Pavlich v Goodes

Written by Motts on February 11 2012

Fresh off smashing Boomer in a 1-on-1 match-up, we put Pav up against the silky Adam Goodes. We’re going to assume you’ve already read Pav’s bio below (and if you haven’t, just let your eyes wander down the page a bit).

Adam Goodes – Co-captain of the Swans, 32 years old, SC average since 2005: 107.8, has missed 3 games in that time (in 2008), finished last year scoring 113, 109, 172, 119 & 101 between R22 and the Swans’ semi-final. In the past tended to start seasons slowly but by R10 last year he already had 5 tons under his belt. Wears his socks way too high but who cares when he plays all over the ground and scores the way he does.

Who do you think will score higher in 2012?

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

  1. Not related to this post and yes, I just want to have a soap box moment but the SC website feels slower and more cumbersome than last year!

  2. BigRuss thoroughly enjoys pavlova. Smooth and crunchy at the same time. But Goodes is probably the best indigenous bloke to ever play the game, and that is quite an achievement.

  3. I like your thinking Nic nat. I think ill gO both. If I HAD to choose one, I’ll go goodes only because of an easier run

  4. Goodes till I see what the “plan” is out at Freo land. If Pav stays home and has less midfield time then defintiely Goodes.

  5. Wait till the nab cup starts and watch it all lite
Up!! The calm before the storm. 6 days to go and then it’s all about zorko, blee, mohr, Adams, pfiefer, witts, shiel and so on. Supercoach talk will go to meltdown. Motts, any chance zorko will play nab and your thoughts on Mitchell playing round 1.

  6. At the moment I have both Goodes and Pav in the forward line, I’ve pushed out Dusty reason being these 2 dudes will be more consistent and are in better sides

  7. kenpiz I’ve heard zorko will play nab and Mitchell will be fit for round one. I personally can’t see him being picked without playing a practice match first

  8. If Pav is played in the Fwd line rather than the Mids, Pav will win. If the scenario is reversed (Goodes is playing in the Mids rather than Fwd), Goodes will win. If Goodes is playing Mid and Pav is playing Fwd, just get ’em both ! 🙂

  10. Going for Pav at this stage. Was worried about his permanent forward role but after some good tips on here (Cheers D Mac I think it was) and a bit of research realised he is actually better value for SC as a forward.

Keeping Goodes on the radar for an upgrade in RD 13. Check out his first half VS second half of the year stats for the last four years.
