I’d normally be posting up my Rookie Review on a Tuesday morning, but due to the late round you’ll see it tomorrow morning instead.
So one to my next big question, Priddis was KO’d at the start of his Round 5 clash against Port and scored a massive 5 points causing his price to crash, and right now it’s about as low as it will go and is at the forefront of many SCT-aholics minds, myself included. He’s a very consistent performer and now his price $454k and he has a BE of 79. His scores this season: 86, 113, 122, 104, 5, 113, 97. Where do you sit with the shaggy haired one?

Im ranked 374, should I get Watson instead? Watson is probably a week from bottoming out, but should provide me with 15-20 extra points a week. Saying that, watson is 120k more expensive and has the rd 13 bye

I’m unsure on this one so far. Have to bring Buddy in this week I think. I have the $ to do the Priddis trade also but my rookies are still travelling along nicely apart from Heath. May trust my gut and bring in Thurlow this week and skip Priddis in favour of Selwood next week. Currently ranked 90th, 363 off the leader so I need to think outside the box here maybe.
I am a HUGE Priddis fan and think that he is a must-get this week for a few reasons.
1- Durability. In the last six and a half years he has played 128 out of a possible 139 games. In the last two and a half seasons he has missed only two games
2- Consistent. In the last three and a half seasons he has averaged a very solid 110 (discounting his two concussion games). He hasn’t scored less than 83 in the last two and a half seasons (again, discounting the two concussion games). Only eight scores less than 100 in those 47 matches.
3- Game style. He is an in-and-under extractor, something that SuperCoach loves.
4- PoD. This isn’t the place to be different. Just about every other good team will get him. If you don’t, you are basically competing against a guaranteed 110 every week that you have missed out on at $450k.
5- Byes. Good bye round position (R12) with not many other stars there. J Selwood, JP Kennedy, A Swallow, Jack and S Selwood are probably the only other midfield players that you are likely to have and I doubt many would have more than two of those.
Can’t quite do a straight swap of a rookie for Priddis so it will take two trades. Definitely want Shaggy on my team though just got to figure out who makes way and who the cheapo rookie is that comes in with him.

i traded in Stevie J last week instead of Daisy, now with Daisy scoring well again and having a low BE he is on my radar this week. My thoughts are Daisy will mean i wont need to play a rookie in the forwards, but will stick with omeara and kommer in the mids. Or if i go Priddis is will need to play neade or dwyer in the forwards. i think there is more premium mid options that will bottom out in the coming weeks compared to forward premiums. so daisy is slightly infront of priddis for me atm.

griffin’s injury has thrown my trades out- was looking at neade to priddis, but to do that would have to go griffin to hannath, with leuenberger the other ruck- too risky to run these two for a few weeks?
alternative is to go neade to colqhoun, then griffin to maric or a forward like bartell (via cox)

I would like to talk about buddy. From rd1 most peoples stratergy was too wait and see if buddy dropped in price, and grab him before he plays the celler dwellers. And whadda ya know, it has worked to a tee. However i have watched every hawks game, and his body language is poor, his teammates are not passing to him, and wouldnt be surprised if he got rubbed out soon….thoughts?
Looking forward to that rookie review, already ditched Neade before round 7 (phew) so aside Wines to Priddis (just for something different), will look at a downgrade on Stevenson, then upgrade Dwyer or Macaffer to Buddy next week. Thurlow looks pretty good for first gamer, JS big issue though

going to get jack hannath in with neade aswell. i see him getting a big oppurtunity for a few weeks now as he has been playing well with griffin, now that griffin is out he should have an even greater role. apparently clarke is on his way back but i think hannath should be good for a little while

I have been pondering the premiums that will be available in the next few weeks. I am pretty happy with my rookies (except Neade and B Hill). I can trade them this week for Priddis and a down grade or I can break a few rules (sideways). Moloney into Priddis and JJK into Buddy . The second option allows me to aim up to Jobe, Cotch, Birch, Nic Nat, etc in the next few weeks.

The procrastination has started big time. Was going to bring Heater into my backs this week by saying goodbye to Wines and Stevenson but his 1 week has changed my mind. I only have 3 premium defenders however two are Dixon and Hartlett who I don’t wanna sideways cause that always comes back to bite ya on the arse. So was thinking Hanley who I know is more but strengthens my back line. My other option is to strengthen my forwards by going Wines and Neade to Stevie J giving me 5 premo forwards and LeCras on the field. Feedback much appreciated.
