Rocky gave away a few frees in the first quarter as well as two or three turnovers . . . his SC score was -5 at Quarter time and was never gonna come back from there given the Blues’ dominance over the rest of the match.
I thought the game was massively painful to watch. The lack of skill by both sides was evident and the complete mismanagement by the umpires was disgraceful. I just hope the rest of the round isn’t handled the same way by the umps. Treating players like primary school kids because of Baker’s indiscretions last week is hardly justifiable. The MRP sent a strong enough message . . . it doesn’t need to be repeated by the umps paying stupid frees which ruin the spectacle.

I agree with you, Mike. The umpires exerted far too much influence on that game. I’ve never seen a game where so many 50m penalties were paid.

I think it was something like 12 50s, ridiculous! They always go from one extreme to the other. Why cant they find the middle ground, and maybe, God forbid, use a bit of comon sense for a change.
Agreed Mike, it wasn’t much of a spectical, Carlton were shocking in the first quater, I picked them to win by 50 in my tipping comp, wasn’t looking good for a while, but in the end they came good, should pick up a few points on everyone in my comp as far as margins go.
