Welcome to the Polling Station at SCT!  Where YOU control the content……….

As always, we could guess which polls you’d like to see at SCT this week……or we could just ask!  What would you like to ask your fellow Coaches ahead of Rd7?  Remaining trades?  Replacements for Robbie Gray?  Best Fallen Premiums at their current price?  Whatever it is, enter into the commentsand we’ll do our best to get it happening before Rd7…………

  1. Instead of just a poll on best premiums to trade in, I wonder if it would be possible to do a best possible trade poll; I’d suggest for those with either cash in the bank or planning on doing a 1 downgrade 1 upgrade trade this week we’d all be considering very similar trades

Scrimshaw to a Loyd, Hurn, Sicily
Atkins to a Rockliff, Crisp, T.Kelly

Personally I’ve got Laird but of course he’d be added to the poll (and would likely win the poll due to his current price)

    1. Just for reference the poll would be something like;

      Which trade is the best trade to make this round;

      Scrimshaw to Laird
      Scrimshaw to Lloyd
      Scrimshaw to Hurn
      Scrimshaw to Sicily
      Atkins to Rockliff
      Atkins to Crisp (via Duursma)
      Atkins to T.Kelly (via Setterfield)

    2. I’d rather see simple polls on top 6, 8 and 6 by line, from now to season’s end.

There are a lot of people in TradeTalk, mooting Daniel and Rich as targets, but are they really going to be Top6 by respective position from now to season’s end?!

Of course, we’re not ever gonna be 100% right, but it may help SCTers to focus on who they really should be targeting by line, rather than simply who they can afford!! Speaking from recent experience, that can really fu3k up your season!

I know we seem to do these sort of polls quite regularly, but they are always relevant, especially now we’re into upgrade season proper!

      1. Of the best 22 players we could then vote on the best targets this week either overall or by position?

  2. I’d be interested to see how many rookies that coaches have on the field after the completion of R6. I’m still running with 9 and desperate to start doing some upgrades…

  3. With forwards looking really questionable at F5 & F6 this year, is Toby Greene worth the risk this week? GWS had a tough draw to start the year and the next 8 weeks look favourable.

Those who started the year without him avoided the early injuries can still pick him up for $350K

Nothing to lose or still not worth it?

    1. I think that would be a good poll. Certainly more attractive now than 6 weeks ago. Be interesting to see what people think re: injury/suspension vs potential value

      1. I started the year without Greene and Fyfe knowing that they would miss some games this season. Have they had their missed games for the year and are ready to have a good run?

I wouldn’t consider Greene earlier, but now maybe… especially when he could be the low priced ‘key’ to removing Balta from my team. He can’t be any worse than Balta, even if he does miss more games.

      1. Whilst I get that, ‘never again’ lists are simply a bad idea.

Rocky, Libba and Billings this year are a case in point. Why limit your options? Of course, proceed with maximum caution, but ‘never again’ …

        1. Got to have some principles and a line in the sand AllSaints, how many time do you want to be burnt? The problem with Toby Green is also GWS. He was a late out, and supposed to miss one week. They have been so secretive with the injury that I will steer clear of him until at least the byes.

          1. There was another Giant that this happened with last year – I think it was Kelly? I don’t trust their injury reports as far as I can throw Mumford.

            1. How far’s that?!?

It worries me with Whitfield too, to be honest. We’ll likely hear nothing genuine/helpful with regard to his corky. Whitfield’s game and pts are so reliant on his ability to run all day … he’s also tall and comparatively skinny which’ll make it particularly painful and likely mean a longer recovery period. As an owner, I’m more than a little concerned. I might even make a crazy trade if he doesn’t get up this week. Llllloyyd!!

    1. Wrong thread, but Larkey isn’t on the bubble yet. Balta will make money this week (albeit a small amount). Nothing to lose and something to gain (potentially a lot if Larkey goes down in a heap) by waiting.
Butters has a low BE. Do you not have a worse MID-rookie to flick?!

  4. What to do with Brayshaw. Was hoping he would jump to a 105-110avg but hasn’t improved on last year and Demons struggling.

Worth an upgrade to Boak/Fyfe/Bont etc?

    1. I’m pondering the same. He is getting decent numbers while Melbourne are playing terrible. When they pick up, his numbers will surely improve too

  5. I think the how many rookies are we fielding is a excellent pointer.
Even still , how about asking those what there rank is in the same question to get a better guide on where we all should be in comparison.

  6. Is darcy moores time up?
Doesnt look like a keeper at this stage and I think his money making days are also coming to an end. I went conservative last week and resisted the urge to downgrade him to Baker, but im still contemplating that move this week.

  7. I’d love to see a poll on westhoff his stinking it a bit now but when does he come back into calculation… 383k and a proven scorer as well as a ruck/fwd.. I’d prefer him over greene like i see a few people are flirting with..

  8. I’d like to see a poll on whether people know that this article each week is seeking thumbs up or down on whether a poll should be held for that particular question, not seeking answers to the question.
Your answers or opinions are then provided once the poll is posted.

    1. Champ, if we had answers to all the questions then we’d be winning SuperCoach every year and the game itself would be extremely boring. With the polls (and comments) we get a good idea on certain topics and which direction our Coaches are leaning. What you do with that info is entirely up to you (as with all write-ups on SCT)……….

  9. Sorry Schwarz you missed my point.
I love reading everyone’s responses to the polls but those responses should be given when the poll is asked, as with The Hobbit at the moment, not in the post asking for a poll.

As an example “M” has asked for a poll on Toby Greene as F5 or F6. The thumbs at the moment are 3 up and 6 down. Does that mean 3 people want the poll and 6 don’t or that 3 people think Greene is a good option at F5 or F6 and 6 don’t.

  10. What to do with Kade Simpson?

Was planning on trading Atkins and LDU –> Hayes and Fyfe but Simpson’s killing me at the moment.

  11. Need to get Fyfe in this week what do u guys think:

    Thumbs Up-Constable to Fyfe
    Duursma to Answerth
    OR
    Thumbs Down-Libba to Fyfe

Abit reluctant in trading libba as believe he still has some good scores left in him but on the other hand Constable and Duursma both have a little bit more cash to make. Comments appreciated
