Punters Club – TDA & OMG

Written by Motts on October 28 2014

The Death Adder and Old Mate Geoff are teaming up to win us a ton of money on Cup Day. They’ve pooled their $50 stakes and are so keen they’re already sending bets through to me. You’ve gotta love enthusiasm!

Truth is, they want to take advantage of what they hope will be inflated odds before final fields are announced. Its a calculated risk because its All In Betting but its one the boys are happy to take.

So their first bets are all on the Cup Winner into the Oaks Winner:

Admire Rakti into Crafty – $10 @ 19

Lucia Valentina into Crafty – $5 @ 24

Fawkner into Crafty – $5 @ 37

UPDATE: And here’s the rest of their bets:

$10 the win on 22 Lucia Valentina

$10 the win on 24 Signoff.

Box Quinella on 1, 3, 4, 5, 11, 22 and 24 – $20 buys 95.24%

Flexi trifecta on 1, 3, 22 & 24 to win / 1, 3, 22 & 24 to come 2nd / 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, 21, 22 & 24 to come 3rd – $20 buys 15.15%

Flexi trifecta on 1, 3, 22, 24 to win / 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, 21, 22 & 24 for 2nd / 1, 3, 22 & 24 for 3rd – $20 buys 15.15%

Good luck fellas!

For our $60 bonus bet,ย based on the results of the poll (and a little bit of my own judgement), here’s the trifectaย we’re on:

1st – 1, 3, 5, 22

2nd – 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 13, 22, 24

3rd – 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 20, 21, 22, 24

$60 bought 13.89%

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

  1. Futures bets and doubles are always risky as the punters who would have had The Offer in futures doubles when it was favourite would know.

Hopefully none of ours suffer the same fate and we at least a run for our money. Let’s especially hope Crafty has no hiccups as I let Geoff make a call on it as anchor with him having a couple of live doubles into it after already getting 1st legs up.

They will be the only futures bets we will have. The focus will be mainly on exotics with a box quinella and a few flexi trifectas which Motts will most likely recieve Cup Eve.

If anyone has any mail or fancies a roughie please post and it could find itself in an exotic bet. Bonsai enjoyed your write up in your punters club post and will consider the horses you recommendated and Red Cadeaux will be in.

  2. Case in point with the all-in betting: a friend had alot of money riding on Chautauqua in the Manikato Stakes. He was withdrawn, not due to injury, due to a change of heart from the trainer. Thought it’d be better for him to stay fresh for the Darley Classic on Stakes Day. That’s alot of cash lost with the horse not even taking to the track. Anyways……
Having said that, no objection from me with those doubles, Ads. Have heard nothing but praise for Crafty. And Lucia Valentina’s run in the CC was huge (God bless youtube). Good luck!!

  3. Whilst Man United have had a tough start to the season, they now have a derby against Man City who seemingly can’t defend at the moment.

My bet’s for this weekend consist of

Man United to win at 3/1
Man United 2 Man City 0 at 28/1

Far from a cert, but IMO they are a far better chance than the odds suggest.

  4. Anyone in touch with Bob? What’s the go with Lord Barrington tomorrow? Any chance at those huge odds?
Just for the record, I took Crafty (Oaks) into Chautauqua (Darley Classic) at $12. Here’s hoping the trainer doesn’t change his mind again ๐Ÿ˜‰
Good luck with the Cup, Ads!

  5. All the best TDA & OMG, got a few of your bets on. I’m sticking with Fawkner and Lucia Valentina in the cup, have a few more bets as the day goes on. Hope we all have a great punting day.

  6. Gutted Cavalryman was scratched. Followed it since it’s big UK win & i reckon it had the legs to come home strong. Surely 1, 3, 4, 5, 22 & 24 will all be right up there at the finish.

  7. Good punting Motts with that group trifecta not betting against us and covering with Protectionist and Who shot the Barman that I said to you I was worried about and had a tip the place on Sunday!!!
We missed but managed to get the quinella which was our saver.

  8. Good stuff again Motts! A good result overall having made a profit with $200 of free bets.
You softened the blow for us who are a shade disappointed but glad we didn’t have a wipe out.
No pressure Motts but you will be going for 3 trifectas in a row in the main races after you personally got the derby and todays cup trifecta. Flexi again I reckon.

  9. We no luck on the cup, yet again, I’m gonna stick to what I know, soccer! Just put some money in Real/Arsenal/Drommend to all win. I have a larger multi as well but just think these three are certanties
