Poll – Replacing Sandilands

Written by Schwarzwalder on July 3 2017

Here we are, Coaches………..After numerous polls regarding Sandilands and the extent of his injury, we’re already looking for his replacement.  What started as a 1-2 week ‘hamstring strain’ turned into a five week hamstring tendon injury.  Upon his return on Sunday, Sandi couldn’t even see out the first quarter and has already been put on ice for the rest of the 2017 season.

Nearly a quarter of all Coaches still had Sandi in their teams before Rd15.  So who best to replace him with?  Which two Ruckmen would you most like to see in your line-up over the last eight weeks (regardless of your current line-up)?

Best replacement for Sandilands over the last eight weeks? (two choices)

        1. I don’t have Sandi, but will be bringing in Stef Martin for SSelwood or Powell-Pepper via a series of moves (Greenwood to the mids and Nank to the forwards).

  1. I personally think Kruze will outscore Gawn and Stef for the rest of the year, just very hard to bring him in at that price!

  2. 3 votes for ‘someone else I’ve named in comments’ yet I can’t see any unique options being bandied about in the comments. Hmmm….

    1. I’m either swinging Nank into the ruck or am even considering Darcey to free up some emergency dollars.

  3. Thinking of swinging the Nank into R2, have Stef Martin as R1, Greenwood comes on as F6 to replace the Nank, then maybe wait a week, see how big Maxy goes this week with all the Demons injuries, the Kruz might even come down in price over the next few rounds??

  4. Probably best to stay away from Goldy at this point with so much talk going around in the media about him being dropped for preuss.

    1. Crazy talk.

The media are trying to stir-up a trade.

So far Goldy has said he’s staying and, apart from a slow start to the season, has been playing as consistently as the last 3 years, imo.

      1. I doubt that both he and Preuss will be at North Melbourne next year – one of them will likely request a trade at the end of the season. I’m hoping that it’s Preuss, because I’d love to have him at Carlton.

In any case, Goldstein’s scoring is not what it once was.

    1. I was going to suggest the same thing. Sandilands’ price-drop resulting from his 12 hast meant that I can’t afford Gawn, so I’m going to have to find someone cheaper – and they don’t come much cheaper than Darcy. The fact that Ross Lyon has openly stated that he prefers to play just one ruckman is reassuring, too.

    2. I was thinking the same think Matteo, he scored 99 on the weekend and Im sure he will have lower scores moving forward but he might get 100+ as well.

for his price and his security can we use Sandi’s cash elsewehere

    1. If I still had sandy Id be choosing out of ryder and gawn. Ryder looks like his about hit top gear.

      1. I have Ryder and he’s been going well enough.
Darcy is a good option if you have spare trades. Lots of cash to strengthen your team elsewhere and he seems like can get a decent score himself.

  5. Got Preuss as R3. 7 trades left (6 after Stewart to Witherden)

What’s peoples thoughts on Preuss to Sean Darcy to pocket 140K and hopefully have a great scoring back up + cash generator for R3

Thumbs UP: Yep, Preuss won’t play again

Thumbs DOWN: Nah, Darcy no certainty to keep spot and Preuss just as likely to play.
