Written by Thommo on June 4 2018

Itโ€™s time again for the Polling Station, where you control the content here at supercoachtalk dot com.

Are there any polls that youโ€™d like to see here before the end of the week? Any bye-related queries? Should we trade Rocky back out again? Are there any must have rookies this week?

Let us know your questions and quandaries in the comments below and we’ll post as many as we can fit into the schedule before the end of the week.

    1. Maybe not , now he’s fwd only , of the 11 games left , he faces 8 strong backlines , but as always when talking about Robby Grey , he could average 60 or 110 from the byes , with a BE of 151 , is a risk if you have low trades ..

        1. yeh danger gaz rotating through fwd line , Jacobs will prob take the 1 in the center at any point or the most damaging if both in the middle ..

  1. Should I grab Gray this week or Westhoff?

    T/U Gray

    T/D Westhoff

Comment: Get a rookie (moore or jones) then next week with 400k in the bank get Gray/Westhoff and McLean

      1. If you seen him take 3+ contested marks jump on, when he was at his best he average 2.5+ a game, hasn’t come close to that in the last 2 seasons.

  2. Perhaps a poll on the best POD defence and forward options as well? For those looking for something different to finish off those lines.

    1. Forwards: Tom McDonald, Mitch Robinson, Josh Caddy, Sam Menegola
Defenders: Jimmy Webster, Shannon Hurn, Luke Ryan, Jack Crisp

    2. that’d be good.
also how’s about SCTers picking our top 5 DEFs and FWDs for the rest of the year. The results would give us a fair reflection of who we all think the likely top 6/7 will be.
I’d base our choices on averages and NOT total points tho’, as the likes of TMac who’ve only played six games will be excluded from the poll.
Another consideration is TMac and Sicily’s DPP across those two lines … I’d include them in BOTH and vote for them in BOTH if you think they are (likely top5 in that position).
After the poll results, it would then be up to SCTers where they want to put them (if at all) and make their subsequent trades from there.

      blahblahblah.

      1. TMAC might go back to fill levers roll , would drop his PPG to about 80 , watch to see if Pederson is named , he will most likely play FWD & take TMACs roll ..

      3. The poll for top 5-7 DEFs & FWDs shouldn’t be based on their AVG for the year but instead how much they’ll average after this round. Last year, players like Bontempelli and Dalhlhaus finished with a far better average for the year than what they averaged after round ~8.

  3. How about a mid-season crystal ball? That is, the same types of questions that we are asked at the start of the season in Roo Bloke’s wonderful competition (who wins the flag? The wooden spoon? Brownlow? etc.), minus the competition bit.

      1. Going to be releasing the results of the first crystal ball which was mid season ladder leader in the next 48hrs or so. Plus I’ll name and shame some tips that with hindsight look woeful.

I’ll make sure to include a few topics for mid season ponderings from the SCT community.

  4. what about a poll on who’s having to cancel their usual queen’s birthday plans as there might actually be a decent game of footy to watch?

    1. yeh , used to be a 1 sided game was at least a physical encounter , now all that’s left is tackling without hurting the player , im sure the AFL will have already written up some more rule changes to fix our almost non contact version of the game , let them eat cake ..

    2. aha….my grandfather just told me the grand old flaggers will be playing (he still talks about Neil Compton) and we/they have a chance…..might have to cancel skiing this year after all. Hip hip horray for her Maj anyway…got a cute new grand daughter in law !!!

    1. So he misses two bye rounds…maybe another round if suspension was one down to two. Trade chaos, especially for those off the pace. Maybe Rocky gets traded in……not !!

      1. I think he can argue he had his arms up to smother & was just clumsy, I do think he knew exactly what he was doing though.

  5. What to do with non-playing rookies who have earnt bugger all through the bye rounds.
    Aka Barry, Keefe, etc

  6. Does champion data scoring over react to Rucks contribution?
Seems to be that they score super high most of the time for (at times) doing little more than making use of their giant size to tap the ball to a team mate 2 yards away.

Not saying it isnt important, but wonder if the scoring is too biased in their favour these days – particularly regarding their overall impact on the game.

Dean Cox would be scoring 3 or 400 every week these days ๐Ÿ™‚
