Punting R23

Written by Motts on August 25 2011

Here’s my bets for each game of the upcoming round. Multi ’em up as you see fit:

Collingwood -70.5             1.92

Hawthorn -42.5                 1.92

Geelong -50.5                     2.10

North +18.5                         1.44

West Coast -25.5                2.10

Adelaide -21.5                     2.10

Gold Coast +60.5               1.40

Port +90.5                           1.33

If you threw ’em all into a multi, it’d pay $91.53 per unit.

  1. After two consecutive weeks of winning on the punt i’ve followed it up with two consecutive weeks of losing on the punt. Still ahead for the season though which is important. Thinking the long multi’s are killing me so i’m going to go conservative this week with a few shorter multi’s and a few individual bets. Not sure what yet, that’ll be tonight after i see what teams like West Coast and Hawthorn put up on the selection table.

  2. On the punt, do people think Sydney will lift to show support for McVeigh or will the weight of an emotional few days be too much and they’ll play poorly??

  3. Off topic… Can someone confirm if Syliva accepted his 2 match ban… Haven’t seen anything since initial mrp.

  5. Ok. Never laid a footy bet in my life and I think I have worked out the +- stuff and here goes for what I think it means with your bets Mottsey.

Collingwood to win by less than 70.5 points
Hawks to win by less than 42.5 points
North to lose but not by more than 18.5 points.
Port to lose but not by more than 90.5 points.

Is that right as a summary?

  6. Hey Juddy, the plus is a head start for the underdog team i.e Freo at +70.5
means that the Pies cant win by more than 70 points any other result such as Freo win or a draw and the bet will pay out

  7. Might be a little biased here but think $3 for the Tigers against the Crows is definitely overs. The boys have got a bit of their confidence back and I’m not sold on the crows’ ‘turnaround’, the teams they have actually beaten the last month have not been quality
