Poll – Replacing Walters

Written by Schwarzwalder on August 13 2018

Owned by 10% of all Coaches, Walters was five minutes away from finishing the game against Carlton before his hammy went PING!  Now imagine for a second that you actually have a trade up your sleeve but not much cash in hand.  Which players under $450k would be the best replacements for Walters? (Popular choices such as Heeney, McLean, Westhoff & R.Gray have been omitted……they are already in most teams).

Who is the best value replacement for Michael Walters (FRE)? (Three choices)

    1. Billy Frampton set to debut for Port and take Ruck duties.

Not in the Poll, but anyway considering Lambert put a fork in him as he has been ruled out of the last 2 Rounds by the Tigers after undergoing surgery for a minor ankle injury.

  1. I know he’s just over $450K but I would roll with Jade Gresham.

St Kilda play North in the GF and North have a history of conceding huge scores to midfielders.

Easy for me to say though. I don’t have Walters and I don’t have trades!

  2. damn Walters , no trades left , does present an opportunity though ,
opens up a loophole in my mids now ,
with Holman , Higgins , Ahern & Spargo via mid / fwd swings ,
3 peat in my cashy still possible with a projected 2410 this week ,
going the E on Higgins & Holeman on field to start ,
hopefully 1 of them tones up ..

  3. Who would u rather have going into the last two weeks as I have to trade Walters
    T/U Gray
Plays the pies and dons final two rounds at the G and Home
    T/D McDonald
Plays the eagles and GWS at Optus and Home

  4. Rory Lobb Fwd at 350k averages 101 when the main ruckman for GWS.

    Rd2. vs Collingwood , 20HO’s -58pts
    Rd.8 vs West Coast, 32HO’s – 107pts
    Rd.10 vs Essendon, 38HO’s – 108pts
    Rd.11 vs Adelaide , 37HO’s – 77pts
    Red. 21 vs Adelaide, 40HO’s -150pts

  5. Put all the “one week wonders” into a hat and draw one out. Just as much chance as suggesting one while “Murphy” is listening.

  6. FREMANTLE gun Michael Walters is a shock chance to line-up against the Cats in Geelong on Saturday, despite previously being ruled out for the season by coach Ross Lyon.

Meanwhile, superstar skipper Nat Fyfe is set to be back from his hamstring strain for a potential head-to-head battle with fellow Brownlow medallist Patrick Dangerfield.

Lyon expected Walters would miss the final two rounds after appearing to ping his hamstring late in Sunday’s come-from-behind win over Carlton.

But further investigation has revealed Walters’ hamstring is not torn, and the Dockers’ leading goalkicker will be treated for a lower buttock complaint in a bid to face the Cats.
