Progress Scores – Rd4

Written by Schwarzwalder on April 14 2019

Another early start, another long weekend of SuperCoach.  Hore was a late IN and performed admirably while Gawn was unfazed with Preuss in the side.  Grundy amassed 60 hitouts and 160pts for those that used the VC loophole.  Were you lucky enough to start with him?

Gawn should’ve scored 150+, Oliver really should’ve tonned up. Whats up with CD thus year? 19 disposals and 55 hitouts for 112? 33 disposals 20 contested at 60% for 86??

Happy with Hore and Heeney while Lloyd did his thing.

    1. Totally agree re cd scoring. How do we raise the heat for them to be held accountable for and explain scoring this year. The rules seem to have changed. Gawn and Oliver completely changed that game.

  2. Sorry guys not really related.

I have dusty and Greene. I’m thinking of trading them to brad crouch & worpel.

Thoughts or alternatives would be appreciated.

  3. Not keen on this trade sorry Johny. I very much doubt Crouch will be a top 10 mid by seasons end. Worpel I’d say is a chance but not a certainty.
Therefor you are bringing in two players who are likely going to be traded out come seasons end anyway.
I’d be looking at 1up 1down. You’ve just missed the boat on Wagner. Stack from Richmond looks Good, although you’d rather wait a week on him.

    Uber premo 110pts pw + rookie 60pts pw =170pts pw & 650-700k spend
    Best case Crouch + Worpel = 200pts pw & 850k spend.

Imo a trade saved and an extra 200k in the bank is the better option

fairly happy, besides the obvious Oliver.
But looks like most people are in the same boat.

God I love Tom Papley, but maybe not enough to persist with him after this week.

Brayshaw less than I hoped for but I still think he’s a keeper this year.

Hopefully Macrae pumps out a big one tonight!

Happy with Lloyd, but let down with Oliver and Gawn. Oliver has been a massive let down this year 🙁

  7. Have decided to keep Fyfe so have the issue of who to play onfield. Unfortunately its slim pickings.

    TU – take Wagner’s 59
TD – roll dice on Atkins
Comment – need to trade Fyfe

Heeney was good, Gawn ok for his standards, Brayshaw a little disappointing.

Left Hore on the bench, hopefully it does not come back to bite me.

Took Vc off Grundy on Friday morning.

Funny how luck plays a role in supercoach. My captain choices so far:

R1 Grundy into Oliver = Fail

R2 Rocky into Cogs = Super Fail (Cogs went from 150 R1 to 52, Oliver 140+)

R3 Oliver into Rocky = Epic fail Rocky concused (Oliver 95 against the Dons…)

R4 Heeney VC = Yay!!!!, finally in business. Hope my luck has turned , I learned a good lesson : trying to be clever doesnt work in supercoach !!! I created my bad luck.
PS. Rage traded Rocky for Libe. No more speculations

Great start, still relying on some rookies to carry me through to a big score though…..
Bines becoming as reliable as Olango as a captain

Alright considering Dunkley, Crisp & Moore 70-80 & Oliver 80-90

Grundy as VC thanks to Scott being dropped

Captain Bines at it again 4 weeks in a row! Gawn’s and Grundy’s score still to be added. Dunkley and Oliver holding it back, need them to pick up their game. For Dunkley to do that he needs assistance from FULB as he isn’t getting any chance in the centre bounce. Almost waiting on an injury to occur.
Took a risk this week and avoided Macrae for a hopeful pricedrop. Started well, hopefully Zerrett backs up the other side

Even with Satan Oliver’s 87, I’m pretty happy right now. Can rely on the rest of my premos to score well, just need Darling, Steele and the rookies to pump out some respectable scores.

Will consult you again next week…and the week after.

  15. Have Neale as vice and Cripps as captain

Was going to loophole Bines on as captain after Neales 131 but had a brain fade and didn’t realise Gawn and Grundy are already locked.

Can loophole Scott on the field and take Walsh off but Scott isn’t my emergency. Atkins is.

    Do I:
T/U: Take Neales 131 as captain and Atkins 68, with Walsh off field
T/D: Go Cripps captain and keep Walsh on field

  16. So I have Drew’s 61 (emergenced) on my bench. For this round it’s a respectable rookie score.
I also have Parker and setterfield on the ground yet to play.
I also have josh Corbett on bench waiting to get back from injury, so I can loophole forward rookies.
So who do you think scores the LESS?

    Tu, drew.
    Td, Parker.
Comment, setterfield. (thumb up to be nominated for lowest score)
    Thanks guys.

Time to focus on tech league I think.

    11 on field players scoring < 73.

  18. 1678/18/Cripps (C)

Still have Cripps, Walsh, Steele and Parker to come. Projected score of 2200 which appears rather reasonable. Hopefully will keep me in the top 1000.

What a downer after last week! Missed the VC on Grundy, went Macrae instead. Spewin…

Cripps, Setterfield, Walsh, Billings, Steele, Parker, Scrimshaw and Collins still to play. Hoping I can crack 2200.

I’m assuming most have the poor performers on field this round. Kelly stings and not having heeney and llyod again stings a bit too.
Only have cripps, Walsh, Collins and scrimshaw to play. I will take anything over 2000. In fact if it wasn’t for Grundy it wouldn’t happen this week. Scrimshaw a late out would be okay so I can take hore’s score

  21. 1620/17/Neale
Cripps, Walsh, Billings, Parker & Collins
    Took vc of Grundy
Missed taking Atkins score over butters and had Duursma on bench.
First week of not getting rookies right so far.
Wish I had of gone early on Mumford.

Had the VC on Neale, switched to Danger, decided to switch back to Neale…about 3 seconds after Danger was locked in.
Please be nice to me, Crippa.

  23. 1914/19/Neale (VC – kept & included)

I’m not gonna lie, this score is very unexpected. Projected to hit just north of 2200 with Cripps, Walsh, and Parker to play. Realise it’s been a tough week for some, so I’m rapt with the result so far.

SuperCoach is a funny game… I did better this week by not doing anything (eg keeping Rocky). Save your trades coaches!

Though I was in massive trouble no going Grundy vc. Luckily Neale, zerret and rocky pulled through to bolster my score.
    Hoping 2100 minimum.
Whitfield, hurn, boak now firmly trade in prioritise.

  25. Was my dusty to T Kelly a worse trade than anyone to Hoff after R1 ? Who would ever thought Danger/Kelly/Menegola to total under 160 in the one round !! My son isnt happy…he had v on Oliver and switched c to danger.
I’m hoping to limp to 2100 with six to come today, and captain Cripps. Currently 1428 🙁

Parker, Scrimshaw, Setterfield, Walsh and Cripps the last 5 to play. This could go horrible or amazing with 4 rookies playing.

  27. 1552 / 15 / Grundy

Still to come: Cripps, Newman, Walsh, Bowes, Collins, Scrimshaw, Parker.

Projected is 2159 but with only one true premium remaining it’s hard to tell. Bowes as a super left field option better deliver a ton. Left field but it allowed a double trade that nabbed me Whitfield with little coin in my kitty. Bowes isn’t likely a keeper but at 400K and averaging 100 he could net me 100K or he could even stay as my M9 by season’s end.

  29. 1946/19/ Grundy

    Played: C Oliver, I Heeney, B Grundy (C), D Moore, P Dangerfield, C Constable, T Atkins, Z Williams, L Whitfield, Z Merrett, L Neale, Z Butters, W Drew, X Duursma, T Goldstein, R Sloane, B Smith, R Laird and J Darling

Yet to play: S Collins, S Walsh, W Setterfield

Very happy with the current performance as well as T Atkins filling in for N Fyfe. Didn’t expect Z Merrett to outscore the combination of P Dangerfield, Z Butters and Z Williams. Hopefully can manage a 2150+.

Not looking good. Got Cripps, Walsh, Steele and Scrimshaw left to play. Best case scenario is just hitting 2100.

Butters, Petruccelle, Danger, Williams and Satan Oliver have cost me this round.

I know its a low scoring round, but I just think what could of been.

I have made two “correctional” trades so far, both before R3.

    Trade 1 ; Mundy to T Kelly

    Trade 2: Hore to Butters.

Both seemed like great moves yet seems they have turned to $#%T.

Pretty happy Rocky played, as I thinking of getting in Sheed.

I will warn you all as to my next trades, as I feel I maybe the kiss of death!

    1. Ooof, Mundy to Kelly and Hore to Butters. That’s rough, FT.

Kelly will outscore Mundy long term though, don’t worry.
