Poll – MID PODs

Written by Schwarzwalder on May 16 2018

Matt asked us to look at the best Points Of Difference in every position at the Polling Station last Monday.  Very interesting proposition especially if you’re looking for something different from the pack.  I’ve decided to skip on the Rucks, considering that Gawn & Grundy are over 20+ pts (on average) better than the next Ruckmen.  Next up are the Midfielders………..

I’ve classified ‘POD’ as any player that is in under 7% of all teams.  The following players are listed in order of total pts till now.  Who do you see as the best midfield PODs?

Who are the best midfield PODs? (three choices)

  1. These guys all are under 2% ownership and have the potential to Average 105+ for the rest of the season

Personally I only have one midfield spot left for Danger.

Hoping I can afford Danger and keep T Kelly as my M9.

Why would you trade a fit player averaging nearly 100?

Then I can loophole him with Cogs and Parker in the later rounds and have very solid cover.

    1. hoping to keep him too.
Also looking at Zorko after RD13 and Rockliff at M9/10 as bye cover if he goes well again in China this week.

      1. Same here.
Brought Zorko in last week as my M8/M9 to loop with T Kelly after the byes.

Hoping to bring in Danger after the byes if funds permit but bigger priorities such as bringing in Ryder for Lycett in Rd11 and upgrading Guelfi, Fritsch and Ronke for R Gray, D Mundy and M Walters between Rd11 and Rd16 thus allowing Billings to be looped with one of D Smith/D Mundy/M Walters.

        1. When you own Wines you will be one of the most frustrated coaches going around, the guy’s kicking ability is horrible.

  2. Of the above options in the poll I think J Selwood would be the best one post byes.

    J Selwood:
    Post Bye Avg since 2011: 115.07 from 72 (19/72 below 100, 37/72 120+)

  3. Rocky had 9 tackles, the most since he did his shoulder last year. He was avg 123 the highest in the game at the time. Yet hardly tackled since, if he follows it up with another 9+ tackles safe to say he is back. Ill be jumping on, as so cheap great bench cover/loop for those playing taggers like Jacobs.
