Premium Mids Poll

Written by Motts on August 4 2010

All averaging 111 a game. All priced between $540k and $560k. All playing for great teams right now. Who gets the nod?

Who should we play on-field in DEF? (two choices)

  1. Got one trade left with Barlow sitting on the bench still ($60K in bank) and the following fwd / mid lines:

    Mid
Ablett, Swan, J.Selwood, Goddard, Gibbs, Goodes (Barlow, Gysberts)

    Fwd
Pavlich, Harvey, O’Keefe, Franklin, Rockliff, J.Brown, Higgins (Gumbleton, McNeil)

As I have the flexility with McNeil / Goodes as MPP, do I get Chappy or go for a mid like Boyd, Cross or Montagna? Finished top of my league, but evenly matched this week (my opponent has both Chappy and Didak, which is a little bit of concern). We both have J.Brown, who I was looking to bench to risk an advantage.

    Any thoughts appreciated. Cheers

  2. Thanks lads. Think I’ll hold fire for this week and hope I get straight through to the prelim. Spewing on Gumby… thought he was just starting to hit his straps too and nice reserve.

  3. Although Matty Boyd is the obvious sexy choice, I can’t go past Scottie Pendlebury who I think is due for some big scores as taggers go to Swan & Didak.
That said NDS & Boyd are great choices, I have Penders & NDS & narrowly chose Selwood over Chapman, Joey, Hayes, Boyd & Cross recently.

  4. I’ve had NDS from the start and he’s been a bit up and down, esp. when he’s been tagged. He can get 50 odd in a quarter, then go missing for the rest of the game.

Brought Pendles in when Barlow went snap and have been impressed by the amount of work he does at clearances. He’s not someone you’d think of as an in-and-under type player but when Swan gets hassled out, Pendles gets right in there and does well for himself, his team, and my SC score.

  5. Sewell 129 ave from last 3 since being dropped and still 498k will be my upgrade for Martin this week so I can go dfield to roo with my cash left.

  6. I’ve only got NDS out of these three, so went with him. He’s already had his week off (round 16) and has a lovely run home… Port, North, Richmond and Adelaide.
