Forget what you know about Supercoach for a second. Forget about the scoring system. Forget about disposal efficiency or contested possessions or clangers & clearances. What matters at PlayON with their brand new AFL Fantasy Games are possessions……..and lots of them!
While the Champions like Dangerfield, Dusty Martin & Tom Mitchell will continue to dominate regardless of the competition, it’s the forgotten possession-getters like Andrew Gaff, Jack Steven, Ollie Wines & Dylan Shiel who become crucial in PlayON Fantasy Games. I’m reminded of the wise words from a random old guy who was playing water-boy against me (long time ago): ‘Ya can’t get hurt if ya don’t go in’…….completely threw me off my game……well played, old man…..well played 😉 Points system is as follows:
Free kick for 15
Free kick against -30
PlayON are the official Fantasy Partner of the NBA and are now branching out into AFL. There are numerous games available over the weekend at a range of different prices. Most importantly are the GUARANTEED $2000 Prize Pools available every day over Rd1. If the game has the maximum of 100 entrants then the payout will be for the Top20 places. Anything short of that, then you get a payout for a Top10 finish. (You can check out the pay structure under ‘Game Info’).
One thing to keep in mind are the qualifiers for the $100k SuperContest that takes place in August. You can win a ticket into that (unbelievable) contest across all Rounds of footy in the lead-up. By signing up through SCT-link, you’ll also receive a free $22 entry ticket when you deposit $20 or more. You’re welcome 😉 Now onto the big Friday night game………
Star: Rory Laird (ADE), $15.4M – Played every game plus Finals in 2017. In that time, Laird only went under 25 possessions on four occasions. Averaged 30 touches and five marks across 25 games last season. Reliable as he is durable and worth every penny as your star defender.
Smokey: Tom Doedee (ADE), $5.8M – Will be making his debut at age 21 on Friday night. Slots straight into the spot left vacant by Jake Lever. Collected 16 touches during a recent pre-season match and represents great vale at that price……….
Don’t Touch: Brodie Smith (ADE), $13.1M – Recovering from a knee reconstruction late last season and is in no danger of playing here. Use the $13M elsewhere 😉
Star: Zach Merrett (ESS), $17.4M – Has averaged 30 disposals and six tackles over the last two seasons and no reason that can’t continue on here. Last two games against Adelaide have seen Merrett collect 35 & 31 touches respectively. Should give you his moneys worth!
Smokey: Darcy Fogarty (ADE), $7.9M – Another rookie that has been getting big wraps in Supercoach circles. Looks like he’ll be in the side as long as Taylor Walker is missing. Can play forward or midfield and should justify his place in the side. Good value at that price.
Don’t Touch: David Myers (ESS), $11.0M – Has been ruled out for the weekend through injury. Even if he was playing, you couldn’t justify spending $11M on him 😉
TOMORROW – RUCKs & FWDs
