Poll – Brodie vs Marty D6

Written by Schwarzwalder on June 13 2019

Brodie Smith (ADE) & Marty Hore (MEL) were popular choices at the start of the season and have performed quite well in defence.  Many Coaches are now asking whether it’s worth using a trade to upgrade these fellas or just holding onto them at D6.  What would you recommend to said Coaches?  Hold at D6 or upgrade at the next opportunity?

What would you ideally like to do with Smith or Hore?

If you had to keep one DEF at D6 for the remainder of the season, would it be..........?

  1. They would act like Walsh to me. I will treat them as one of my last upgrades but only upgrade them if i feel i have enough trades and the player they are upgraded too are worth it. Going for someone like Crisp seems like a waste but if it were Whitfield/Hurn i would likely trade them

  2. I had both. Trading out B.Smith and Keeping Hore as D6 for the time being. Reasoning is as follows.

I will have 19 players on field in R13 even if I leave Hore on the bench and trade out B.Smith. Hore is more valuable to me in R14 where I only have 17 players (before trades)

Also, Smith’s BE is 102, he is likely to fall below 400k in the upcoming weeks. Hore’s BE is 39, likely to be around 450k in a few weeks time. Will be easier on the bank if I chose to upgrade Hore in a few weeks time as a luxury trade.

    1. Im looking at Walsh and Hore as cash in the bank earning pts until last upgrades before finals. No need to trade them now and risk burning a trade if an uber gets injured.

  3. I still have both + duursma, in an ideal world I’d love to keep both as d6/d7 and possibly upgrade 1 come finals. Either way they’ll be my last upgrades as my backline is the least of my worries!
