Poll – Best FWDs

Written by Schwarzwalder on April 12 2019

‘Danger plus five’ still seems right……..the five have probably chopped and changed a bit though.  Have your ideal forwards changed at all over the first three weeks of the season?  Who are you looking to bring into your forward line by the end of the season?  (Players in order of current avg)

Which six FWDs are you aiming to have in your side by seasons end? (six choices)

  1. How sustainable can 4 geelong forwards be together looking season long? Too risky if geelong have a bad game? Feel like it is only going to pay off when they are balling like right now

    1. Danger and Tim Kelly will score either way.

Agree that Dahl and Mena 100% benefit from Geelong winning. However in saying that they aren’t fringe players. They are players who go along way to helping Geelong win. Therefor looking at Geelong’s wins may be a little bit flawed although a logical point to raise.

    1. I’d say yes if it was for Top 10 FWDs. I don’t think he’s Top 6 though. He’s had an average start to the year.

Still keep him if you have him.

  2. Got no idea on this line.

Danger, Kelly and Heeney look bankable.

No doubting Boak has started well, but unclear if he can sustain it.

Menegola and Gray have been there before, but their roles are always up for debate.

Then you’ve got a bunch of mid-pricers who may or may not keep pumping out good scores, some perpetual “almost top 6” types, and the key forwards who could still get there if they can pump out their big scores as the season rolls on.

Depending on rookie performances, I suspect the forward line might be the last one I get to upgrading.

  3. Danger, Heeney, Kelly and. Boak were easy top 4 choices for me and then I struggled. I think Worpel (I underrated him pre-season) and Jack Martin could be sneaky chances to make the top 6, but the 2 cats boys and Grey could have something to say about that. Will be very interesting how this plays out.

  4. I voted Cameron … only because I can only remember one year (2015) when there wasn’t a Key Forward finishing in the Top 6.

  5. No one is considering the WCE forwards ? I reckon with Gaff back and firing, they’ll get plenty of ammunition from their mid . WCE for me looks like the team to beat this year and their forwards generally do the goal scoring : They may dish the 75 but also the 150. Darling and Kennedy in the mix post byes

  6. I’m still holding out hope for Greene to finish top 6 (avg)
