Polling Station – Rd5

Written by Schwarzwalder on April 15 2019

Welcome back to the Polling Station, where YOU control the content here at SCT!

There are always certain issues/topics/players that Coaches would like to see polled at SCT.  Instead of guessing what you’d like to see, we simply ask…….. Which polls would you like to see in the lead-up to Rd5?  Time for Dunkley to go?  Time to get The Bont in?  What’s going on with Adam Treloar?  Whatever you’d like to see, just ask us in the comments below………

  1. I know it’s already been done, but should we get Rocky in, with the assumption he will be a top 8 mid? Removing the score in the game he was concussed, he has scored 138, 116 and 140, and I feel like we have to get him in this round before his price rises too much more.

    1. And despite his huge scores, he’s only up ~$50k on his starting price. I feel like this is the last week to jump on.

    2. You can’t ignore the score when he was concussed. He was on 39 well into the 3rd quarter… heading for a sub 60 score..

  2. There would be many thinking it as forwards are looking very hard to choose, but is this the year Jack Billings will set out and become a premium?
Started with 88,84,108 then 126 from 28,28,32,34 disposals. Better efficiency should help improve those scores.
Or is this all happening to suck us coaches in for another ride like 2018?
Coaches have players like Dunkley who may be looking to palm him off for a better player and is Billings someone they can back?

    1. Look I’m not sure I’ll bring in stack but have to say watching that game on the weekend he looked really good was surprised he scored as low as he did.

I think he is a good option however I can see the point of the 108 in the cycle for 1 round only shame that it wasn’t last week

      1. Strangely, I think it works out better in the long-run as it means he won’t stagnate so quickly, but it will always remain in his average to keep his BE down. Relatively. I’d need to produce a chart to demonstrate and don’t have the time right now. He’ll make less money in two weeks, but more in 5! Trust me 😉

  3. Are Stack and Rotham worth jumping on this week?
Rotham was a late in, so job security surely isn’t there, while Stack was quiet this week, and his 108 is only in his price calculations for one week.
Besides, there aren’t really any rookies that are worth trading out for these two, aside from Balta and maybe Parker (if your DPP allows).

    1. Eagles supporter here. No way Rotham keeps his spot.

He was a late in for Jetta. He’s also competing against Petruccelle and Allen, who work better with our set up. Rioli will slot straight back into the side in a few weeks and Venables will eventually fight his way in there as well.

      1. He’s a defender ffs!!!….played 2 games, and has held his own, 25+ disposals not bad for a late in

        1. They’re pretty much all utility players, so can play back or forward is GD’s point. Jetta back likely means he’ll miss.
Waterman also kicked his second bag (of five) in two weeks, incl. 19disps and 9matks in the WAFL.
Eagles have some nice problems to contend with. Not good for last-in’s (first outs)!

    2. Massive conundrum with all this week’s bubble boys…all four of them I think. O’Reilly, stack, rotham and hore. As good as stack and rotham look, they are only getting games cause of injuries. O’Reilly looks to be a great cash generator but would have to take c Pines spot….he’s twice allowed me Cripps 150+ I have Hore.
The problem is many cows need to go either this week or next, but questions over the bubble boys.
I think I’m going to hold.

      1. Trade another rookie and swing Bines forward for a month – will allow you to loophole 2 forward rookies as well. His DPP was the sole reason why he was worth picking over Sweet before Rd1, may as well utilise it.

  4. Who to grab of the Collingwood midfield?

Last time I looked at the stats Grundy is leading the Pies for contested possessions, centre clearances, tackles and high in all round clearances.

Surely Buckley will prioritise his dominant clearance midfielder in coming weeks or are they just one even alternating bunch?

    1. In my opinion nobody in SC should be going anywhere near that midfield especially pre-byes. Treloar is a butcher and can go missing. Sidebottom, Beams and Adams’ ceilings aren’t high enough with everyone fit. Arguably the same with Pendles but even if he is the most consistent of all of them his SC scores continue to creep down. The only people I see who have Collingwood players are Collingwood fans. Better value elsewhere.

      1. Have to agree. With the Rd13 bye you need Neale and will likely want Oliver soon if you don’t already have him!
Wait for injuries and some consistency.
Think Adams is more of a butcher than Treloar tho!
Brayden Sier is also over a few niggles and had 28 possies and 6 tackles in the VFL last week. Wells was BOG and has put his hand up too. Way too many to have any confidence in a single one of them.
Like I said back in Jan, why trade for Beams?! Especially when the depth down back is proving problematic again!?
        Don’t get it.

Still, anything’s better than Hannebery 🙁

  5. how about a poll on Williams?
Is he top 6 and worthy of hold or should he be traded early to a premo like Hurn, LLloyd etc?

His BE is higher than his average already and projections don’t have him making back his current dollars before his bye … hmmm … noticing him being traded out a bit too!

  6. Thinking of trading B.Crouch to Boak via DPP (Drew) which will be much better structuraly for my team getting Constable on field. However a tiny part of me is looking at Parker to Rowan “The Prospect” Marshall. Is he the Saints future and will he keep his positiin in the ruck…?

  7. Feel Balta has stalled, and also am interested in getting some cash generation options going, but would really appreciate the wisdom of the community.

Tu: Balta –> Hore(or Lockhart) via Rozee DPP

Td: Keep Balta as an out and focus on other rookie downgrades to raise capital and generate cash

  8. Only one trade down so time to use a couple….

    Gibbons -> Stack
Balta -> RO’B (via Bines DPP)

Bines can go back to Ruck loophole once Sauce comes back.
