. In Supercoach terms, you can’t go past mature-age recruits and this 27yo is one to grab on before his price goes through the roof. His first two game saw him get 20 and 14 disposals respectively. Coad scored 80 on the weekend in a ‘solid’ performance in a very poor team.

The Great Draw Debate

Written by Duck on 1:51 pm, April 18 2011

Another draw makes it 3 times in 4 weeks! Reading the Herald Sun last night i see there’s been debate circulating on whether or not the draws should be abolished in favour of extra time or golden goal so i thought i’d open it up to our knowledgeable and oppinionated readers for your comment.

What say you?
