    Already celebrating a GF win with a lead of 162. Got Boomer to come, whilst my opponent (who must be seething) has Boomer and Hitchdick.

  5. Highly annoyed that Selwood and Enright got dropped. Still a half decent score…2077/21/GAJ :). With Harvey left i should hopefully reach the 2200 mark to finish off a good year.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ->This is my 2nd team and was wondering if anyone could help.
    2003/20/Goddard with Harvey and Gourdis to go.
    my opponent is on 1664 and has Schulz, Chaplin, Martin, Graham, Boak and Cornes. What does anyone think about this situation?
    1. Far too many Port players in there to cause any great concern for mine. Boomer should crack the ton easy today so you should be sweet!
  6. 2179/22/GAJ
    Absloute cracking game by Ablett who helped out massively after I copped the withdrawals of Enright, Kenelly & Selwood. Had cover for Selwood however no defence cover. Esky has been dusted off and the slab is at the ready as my opponent has 1,741 with Boomer to play and some tigers nuffy…Bring it on…
  7. 2136/22/Gaj, Had two donuts with Enright and Joel pulling out the last minute, I’m done and dusted. Should win my GF so this year hasn’t been a complete loss.
  8. 1736 / 20 / GAJ
    Loved being at a football match yesterday and not caring about any stat other than the score. Ripping game it was too. Although you’d have to think the Hawks wanted it just that little bit more than the Pies who already had the minor premiership wrapped up.
    On another note, have already booked my flights to Sydney next week. Go Baggers!!!
  9. 2189 with Harvey to come. Season avg so far is 2232.71 so i should beat that and hopeful with all the outs people have suffered that i’ll sneak into the top 2000. Will win all 3 leagues including one that is 80th ranked league overall.
    Ecstatic with the season. Pulled the right strings most of the time. Will definitely be checking the site out in the next week or two still through force of habit!!
  10. 2204/20/GAJ. I’m so pumped. I’ve pretty much locked in two GF wins, and it’s my first year. I owe a lot to the good advice you’ve all provided over the season. Thanks so much. Go Hawks!
    1. 3 donuts in that score.
      In Dream Team, I finished with 1971 with 4 donuts and in my GF, I’m beating Daisy Thomas by 99, but he has Newman and Boomer to finish.
      1. My biggest flaw was too many silly early trades, next year I’m thinking of implementing a 6-8-6 system.
        6 in the first 8 rounds to fine tune.
        8 from 9-18 to cover injuries and fine tune
        6 from 18-22 to cover injuries, the flu, general soreness and resting players.
        What do you guys think of my plan?
        1. It doesnt matter when coaches pull players out at the last minute as you dont get to use a trade of them! Want to kill Bommer & Roos
  11. 1912/18/GOD vs 1620/18/Chapman in the grand final that I just managed to squeeze into the 8 in the last round.
    Boomer, Trengove (Port), Martin and RELTON to come… yeah I’m wearing that donut… Watson, Brown, Didak, Hodge, Enright and KEPLER all warming the pine…
    Season average is 2158.62 so I’m doubtful of challenging that this weekend.
  12. 2037/22/gaj
    Enright and Byrnes really got me, but one of my opponents had both plus kenelly.
    One SC premiership win and one runner up, pretty happy with that. Looking forward to next year with a full pre season and a round one team with no injuries. I’ll post my average once the calculations are done.
  13. 2272/21/Gaj although Im already out, no donuts and my best score for a couple of weeks. Going to lose DT GF thanks to 4 donuts compared to 2.
    Like the sound of H.G.L.B.C.O’s trade plan and might have to copy it or something like that next year.
  14. Sure were mike, I was destined to lose both my gf’s from the start, hodge dids brown, cooney and then late withdrawals of enright, Kennelly, Hitchcock, no matter how many trades u have u can’t get up from that!
  15. okie dookie, time to vent….
    i really hate you mr. t kenelley. once again you have robbed me of a win, not to mention a premiership. never, ever again will you grace the team lists of tangers united f.c.
    and to you mr. c enright and mr. a didak, you boys are weak as piss!
    what a shitty way to end a great year.
    looking forward to 2011 – see you all next year.
  16. 2111/21/GAJ
    Harvey to come.
    Thanks for Enright, Tadhg & Selwood I copped 2 doughnuts & a bad w/coast emerg. This also lost me 1 league GF, however my talent still got me thorugh to win 2 others!.
  19. What a crap final round… So many players out, scored my 3rd lowest score of the year, finished with 2020 with only 20 players played. Got smashed in my league in which I finished top of the ladder, opp scored over 2400…. Won by 18 points in my league which I wasn’t expecting to win….. So 1 premiership…. Will wait for the final average of my team, but I’ve got mixed feelings at the moment….
  20. What a stressful weekend! First my boys win in a heartstopping thriller over the Pies, then I find out that Gablett has scored the house down for my opponent. He had 4 donuts for the round but Gablett’s monstrous score covered for about 3 of those non-playing players. I was able to escape with 1 donut, but that could’ve been avoided had I have selected both my bench defenders to be emergencies (had cover for Enright but not Kennelly). GRRRR. Had a 240 point lead going into the final game and he still had 2 to play. I ended up winning by 89 points. FEW! I don’t like having to barrack for Jack Riewoldt to kick another bag of 10 goals only to find the pathetic Richmond midfield turn the ball over before it enters the F50! I need a drink!!!!
  21. Overall Avg 2176. something, Won a flag which was one of my goals for this year along with overall avg of 2100+. Still made too many trades too early and too many bad choices.
I am going to write a list of things where I need to improve on, and hopefully next year brings greater rewards…. Once again thanks a lot everyone and I look forward to next year!!
  23. 2135 and lost my $320 work league by 14 after he jagged Grimes’ 21 in his first game of the season as back up for Hodge. It obviously wasn’t meant to be for me this season as I used my last trade to bring in Joel, lost Enright and had Hendo as cover in the fwds (that 15 would have been handy) and benched NicNat for the first time this season. Ended with that score as my season average.
    Thanks to Motts et al for administering the site and especially the other regular posters for engaging in a wide array of topics that were always (well mostly) informative, humourous and respectful. Hopefully you can join in too next year Donny.
    Cheers
    1. I think I remember Donny mocking some of us for being content with teams that had Higgins and Kennelly – both were absent in the final round. Seems the kid was onto something . . . if only he had some class to go with it.
      1. Thanks boyz… It’s been a stack of fun, and my first year since moving across to SCT….. thanks for your input, the site is nothing without you guys and all the regulars contibuting. I speak to haeps of people who also read the site but don’t post, so please come back next year (no need to invite Donny Brasco back).
  24. Won 1/3 grand finals 🙁 Got smashed with late withdrawls; Kennelly, Enright and Selwood. The two grand finals I lost were the ones with money up for grabs to! Oh well, always next season. Cheers everyone for all your help. This website is great and will be bigger and better next season. Bring on season 2011!
  25. With my worst score for the year… 1888/Swan, I scraped home against my opponent (1843) who was also ravaged by injury and late widthdrawals to bring home the bacon in my primary league and picked up the $$$$$, so pretty stoked. in my secondary leage, I was flogged by someone who pretty much had a full team.
    My Bench ended up having Brown, Didak, Cooney, Hodge, Higgins… and I also had late withdrawals from Kennelly, Enright & Selwood….. I needed 80+ from Boomer and he did the job, so pretty stoked with my first SC win, a second and and a third.
    1. P.S. It was an incedibly stressful weekend, and my iphone battery needed to be recharged about 3 times….. Will never doubt GAJ as captain again (if he’s wearing blue and white hoops)
      0
      0
  26. Won 2/3 Leagues. Lost the 3rd by 7 points even when I had two players less. Should have put Peterson on instead of Gourdis….Really annoyed considering i beat every person in each round by at least 100 points except for this week.
    -Won my friends league though and thats the one that counts!
  28. Massive big-ups to Motts, Big Sexy and Duck (still got 12-odd trades left?). You guys have run the site to perfection and should be proud of the increase in readership since the start of the year. I ended up being as addicted to this site as SC itself. And thanks to all the regulars, semi-regulars and one-off mavericks who made this site worth visiting as often as I did. Go tiges!
  30. Great year for The Velvet Fog! Ave score of 2285, enough to finish in 110th spot overall!
    Won 2 out of 3 grand finals with a score of 2400 this week. Pretty still to lose the 1 game by 73 points.
    CARN THE CATS!!!
  31. Ave score of 2089 in the first year with a shocking run of LTI’s and some dodgy scores towards the end , a grand final loss after losing dids , cooney, hodge and tadgh and copping two noughts . Cheers for all the help during the season all . Look Foward to next year
  32. A big thanks to Motts, Duck and BS for this great site and the hard work they put into helping us (the punters) out, throughout the SC season. And thanks also to all the SC folk with their insight and banter as well, it’s been a blast 😛 and I can’t wait til 2011.
    Cheers, PA.
