  1. Motts left the pub early tonight to make sure he could make the necessary adjustments if GAJ and Pods don’t play.

We can’t all be top 1000 although some are but what we do try to achieve on this site is light hearted banter and constructive advice – not direct bagging of a regular poster. Can’t see you getting much support with that attitude so perhaps a more measured approach should be considered.
By all means take the piss but do it cleverly.

    1. I worry about Heater as he oten gets the tag and the Wobbles usually do nothing about it as this releases Maxwell or O’Brien.
All else looks pretty shweet if you can get ’em on the park.

      1. Hey Motts,
All good over here mate. Unfortunately stuck in the office today, but I’m tuned in to the radio at my desk. Next best thing I guess…

Oh, and I made Hodge captain as well.

  6. Just quietly… Motts captained Joel this week. Last minute decision. He also benched Pods. That’s how Motts rolls.

    1. HGLBCO approves of anyone who rolls with Selwood as captain. HGLBCO nearly bought Selwood into the team this week and probably would’ve made him captain if he had.
HGLBCO is rollin’ with the big Sandi and a whole host of associates who may, or may not, be referred to as tones or colours.

  7. Not watching the game on the box but checked the 3/4 time SC scores and my 4 Geelong players are spudding it up big time. Bartel 59, GAJ (C) 53, JPod 50, Enright 39. Was kinda hoping for total scores of Bartel 110, GAJ 150 (which would become 300 with the C), JPod 100, Enright 100. Lift in the last boys!! I couldn’t handle losing to Sheeds in my league!!

Benched Hendo and he comes in with a 98 so my fault if we lose. Gaj can not Captain ever again – he’s a dud.

    1. If I witnessed a mate having a heart attack minutes before a match I’d play pretty poorly too. I reckon we gotta put Geelong’s performance into perspective. Barring Selwood and Taylor, they all looked pretty distracted.

  9. 173/3/Godstar.

1st time I took the captaincy away from GAJ, glad I did. Not a great start, but only up from here.

Anyone think the AFL made Geelong play GAJ, as there were huge betting splurges for Adeliade? They don’t like to look bad with the betting and tip-offs.

  10. 249/3/gaj. His nickname no longer deserves capitals and he no longer deserves captaincy!! Enright two lemons in a row. Henderson has been on the pine since I brought him in for scores of 83, 136 and 98! Unless Silvagni has a blinder, hes a lock in next week.

All my cats let me down, selwood was the only stand out.
That was the last time I follow advice from the heraldsun, i had Goddard captian and was inspired when i read last time gaj played crows he scored 196, we live and learn, he wont be captain again!!!

  13. 577/6/GAJ. Quite a similar scoreline for my second team as well. Upside however, is that both my opponents have GAJ as my captain. And I’m still looking for a 2200+ score……hopefully.

      1. It’s almost as if they look at your team, pick a gun player that your opponents don’t have, then omit him at the last minute.
If you listen carefully you can hear them sniggering.

        1. Yeah, it’s happen to me in the last 3 weeks in a row. Cost me a league win two weeks ago, might be the same again this week.

  19. Can we get a post started to pay tribute to the best small forward in the game, Motts?

Mark Lecras’ 224 was amazing, I was at the game and he was as dominant in his position as anyone I have seen!

    What a champion.

      1. You really think Betts is right up there with those other blokes? Hmmm, … maybe Motts also has a B.C.O?

        0

        0
        1. Betts is being debated for All Australian selection by a lot more esteemed football brains than mine, HGL. Has kicked 5 goals 3 times since R7 and averages 90 SC points a game – you have to throw him into the mix on that basis.

Don’t get me wrong, I do have a BCO but I try to temper it.

Surprised you haven’t made mention of the ladder, mate. First time since 1990. Congrats.

          0

          0
          1. Fair enough, the numbers add up. Betts is in.
The best thing about yesterday is that it illustrates that if we execute our skills correctly, we have the players and gameplan to go a long way. I’m happy, and quietly hoping that we’ll be good enough when the kitchen gets really hot.

            0

            0
          2. Motts it was the first time since 1990 in ROUND 16 that we’ve been top of the ladder, we were there a few years ago…

            0

            0
          3. All Australian selectors got it wrong big time last year for this position going for Neon Leon over OOHH AAHH.

            0

            0
          4. Selectors got it right Deano, Neon was a gun last year and is still going a lot better than people give him credit for this year.

            0

            0
      2. Maybe Stokes and/or Byrnes from the Cats. Can’t really think of anyone else worthy of a spot, Lindsay Thomas played a blinder a few weeks ago, Ballantyne has been lively for Freo, but would they poll a single vote when put up against these guys..?

        0

        0
        1. Ballantyne – any bloke that takes the #1 guernsey in his first year at the club has tickets on himself. Won’t be including him in this poll.

          0

          0
          1. I personally can’t stand the little piss ant! Can’t wait for the day a massive defender just irons him out, leaving him seeing stars.

But I was racking my brain for a couple more small forwards to make the poll a little more interesting.

Maybe he can be first named in the “Most Hated” poll?

  24. Motts is a very cranky Carlton supporter right now. I’m not calling for the coach’s head though – the players need to learn some basic skills.

    0

    0
      1. Nup, he’s shown he can knock off the best (Carlton has beaten every team in the comp on Ratts’ watch). Its the players that need to be accountable for the kind of shit that got served up today.

    1. Shouldn’t you be looking looking to bring SOS back to the club, whether it be as a defensive or head coach?

      0

      0
        1. I’ve heard that SOS is a brilliant teacher/coach and a more than a handy tactician. I reckon you blokes could use someone like him.

  25. 2029 / 19 / JOEL. Not unhappy with the way the boys are going but going to struggle to win the Highest Score in the League for the Year award that went to a bloke (G’day Tel) that scored 2,457 last week. It’s worth a pineapple. Bugger.

Webberley, Sandi and Pav to come.

      1. Yeah, I made a calculated gamble to wear his donut instead of using up my last trade. I’m running 2nd, 1st & 5th and thought it worth the gamble.
I hope to use it in the finals on one of Selwood, Joey, Chappy or Roo. Am leaning towards Selwood.

      0

      1. Next weeks game against Freo will be the decider for that 4th possies, unless the Dees knock them off but the way it’s lookin, I don’t think so. You’re boyz should finish in the top 2, I didn’t see that one coming, congats.
