Punting R17, 2013

Written by Motts on July 18 2013

I’ve noticed there hasn’t been as much interest in the Punting posts of late so I’m gonna run a quick poll this week – and don’t be afraid to hurt my feelings; I’m a big bloke and I can take it. If there’s no desire for these posts we’ll come up with something else instead.

Should I continue with the punting posts? (multiple responses allowed)

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

  1. Keep em coming Mottsy, don’t always follow your bets but you’ve won me a couple bob this year when you’ve uncovered a gem.

If you like doing them keep doing them. The folks who don’t like it don’t have to read it mate.

  3. Not a punter myself so can’t say I’ve read many of the punting posts, although I do appreciate others may be into it, and the work that goes into making the posts themselves.

I’d be more interested if it were how the markets are shaping for the Brownlow, flag, Coleman, club B&Fs and stuff like the Melbourne coaching job as it’s more a reflection of where people are at on general footy issues.

    But that’s just me.

Like the BigRuss said, I’m not going to say don’t post them, if you’re not into it, just don’t read them.

Keep up the good work regardless guys!

  4. Yeah im super keen on a punt, and cant hurt to know what others are thinking, just been too embarassed to post after getting the gwd/ port game horribly wrong. Im having good success with 3 way multis on the footy…except last week when i had melbourne with a 67.5 head start as the final leg of my multi. Saw a $450 collect go down by half a friggen point!

  5. I always check your tips before I put my bets on for the weekend, regardless of how much I agree, it’s still appreciated.

If you want to make it more SC orientated, Sportsbet put out SC markets. It’s been making me more cash than normal punting, AND improved my SC performance. eg last week, Sidebottom to outscore Cloke paid 1.80 and Selwood to outscore Bartel paid 1.88

  6. Always interested to see what everyone is tipping. Pity the thread isn’t so popular here. Liking the suggestion for betting on Supercoach duels…….

    Hawks 40+
    Bombers 40+
    Pies 1-39

  10. I’ve had a look at SC head to heads and my top 5:

Judd over GIbbs – last time they played NM Judd scored 159 vs Gibbs 74. Judd’s last 3 avg is 112 vs 83 for Gibbs

Cotchin over Martin – Cotchin av against Freo is 104 vs 79 for Martin. Cotchin last 3 avg is 107 vs Dusty 93.

Goddard over Stanton – Goddard avg vs GWS is 109 vs 57 for Stanton.

Selwood over Bartel – Selwood is a champ, and will take his and Stevie J’s points here. SJ av Adel is 121 v JB of 105.

Priddis over Masten – When Shuey plays, Priddis outscores Masten (usually). Last time they played Syd Priddis scored 128 to Masten’s 90.
