Punters Club – BOB

Written by Motts on November 16 2013

BOB reckons he’s found a good thing in the 3rd at Caulfield today – the 1800m Eclipse Stakes.

No, it’s not Rain Drum. Nor is it Bel Thor. Mouro with Oliver on it’s back? Pfffft. Not our BOB.

Nope, you’re not gonna win BIG on any of those and BOB’s all about winning BIG.

Here’s what Best Bets says about our selection: “Resumes. Lightly-raced G3 winner at home. Seems to like rain-affected ground. The form around him reads well.”

His form DOES look good:
1-4 TIPP 2500 3/5/12
1-5 TIPP 2500 24/5/12
1-7 CURR 2800 1/7/12
2-5 CURR 2800 25/8/12
8-9 CURR 2800 15/9/12

That’s Tipperary and Curraugh in Ireland for those unfamiliar with The Emerald Isle. But as you can see, he hasn’t raced since September last year and he does seem to like the longer distances – he’s never raced at 1800m before.

He’s a Lloyd Williams horse, he’s part owned by Michael Gudinski, he’s trained by Robert Hickmott, and today he’ll be ridden by Ben Melham (who gave up a ride on Bel Thor for the opportunity to ride him).

But wait, there’s more. SEN’s resident tipster, the inimitable Jason ‘Richo’ Richardson, yesterday tipped him on KB’s Morning Show.

BOB’s bet today is $30 each way on #3 Hartani in the 3rd at Caulfield. I’ve fixed it at $9.50/$2.75 meaning that if this plucky Irish colt can salute, we’ll bank $367.50.

Go you good thing!

  1. Here’s my bet of the day, currently paying $2.90 with Ladbrokes. A draw in the first test. Have a look at Brisbane’s forecast over the next 4 days.

Next question, may i publish a league code on here for Fox Sports fantasy ashes if people are interested, we have about 25 in it already (majority from the uk so it would be good for banter if we had some of your lot too) it’s associated with a new fantasy football (soccer to you) site i’m involved with (Similar to this one). I dont want to take liberties and advertise on here without asking, though i will ensure near the start of Supercoach next year, i will get your site a plug.
