Poll – Dangerous Times

Written by Schwarzwalder on May 18 2018

Slats asked about this one in the Polling Station on Monday and there are plenty of Coaches contemplating the same question.  Is it the right time to bring in Patrick Dangerfield?  Especially given that he plays Essendon, Carlton & Gold Coast over the next three weeks?  Most Coaches started without Dangerfield this season yet he’s still managed a 115 avg even with limited midfield time.  After a 130+ against Collingwood last Sunday, plenty of Coaches have been doing the math to try fitting Dangerfield into their teams.  Should we be going all out this week to get Danger in?   Or can it wait a little longer?

Is now the right time to bring in Dangerfield?

  1. currently tossing up between bringing in Danger or Oliver for this weeks trade.
Ultimately those 2 will/should be the last 2 mid upgrade i need baring any injury

      1. Oliver’s b/e is 75, Danger’s 119. Therefore Oliver more likely to increase more in price. Get Oliver now.

        1. If you have two mid upgrades to go and go OLIVER now is it worth trading out T Kelly to get Danger in before the byes?

  2. It isnt about dropping in price its about if he will hold it or rocket away. I think you can wait a week safely but 2 weeks might be a dangerous 😉 choice.

  3. Was considering going Danger for Brayshaw and basically completing my mid (besides T Kelly upgrade).

But that leaves too big a hole in my defence, so it will have to wait unfortunately. Having Danger in the team also looks very ugly for r14 bye.

  4. Looking to get Danger next week from either Brayshaw (freo) or Holman, and downgrade the other to Phillips this week

Who will make more money this week?
    TU: Brayshaw (BE: 42)
    TD: Holman (BE: 44)

    Thanks

  5. I have only 2 spots left in my midfield to upgrade and I know danger will fill one of those by year end whereas i dont know who the other will be (oliver, macrae, etc) So im just going to pull trigger on danger this week and hope he goes nuts against the bombers. I dont think he’ll drop significantly from this price so whats the point in waiting.

  6. Dangerfield is more of a luxury trade for mine, as I have big problems with petracca, Finlayson is at his max as well as doedee and Murray.
My current m8 is T.Kelly and Dangerfield is not blowing him out of the water just yet so it would be greedy to chase him right now personally, also considering his troublesome bye I need to look at re-structuring my rookies as well (mid/fwd DPP) as well as bringing him in .

  7. I’m gonna wait. Already have Macrae and Oliver. Kelly is my only rookie on the field and I figure his price increases will at least match Danger’s through these comparatively ‘easy’ fixtures. Danger only needs one low-100s score to go price-static again for a couple more weeks.
Will be assessing on a weekly basis tho’. Just in case. He does go NUTS!

  8. Planning to bring him in this week. Not sure he will go nuts but think he is a solid pickup and suits my upgrades this week.

Btw I did consider Yeo but his horrendous record vHFC led me to wait until after his bye.

  9. Jester.

I think you will find Yeo scored poorly against the Hawks when mainly playing in defence. The Eagles were thin on defenders the last few years. Their back line seems much more settled now with Hurn in good form.
With Shue out he is named on ball. I can’t see him dropping under 100 playing the whole game in the midfield.

I traded him in this week for Naughton.
