Motts Movers R2 – The Forwards

Written by Motts on 8:12 am, April 9 2010

Rounding out this week’s edition of the Movers is the frontline. First up are the fellas who have had their colours lowered over the last fortnight.

Kurt Tippett ($425,900, 39.50) – Kurt was unceremoniously dumped from The Maulers this morning after his appalling start to the season. Word from the club is that he has knee tendonitis. Why didn’t I hear about this in the preseason when I drafted him in? Should be a super player one day but just doesn’t seem ready yet.

Brendan Fevola ($495,700, 51.00) – We knew it would take time for Fev to settle into the forward structure at Brisbane but while Jono has gone about business as usual,

Motts Movers R2 – The Rucks

I only nominate 2 blokes in each category here because of the reduced amount of onfield positions. This is one of the weeks where I wish I could nominate more.

The brickbats:

Darren Jolly ($493,200, 35.00) – I must have had every Collingwood supporter I know in my ear pre-season telling me how Jolly was a champion, that he was dominating intraclub hitouts, and that he scored almost 200 in a game last year. Haven’t heard much from them lately.

Dean Cox ($590,000, 45.50) – If you signed this bloke up at the start of the year thinking he’d kick if off like he did in 2009 you would be bitterly disappointed.

Motts Movers R2 – The Mids

Written by Motts on 7:58 pm, April 7 2010

OK lets start with the blokes who are dragging the chain:

Tom Scully ($179,200, 42.00) – ok I admit this could be a little controversial considering he’s only ever played 2 games of league football but his peers are all averaging over 50 and he was the #1 draft pick! He costs more than any other rookie – when you pay that kind of coin you expect a better output.

Andrew Walker ($268,700, 54.50) – The #2 pick of 2003 (behind A Cooney) looked shredded in the pre-season after training away from the main group for disciplinary reasons but while Coon has won a Chas and is dominating,
