Punting Pt 2

Written by Motts on May 5 2011

Copped a bit of criticism for not providing enough value in the multi provided in Punting Part 1 so I’ve addressed the situation here. Tell me what you think.

Gold Coast Suns v Brisbane – Gold Coast +50.5 – 1.91

This bottom of the ladder clash will be closer than the line indicates I think. Both teams have a lot of pride to play for in front of their home crowds and the GC boys will want to atone for the smashing they got last week. Give ‘em a 50 point head start and I reckon they’re good value.

West Coast v Essendon – Either Side 1-39 or Draw – 1.62

Remember last time these 2 met in R16 when LeCras went cuckoo for 12 goals to win his team the match? He’s off the injured list and he’ll be playing this game. Having said that, he’s coming up against a vastly different outfit under J Hird. I should go the Dons but WC are also markedly improved on last year ……tri-bet.

Adelaide v Melbourne – Either Side 1-24 or Draw – 1.90

Melbourne is another team with its back to the wall this week. The coach is under siege and the boys will want to win it for him. But despite their record, I prefer the Crows in this match. Given the showers that are predicted to be around on Sunday and the fact that games between these 2 teams are usually pretty close at the ‘G I’ve gone the 1-24 tri.

St Kilda v Carlton – Carlton -15.5 – $1.91

I’ve got no idea which St Kilda is going to show up and I was tempted to go the tri-bet again but if it’s the crappy Saints they’ll get pumped and the margin will blow out like it did when they played in the corresponding round last year (61 points). So I’m going to show some faith in my boys and give them a 15 point hurdle to get over. Don’t let me down fellas.

Total – $11.23

  1. This week ive gone with two multi’s. They are
    MULTI Odds: 2.42

    Mighty Blues
    MULTI Odds: 5.41

Really hoping Freo beat Tigers! 🙂

  2. How bout this one for size (with sportsbet):

    Hawks win.
Bulldogs, Swans either side of 15.5.
    Geelong -40
    Freo win.
    Gold Coast +46.5
    Essondon win.

    Paying 19.84.
The Bulldogs, Swans is the shaky link. Hoping for a close one.

  3. I’m actually tipping Port now.
The ins and outs are way in Port’s favour, no Cyril really hurts Hawks and it was evident in the lasat quarter against Geelong.

  4. Alright boys and girls. Multi for the weekend is in, locked and loaded and ready to go:

    Hawthorn WIN $1.20
    Western Bulldogs 1-39 $2.35
    Geelong -15.5 $1.18
    West Coast +39.5 $1.56
    $10 @ $5.19

If the first 3 legs get up I’ll hedge it with a bet on Essendon -39.5
    Hoping the Dogs get up!!
