2013 Byes

Punting R9

by Motts on May 24, 2012

If this is Thursday and its lunchtime, then its time for a punting post.

Its been a tough couple of weeks but there is always value to be had. Here’s who I like this week:

Geelong -24

Hawthorn -24

Gold Coast +30

Sydney v St Kilda – either team by 39 or less

Essendon 40+

Adelaide

Brisbane +40

Carlton -25

West Coast -12

Not sure what its paying yet because I’m writing this post on Monday night but I’m sure it’d cover my rent for the week if I put $10 on it.

Who do you like?

I had a win last week so I am going to re-invest the winnings into a few multis and see how we go with a tenner on each

Secodary bet: H2H Pies/Bris/GC $30.25
Third bet: Essendon by 80-99 pts $6.00
Last bet: Cats over 39.5/Blues over39.5/Dons 1-79/ Saint under 39.5 $14.72

Interested to see you have backed the Pies Juddy? Obviously I think we will win. We rarely lose to the crows, we love to travel and we love Aami, but with our key injuries, you seem to be the only nuetral giving us a chance so far.

Elaborate? We have a rich history of getting the job done on the road. We may only travel 4-5 times a years, but that’s not our fault. However, when we do travel, the players are quoted as saying that they enjoy the bonding of an away trip and we always deliver good performances as a result.

I don’t want to make this in to another Collingwood argument, but sorry mate, even a layman knows about the ‘pies form on the road.

What happened to that “rich history” in 1995,96,97,98,99,2000,04,05?
Was there “bonding” issues?

Lets face it, good teams win wherever they’re playing.

“but that’s not our fault” the comedy is gold though!

I’ve noticed that you haven’t mentioned any years after 2005. 7 years of brilliant form on the road with the current group is history IMO. So Essendon’s shocking recent travel history isn’t history?

DavePies/FlagPies May 25, 2012 at 3:29 pm

2 years ago you traveled interstate a total of 3 times.. Yep, 3!! We used to go interstate 4 times due to a 14 game MCG contract and a 4 game Etihad contract. It’s not our fault that we don’t sell out home games away like Hawthorn and poor clubs like WB, melbourne, NM etc.

Using didn’t travel ’til round 8 is a shocking argument. That means all of our away games were in the run home to finals, I’d rather play them all in the first half of the year you gimp!

All this proves is that Dazz has the time on his hands to go and look through two clubs interstate history for the last 6 or so years. What a bum!! Dazza takes the bait and Flaggy walks away knowing that his time has been better spent getting ripped, drinking beers and rooting chicks!

2 points:

1/ The Pies travelled to Etihad stadium just 3 weeks ago. People should give them a break.

2/ Blues are 100% interstate this year.

I’m not neutral. I hate Collingwood as much as I hate Carlton. However, the pies are a great side and even though Adelaide beat a Carlton side that was very fragile in the mids (take away the mids and they are not that good) they haven’t really beaten a strong overall team. In saying that Iay change my mind tommorrow when the sides are out.

@DavePies/FlagPies
I’ll mention anybody who is likley to give me an informed opinion or positive feedback which is obviously something that nobody is going to get from you. Facts and figures are obviously out of your comprehension range so I will simplify it for you….
When Collingwood is going well people like you are more than willing to spit vitriol through the gaps in your teeth and give absolutely no value to a site like this one because of your arrogance in believing that you are better than anyone else while the rest of us know that the collective IQ of your entire supporter base equals that of used sperm in a toilet bowl. When Collingwood is going shit you still have gaps in your teeth, you are still stupid but at least you are a little quieter which makes you tolerable at best.
I will make an exception for the few Collingwood supporters that do contribute to this site in a positive manner and do not attempt to shit on others simply because they are smegma like yourself.

Have a nice day :-)

Hahaha! You have just listed stereotypes! Nice one. For your information, I’m actually a PE teacher and I’m probably the best PE teacher the world has ever seen. I have a full set of white and straight teeth that I was born with and I also head out on the weekend and pick up glamor after glamor for my troubles. And I have been a Collingwood member through some very dark times and I’ve still maintained my arrogance the whole time. No matter what form we are in, we are still the biggest club in the land and we are better than anyone else. Collingwood supporters are born into a family of black and white and it is our role to act and know that we are superior to anyone else that isn’t a magpie. Awww yeah magpie.life. Flaggy is here to stay. Come and get it!

Be wary of the travel factor with the Saints. A trip to perth usually knocks most Vic teams around so that they are flat the following week #justsayin

My Multi Bet

Gold Coast 1-39 ($3.25)
Brisbane 1-39 ($4.20)
Collingwood 1-39 ($3.20)

Multiplied odds: $44

My Reasoning

Gold Coast (this game is at metricon and the suns have put up some very strong performances against some formidable opponents here already. they nearly beat essendon and fremantle and i think they will cause an upset against the power)

Brisbane (I think they will have gained some much needed confidence after their thrashing of GWS and i think that will translate to belief in their ability to win. I honestly think they have what it takes to beat north in a close game).

Collingwood (travels really well and are in red hot form, people are forgetting they were in the grand final last year and are writing them off too quickly, adelaide is going amazing but someone is going to cool them off and i think it will be collingwood).

I have a quick one for those in the know. I just went to the TAB to put on my bets and with a loose $10 I put on an accumulator line bet. Without knowing a lot about it I just tipped a few of the things on the screen and ended up with the following
Bulldogs +29.5 (does this mean the Bullies can either win or get within 29 points of Geelong and it is still good?)
Richmond +22.5
Gold Coast +15.5
Collingwood +12.5
GWS +70.5
Brisbane +24.5
Melbourne +52.5
Fremantle +17.5

I just went “stuff it” it has a return of $156.33 so if it comes in then I’ve lost 10 bucks but I would like a little clarification.

Pies win
Essendon win
Bulldogs win
For a return of $311
My thoughts are that i pocket the $211 winnings and reinvest my $100 and go a little more risky.
Hawks win
Syd win
Adel win
West Coast win
$100 @ $4.70
