Punting

Written by Motts on March 22 2011

We here at SCT don’t mind a bet. And whilst we’re not going to shove the whole sports betting thing down your throats, its Tuesday night and I haven’t got a Movers post to write yet so I thought I’d quickly duck into Luxbet and have a look around.

Here’s what I threw a blue swimmer at:

Carlton over Richmond into

Collingwood over Port into

The Dogs over Essendon into

Sydney over Melbourne into

North over West Coast.

Paying $10.70. Free money.

What do you think? Have I just thrown my $10 away or am I onto something? What other bets do you like the look of for this round? For the year?

  1. Love your work Motts.

I’d agree that Carlton (go Blues), Pies, Dogs and Swans are locks, but wouldn’t be too confident on North. They did win last start there but you’d think the Coasters will surely be hard to beat on their home turf against an injury depleted North.

As for the year, I can’t believe everyone seems to have dropped off Freo? Out to $15 to win the Flag which is good value for a side that finished top 4 last year and has a young improving list. Having said that don’t think they can beat the Pies but you can have $18 a purple haze/pie GF.

  2. Motts, I love a punt, and wouldn’t mind dropping a few hairy pineapples at the start of the season…. Got any good tips for me?

  3. What are your thoughts on the Blues this year Motts? I live in hope but have to admit concern that our backline will contain three blokes (Duigan, Laidlaw, Watson) who weren’t even here last year and Chrissy Y who I have grave reservations on.

P Roos made a good point last night on Talking Footy – he looked great in the Nab Cup and challenge games when no one tags, but wait until he gets isolated at full back one on one…

  4. Swap the Roos for the Eagles Motts. If we can’t win that one with their injuries then I’ll start carving the 2011 spoon.

  5. I just put $25 on buddy for coleman and a sneaky $25 multibet on Carlton, Pies, Dogs and West Coast to all win @ $3.90.
