  1. Is Rockliff a top 8-10 mid? Is Brodie Smith a top 6 def? Is Rowan Marshall a top 6 forward?

    1. Perhaps a poll on who we think the top 6-8 will be in each position *from this point forward*?

  2. for the coaches with Goldstein/ Grundy. When is the appropriate time to upgrade Goldstein to Gawn? Or should we be doing in it ASAP?

    1. I would have thought the bye rounds is the only reason anyone would have started without Gawndy

      1. Also money (14 percent of your starting cap is a lot to spend on two players), the Cox Curse, uncertainty over Preuss’ impact – there were plenty of valid reasons to not start Gawndy. I’d wager that most who did would be happy with their decision, but I didn’t start either, and I’m also happy with mine.

    2. Round 14 (Goldstein’s bye – also conveniently 1 week after Gawn’s).

Assume both score their current season average every week (a tad unrealistic, but it simplifies things) – that’s 101 for Goldstein, and 120 for Gawn.

We’re heading into round 8. From now until the end of round 14 is 7 weeks. So, if you keep Goldstein until his bye, then trade him to Gawn, you’ll get (6 x 101) + 120 = 726 points. If you trade Goldstein to Gawn now, you’ll get 6 x 120 = 720 points (because Gawn won’t play round 13).

  3. Will Ben Cunnington finish as a top 10 midfielder? Currently only in 1.6% teams, so could be an intriguing POD.

    1. Seconding this, his stats are up across the board (including ToG %) this year which suggests it could be sustainable

      1. Equal second in the league this season for centre clearances (21), which no doubt is aided by the new 6-6-6 rule.

Second in the league behind Cripps for total clearances & number 1 for stoppage clearances.

    2. I think he’s the Ed Curnow of 2019. Excellent for the first half of the year, then will regress to the mean in the back half.

  4. Libba is projected to lose $20k this week. Who should go given the choice between him and a fattened cow?

    1. Round review is tomorrow due to real life getting in the way of the writer Dane. Real life comes before supercoach

  5. I’m curious as to how many “premos’ from one club coaches is too many that they might pinch points from each other.

For example, Daniel, Bont, Macrae and Dunkley all realistically look like finishing in top 6-10 of their positions. As with Dalhaus, Kelly, Stewart and Danger (cats) or Whitfield, Kelly, Williams, Coniglio (Giants) by average.

Even if it suits bye structure is 4 too many? I could have all four dogs this week.

Might not be a poll question just an interesting thought

  6. libba & brayshaw are causing real headaches both bleeding cash.
do they need to go even before dealing with rooks?

  7. How about a poll regarding score anomolies.

Who does the community think as CD ‘darlings’ and who is not.

i.e. who seems to do nothing yet their score seems > increase whilst others seem to do plenty yet their score stagnates.

    Top 3 in each?

I would go Lloyd, Cripps & Goldy.

Listened to the 3rd quarter of North v Hawthorn on radio- never heard Goldy’s name called once yet scored over 40 points for that quarter.

The not’s would have to be the Crouch brothers and Maccrae doesn’t seem to be scoring as well this year yet his stats seem okay.

    1. The Crouch brothers are very hard done by, but look at Oliver:

      C.Oliver v M.Crouch
      DISP: 31.3 v 33
      C.DISP: 16.3 v 11.3
      EFF: 65.3 v 69.7
      CLR: 6.6 v 4
      I50: 6 v 3.1
      P.ACTS: 22.1 v 18.9
      TKL/MKS: Almost identical
      SC: 100.4 v 107.4

Oliver’s efficiency is slightly down, but basically wins across the board. Yet still averages less

      1. Great comparison Pete. I have both of these guys and they have been underwhelming so far. Looks like they will need to average 40+ disposals to reach the bar I set for them at the start of the year. Still going ok, but need more from them!

        1

        0
      2. I have both & have no issues with their scores.

The way Crouch plays he needs to have solid a DE% because he has a bad kick to HB ratio, is often kicking short/sideways, he’s often getting the 2nd disposals from a contest to which despite being in difficult traffic is class as uncontested.

Oliver averaged 6.7 tackles last season down to 4.8 this season, averaged 3.96 clangers last season up to 5.8 this season.

if you really look you can see there isn’t many anomalies & the “CD Darlings” are pretty much just guys who get effective contested ball.

  8. Should we trade or keep Brayshaw and Devon smith,
as above Brayshaw doesn’t look like he will average at least 95 and
Devon smith has already lost almost 150K ..

Should we hold onto to them as last option mid and forward and upgrade the rest of the team IE rookies or should we offload them this week to cut our losses??

  9. Trade/Hold Libba (BE 142, last 2 71, 58)

    Trade/Hold Walsh (BE 97, last 2 79, 89)

  10. Maybe a poll on why I didn’t bring in O’brien.

Open it to let the punters add additional answer options.

I don’t know why I passed on him, I’m sure others could provide the answer.

    2. Can kinda understand if sauce was originally a two week option. But with Bines originally on my bench, it was a no brainer to move him fwd and keep the c loop, and get ROB….he’s on the way to 500k

  11. C. Constable played in the two’s on Sat v Ess.
Anyone got any idea how he played & why he was dropped ?

    1. Word on the street that is was team structure and they went for more pace against Essendon. We will see this week if he is recalled against North.

With Gazza suspended, Danger saw, surely he gets a nod?

    2. It’s in the ‘Around the Grounds’ write-up which will be posted later in the week. He has 19 disposals in the first half but faded after that.
Finished with 25disposals (11 kicks), 11 tackles, 6 marks and 7 I50s. Pretty bloody good!

    1. i have same combo but cause of Goldy and ROB form, I’m going to get all other rooks upgraded first. Perfect cover in a disaster, and can be cashed in at any time. Sauce who ??

    2. I started with Gawn, Goldy and Bines, then traded O’Brien in on the bubble via DPP (moving Bines to the FWD bench).

I figured it was a waste leaving O’Brien on the bench, so last week I traded out Goldy for T.Kelly, moved O’Brien to R2, and bought Bines back onto the ruck bench. If everything works out, I will hopefully upgrade O’Brien to Grundy in R14. The only risk here is the effect if Jacobs returns from injury several weeks before the bye rounds.

      1. Hi Steve, had every intention of doing what you did but stuffed it up by leaving it to late. Currently thinking the same option which allows me to Bring in Kelly & Westoff. Hope you read this, any thoughts?
