Prepare Yourself

Written by Motts on April 16 2015

It could get ugly tonight when the teams are announced (as usual – SCT will be the first on the net with them).

Names I’ve already heard rumours or statements about missing this week include Joel Selwood, Scott Pendlebury, Brodie Smith, Gary Ablett, Brett Deledio, Troy Menzel, Nick Dal Santo and Kane Lambert.

Throw them on top of Tom Rockliff, Steele Sidebottom, and Jaeger O’Meara and its enough to drive you to drink.

Just make sure you’re sitting down when they come through around 6:30pm.

What’s everybody’s plans if there are major outs this week? Do you take the hit this week and not interrupt your overall strategy (lose the battle to hopefully win the war) or do you go all out for the W.

  1. If Pendlebury misses, Heeney plays. Not ideal but no crisis.
However if Cripps misses, that completely throws out my trades for this week and I will not be happy!

  2. Fortunately I only have Gaz from this list, and he will be dropped….
Im going for overall (like most) and have all of the cashcow rooks except VDB and NVBโ€ฆ..

    1. I could be short-sighted and trade Ablett out for 2 premos this week (thinking Sloane/JPK/Shiel & Goldstein)
    2. Or I could look ahead and trade Gaz and a dead rookie out for VDB and NVB, and have excess cash for next week and cash the cashcows in for premos in a few weeks.
    3. Have the best of both worlds; Trade in what I call a โ€œPremium Cashcowโ€ (ie Shielโ€ฆ. due for a 50k rise) for Gaz and get either of NVB or VDB.

Cheers in advance for your help

  3. What are peoples thoughts on the following players? This is keeping me up at night. I just don’t know enough about them.

    1) Shiel
    2) Mundy
    3) Macdonald

You could even put Rich in their. I’m undecided on if he would be a good option as a keeper for 9-10 midfield spot. Please HELP! ๐Ÿ˜›

  5. Care to spare a second on this one?

THUMBS UP for 2 Premiums….. trade Ablett + another out for 2 Premiums this week (Shiel/JPK/Sloane/Goldstein/Buddy)

THUMBS DOWN for 2 rookies….. trade Ablett + another out for VDB and NVB, and have excess cash for upgrades next week

COMMENT for 1 of each…… Have the best of both worlds; Trade Ablett + another for a Premium and NVB or VDBerg?

    Thanks!!

  6. Was either Gazza or Pendles as M1 for me so guess I would have been shaky either way this week, but potentially could have saved a trade by going the later and having a rookie on for Pendles this week.

For the purpose of SC, I hope that B.Smith is rested. Although I can still get him next week, I would prefer to save ~30kish with no price rise.

If Selwood misses, gives another week of cash cow growth to bring him in before the byes ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Are we talking about Joel Selwood from Geelong, or his brother Scott at West Coast? I know Scott is out with an ankle, first I’ve heard there is anything wrong with Joel. That being said, I reckon he was in the Herald-Sun panic room about 5-6 times last year but managed to play every game.

  8. If Sloane or Doc don’t get named – reassess my trades (I haven’t heard anything so don’t panic)
If Goldy or Maric aren’t named (again, haven’t heard anything) – Swear, repeatedly, like a fisherman, for a few hours.
If anyone else isn’t named (up to 2 in each line) be happy that the chances of actually putting the right rookie on the field have improved.

  9. The Bont didn’t train Tuesday or today, has a corked calf according to the doggies forum. Whilst the teams tonight will be full of pain, I’m sensing it’ll be nothing compared to some late outs this weekend, there seems to be niggling, touch and go injuries left, right and centre at the moment.

  10. ok what are peoples thoughts on A.Swallow to N.Van Berlo??
i originally got swallow, more as a cheap semi prem, who wouldnt loose value get decent score and be traded up to ulta premo for one of my last trades, but is it worth dumping him for van berlo pocket the 300k and collect on van berlo price rise aswell?? or silly trade and hold swallow.
Thumbs up do the trade take the coin
Thunmbs down, hold swallow let the van berlo train go past.

  11. Thoughts on trading Ablett to Gray
Trade Lambert out, move Gray forward.
    Trade in NVB into mids.
I have nailed all other position rookies except NVB, it’s all about makimg $$$$ for upgrades later.

    TU good
    TD try something else

  12. Looking at two trades this week.

All my rookie mids (Heeney, AVD, Dom Sheen, Anderson, Cripps & Miller) are named but looking to maximise dollars. Missed Ellis Yoemen in my starting line up (did not hit the all crucial save button prior to round 1).

Miller to Ellis Yoemen – solid on this.

Cripps to NVB – not sure, don’t want to burn Cripps early but potential cash to be made on NVB promising especially if he can maintain his form. Also, that will be 3 Adelaide players in my mids including Sloan. $54K in the bank at the moment.

    Thoughts or other suggestions welcomed.

  13. Who do I start as my F6….
THUMS UP :Mitch Clarke vs Suns
    THUMBS DOWN: JHogan vs Crows?

Hogan has performed better, but has a tougher matchup this week, whereas Clarke could bag a few against GCS…..

Thanks for your help with this guys ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Playing for league.

To save and make cash: downgrade Malceski to McDonald or Rance (hard to believe that he’s considering walking away from the game given his performance in the last two games) and sideway trade Lamb to Hogan for more cash next week.

    Thoughts?
