Poll – Hurley Or Yeo?

Written by Schwarzwalder on May 9 2018

Liam asked the question in the Polling Station on Monday and it’s one that needs an answer before Friday.

Hurley and Yeo were widely tipped to be Top6 DEFs for the season and nothing seems to have changed till now.  Imagine for a second that you have neither of these guys in your side right now………. Which one would you bring in first?  Hurley is about $15k more expensive at the minute but that’s not much money to be arguing about.  So who is top priority?  Hurley or Yeo?

  1. What are everyone’s thoughts on Jack Darling? Averaging 99 with a score in the 40’s in there, playing for a very good side that I can’t see dropping off, in ripping form as he is 3rd in the Coleman, and apart from that score in the 40’s previously mentioned, has been very consistent. Add to that an ownership percentage of less than 2%, and I’m strongly considering him!

The only downside I can see is that it might be a purple patch and drop-off, but unless someone can give me some solid reasoning outside of “he hasn’t been this good before” I’ll probably get him in this week.

    1. So according to the thumbs down, this is a terrible idea. Not saying it’s a fool-proof plan to get him in, but would love to hear an argument against it!

      1. I’ll answer it for you. When JJK gets back to full fitness he will take a big chunk of Darlings points.

  2. Hurley is my preferred bye option but Yeo got my tick.
Second to Laird on averages (114) if you take his stinker out of the equation. While I know everyone would look better if you did the same, I have read on here more than once that he had to play a specific and unfamiliar role that game, so is it a stinker at all?

    1. I tend to ignore the best and worst score when evaluating players.

Not a good idea to do one but not the other though.

  3. Would one consider Siciliy?

Or is that wishful thinking given that he will likely miss more games this year due to his shenanigans.

    1. I think if you have good bench cover, if he continues scoring like this it more than makes up for a potential week off

  4. I say this as a supporter – I can’t see Essendon’s defensive line getting any less busy this season. Hurls is going to see a lot of the footy.

  5. Wait on Hurley with Daniher out, see how Hooker moving forward effects (affects? Idk how to English, leave me alone) his scoring

    1. Hooker played forward all of 2017 and for the first 3 rounds in 2018 and hurley was consistently scoring over 100 in both these periods.

  6. Don’t have either but Yeo coming in this week and Hurley within next 2 up/downgrades.Mids set for a while and Fwds next upgrade.

  7. I’m concerned about the blow torch coming down on the bombers and they might start ‘trying’ things. Always a worry for a KPP.
