Gia v Stevie J

Both are small-ish forwards with great skills who push up. They play for good teams who ensure a constant supply but who would you pick first?

Motts Movers R9 – The Forwards

J Roughead ($423,700 $+37,400 ($+2,100), 82.22) – With a last 3 round average of 107.33, the Orange Roughie is back up and about. Should smash his way through a 62 BE this week against the Swans at home meaning his price will be heading northward.

L Franklin ($509,400 $+19,400 ($+42,700), 102.50) – I couldn’t mention The Rough without throwing some recognition the way of Bud Lite. Started the year off slowly but over the last 3 rounds he’s averaged 114.67 (!). Its no wonder the Hawks are winning games again with Bud & Rough looking once more like the fearsome twin towers that took them to the ’08 flag.

Motts Movers R9 – The Mids

M Boyd ($527,900 $-14,900 ($-24,700), 111.0) – He’s a premium that doesn’t get the same recognition as others but make no mistake: he IS a premium. In the 7 rounds he’s played this year so far he’s only missed the ton once – the week after he came back from injury. Take that outlier out and his average is a whopping 119. Players with that kind of average don’t often get this cheap.

J Bartel ($514,200 $-1,200 ($-64,200), 109.56) – And speaking of cheap….. A 76 that Jimmy had against Sydney a couple of weeks ago has wreaked (wrought?) havoc with his price.

Motts Movers R9 – The Rucks

D Hille ($412,400 $+42,500 ($+101,100), 152) – Do you know how much I wish this guy got suspended last week? It probably would’ve been the difference in the game I lost in my primary league. Grrrrrr. 152 and 111 over the last 2 weeks. With the rumour that Nic Nat may get rested soon you may want to consider him but I’d consider that a sideways trade. Me, I’d be looking at…..

D Cox ($512,700 $+14,700 ($-77,300), 107) – Bottomed out at $474k so you haven’t missed it by that much and with his last 3 rounds producing an average of 112.67 its clear he’s back to his best.

Random Thoughts

Written by Motts on 2:55 pm, May 26 2010

Has anyone ever noticed how the green handles that hang from Melbourne trams that you use so as not to fall into people’s laps look a hell of a lot like the Fremantle anchor?

And while I’m on the Fremantle anchor, does anyone else think that the two inflatable anchors they put up on the roof of Subi for Freo home games look really, really phallic?
