    1. Rocky gave away a few frees in the first quarter as well as two or three turnovers . . . his SC score was -5 at Quarter time and was never gonna come back from there given the Blues’ dominance over the rest of the match.

I thought the game was massively painful to watch. The lack of skill by both sides was evident and the complete mismanagement by the umpires was disgraceful. I just hope the rest of the round isn’t handled the same way by the umps. Treating players like primary school kids because of Baker’s indiscretions last week is hardly justifiable. The MRP sent a strong enough message . . . it doesn’t need to be repeated by the umps paying stupid frees which ruin the spectacle.

      1. I agree with you, Mike. The umpires exerted far too much influence on that game. I’ve never seen a game where so many 50m penalties were paid.

        1. I think it was something like 12 50s, ridiculous! They always go from one extreme to the other. Why cant they find the middle ground, and maybe, God forbid, use a bit of comon sense for a change.

Agreed Mike, it wasn’t much of a spectical, Carlton were shocking in the first quater, I picked them to win by 50 in my tipping comp, wasn’t looking good for a while, but in the end they came good, should pick up a few points on everyone in my comp as far as margins go.

  1. 232/2/GAJ. Good to see Betts have a couple of good games in a row. Carrazzo finally gave me a semi decent score. He hasn’t done shit since I traded him in a few weeks ago.

    Juddy & Rocky.
Betts keeps getting better and better, and I might get him in my side next year.
Hodge, Buddy, Higgins, Gia and Hall tonight.

If what Mike said above is true I will be fearing GAJ’s score when he receives 10 Free kicks!

Not a bad start. Judd, Carrotts, Gibbs and Rocky. Also good to see Carrazzo get me a decent score again. Its been a little dry from him the last 5 weeks! If he can just get me 80-90 a game i’m happy.

Happy with the 50 from CP as it would have been a 0. Gotta love the Rolly Polly comeback and one of my few significant increases!

  7. An article in today’s Geelong Advertiser says nothing about Pods’ likely omission.

“James Podsiadly must shoulder the main forward role after Cameron Mooney and Steve Johnson copped suspensions this week, further compounding the loss of Tom Hawkins”.

Surely Balme’s comments on SEN yesterday would have been acknowledged.

    1. The only reason why I traded SOS out this week was cos he got dropped and I didn’t have any back bench coverage, what a waste of a precious trade.

      1. Tossed up between trading out Trengrove or Silvagni this week and went Trengrove, because of Freos run home. Just hope Silvagni gets a few more games towards the end of the season.

  9. Darren, the guy I’m playing in the LoEC, has Mitch Banner on the bench. No (E) so he has no chance of getting his score. Ouch.

Continue to be unimpressed. That’s 3 midfielders in my team now that have failed to score 100s – Barlow, Pavlich and Cooney.

Having a real stinker. But so is my 2nd placed opponent in my tough match who has 935/11/GAJ. Pods and Spazlich were supposed to be my points of difference but I might have to count on others.

Looking like I’m going to lose all 3. Jolly was a good in for me this week but Tippett would have been an even better one. Hoping the footy gods smile upon me by frowning upon Bartel and Pods tomorrow.

    1. You might get real lucky Motts as I wouldn’t be surprised if Jimmy is a late exclusion due to the “general soreness” of his arm and I think JPod may struggle against Thompson et al.

          1. Balme is a liar. Final Teams – Pods is playing!!!
Geel – In: Simon Hogan Out: Cameron Ling
North In: Leigh Adams Out: Nathan Grima

Pretty happy as this includes Peterson, Henderson and Stevens filling in for Hurn, Brown and Gray.
BTW has anyone seen Gray lately? I’m starting to think he doesn’t exist anymore.

      1. Yeah but its the way you went about it HGLBCO. You couldn’t ask your boys to do a much better job than that – contrast that to how the Blues disposed of the Lions on Thursday.

        1. Yeah, the Pies ticked all the boxes, and, played great footy last night. I’m a very happy Pie this morning, but, we need to execute our skills under the fiercest of pressure, and those tests are still to come, so for now, happy, but keeping a lid on it.

          1. Ok I’ll put the lid back on. Team looks pretty settled, only change will be L Brown out & in Fraiser. I don’t like it but can see it happening.

          2. Sidebottom will come back in, Medhurst if he can get the run & spring back & Fraser.
I think like Leon, Fraser is down a bit on form and confidence. We need these guys to be up and about. Fraser kicking a couple each week straightens us up and makes life easier for Dawes/Cloke and the crumbers. The fact that he kicked 4 in the 2’s last week is a step in the right direction.

  14. Im 1207/12/GAJ leading motts 1130/13/GAJ.

Motts needs Hunt, Kennelly and Selwood to outscore Fisher, Bartel, Martin and Chapman, plus another 77 points….

it looks like i might have this one…but will have to wait and see

    1. Hate to rain on your parade cause from what i can gather it was a gutsy, club defining game, but …. the title of best win in a decade mustn’t have too many challengers when it comes to the Tiges.

Definitely a club going in the right direction (finally)
