I’d say that I’m in a similar situation to a few others, in that I had the VC on Swan tonight. Should I keep the 130 or take a chance with someone else?
Maybe Ablett or Watson.
130 is right in that uncertain zone. Any more and I’d definitely keep it, any less and I’d run with someone else
Probably going to go and bank Swanny’s score, gonna wait to see how JPK performs as he’s the VC of my biggest match this week and then truly decide whether to go for the GAJ or the Swan.
Decided to get rid of Terlich over Macaffer to bring Nic Nat in this week, based on Macaffer having an extra week to mature. Looking good atm, but with a player down in the middle I’m looking stretched on the league fronts.
Macaffer did a lovely job to bring Hanley’s price down during the bye rounds.
Zorko and Pendles I’m pleased with, Stakers 67 will do, disappointed with Hanley though. Still need to decide who to C or if I should just take Pendles VC score.
Not a great start mainly thanks to Hanley having a stinker. McCafe is accumulating points himself but killing me with his tagging! Joelwood, Kennedy and now Hanley 😡
Macaffer does a more than impressive job of filling in for Tom Rockliff on a few counts. One, he tons up. Two, he reduces Hanley to just 49, which should send him back under $500k and into the bargain territory for a handy trade in R13 or R14.
Staker performed adequately on debut. I’ll take a 67 for a rookie priced player in a side getting belted.
Heath Shaw played two very different halves of football. 1st half: 19 points, 2nd half: 78 points for a total of 97.
Scotty Pendlebury and Dane Swan both up to their usual tricks and will continue to perform well with the following run of games:
Melbourne, WB, BYE, Port, Carlton, Adelaide, GC, GWS.
It’s always nice going to sleep on Friday night with a better than a 100 average per player. Happy days.
Undecided on captain just yet..really want to win my league and both have ablett and pendles as c/vc…should i risk it and hope that stevie brings the bickies???
Boys this is the week I have Motts in the draft league the Big C is on Buddy. If ablett get less than 130 Buddy got the C send as many dis likes as you want but be prepared to eat your words Monday. YEP I AM DRUNK that is what Tequila shots and Johnny Walker black will do to you
He was puffing more than Thomas the Tank Engine and forget about using the calipers for those skinfolds, the fitness team need an adjustable wrench for that guts!
No way I am bringing him in until he has his annual high altitude sabbatical. 130 points against a second rate team with their best five players out is fools gold. A fit Swan would have delivered 180+ in a game like that with no attention.
Confession time. I stuffed up & put the E on McAffer. Logic was that opponents likely to start him & could put Rowe on field to pick up his score if he went big.
Now worried about JJ Kennedy (WC) or even Buddy (v Melb) being a late withdrawal which would mean a 0.
Thumbs UP: Rowe on the field (Neade unused on bench) to pick up 100
Thumbs DOWN: JJ Kennedy not playing until Monday, teams not out until after Rowe plays in the early game today.
Do I go with the 119 of pendels, or do i go with Stevie J, Selwood, Cotchin, JPK or priddis. I just get the feeling selwood is going to punch out a massive score.
What should i do?
Looking ahead to the byes strategy, Blikvas (rnd 12 bye) to Maric (rnd 11 bye) is probably going to be approx. 160K upgrade. It would cover for Nic Nat & Cox in Rnd 12 + allow one of the WC rucks to bolster forward line from there on in.
Is Maric still struggling with the ankle or after this weeks game v WC & then the bye is he likely to be back to full fitness & back to early season / last season form?
Other option is Minson in for Blikvas for a 100K more (570 v 470K). Ideally i want to end off having any 2 of Minson, Maric, McEvoy or Goldy in the rucks with Nic Nat & Cox providing 110 ave playing forward + being forward rucks. Roughie another option, but prefer perma ruck due to Hawks rotation policy & higher variance in his scores when he is not rucking.
Swan’s score was nice, but I was always planning to go with Johnson unless he got to 150 due to Johnson’s history against weak opposition.
However, I’ve woken up this morning to rather ugly weather down here and am now torn as to whether to risk it.
Anyone know how Johnson usually does scoring-wise in the wet? I can’t for the life of me remember how he does. Bartel and Selwood usually love it, but nothing is coming to mind for Stevie
Got one for you blokes, captains, which one???.Ablett playing Geelong at home? Going to be wet, will they shut him down??. Franklin at the g against Melb in wet conditions.or Minsin in Darwin against port in fine conditions, port really without a known ruck man unless they swing the hoff and others to help.as the big mince is an all round the field player and very fit.your thoughts???
just a quick question, i accidently had mayes on as emergency, but i also have kerridge as emergency so mayes didnt play but kerridge is. do i still get kerridges points? please tell me yes..
286/3/Undecided
I have no idea who to Captain
But ive narrowed it down to GAJ Jobe Dangermouse Joelwood and Buddy
Leaning towards Dangermouse or Joelwood
I like the good old days when I could pick a captain on a Friday and be done with it. Now I tear my hair out all weekend trying to decide if 131 is good enough to keep!
Ok doing some research
Joel Selwood at Skillied lastyear was as follows
144. 104. 149. 126. 111
Gary Ablett has only scored 106. and 110 against his old side
Jobe Watson hasnt played at the SCG since 2010 and scored a 98 back then but his last game against the Swans a 149 lastyear at Ethiad
Patrick Dangerfield Against Freo last year smashed out 145. and 187 but only has 2 out of a possible 5 tons at Aami this year
Buddy hasnt scored under 100 against Melbourne since 2007 and scored 140 against em last year.
After all this research i stll have no idea who ill captain. I might just go Jobe because his my HERO!!!!!!
Bad week for me with Moloney and Watson spudding it up. But how good is young Tommy Mitchell?! Looks like an absolute star already. Will definitely be keeping an eye out for him as a good DG target.
I’m fighting an uphill battle to win a single league game this round with a man down. Everyone has been servicable without blowing the game open – the only little disappointment being Watson, but I did not expect him to go big against Sydney. Still, 20 more points would’ve been nice. Rory Laird’s 122 sits on the bench with no way to get onto the field unless Birchall is a withdrawal tomorrow; but even without that score on my fielded team his price will appreciate nicely.
Four of my league opponents have gone with Gazza as captain, with Stevie J the other one. Should I take Gazza’s VC score and hope my PODS claw the victories, or should I slap the captaincy on any of these following players:
Grant Birchall
Lance Franklin
Dustin Martin
Brett Deledio
Luke Shuey
Matt Priddis
Nic Naitanui
Dean Cox
Thumbs up: Keep it on Gazza
Thumbs down: Slap it on someone else (Nic-Nat front runner to recieve it atm)
Comment if I should pick someone else.
In a bit of trouble this week. A few ‘premiums’ have been stinking it up. Namely Hanley, Joelwood (the ducker is really starting to p!ss me off), Mundee, BJ and Jobe). With the ranking sure to take a tumble, looks like the best I can hope for is 2200.
Did a last second trade of Heath >> Heartless. I’ll take the 86 points + better coverage over the bye period. Now I’m hoping Terlich is a late withdrawal. 😉
Happy I brought in Stevie J, a little ironic that I dumped Jacobs for him this week and Sammy outscored him – but you have to laugh at things like that.
Never taking the C off the Little Master again, at the very least, have the VC and Loophole him in.
only poor performance has been watson (goddard too i guess) this week and of course he was captain. would love for both birch and nic nat to go nuts. would really help. nervous terlich gets dumped though with no back up.
special mention to rory laird. awesome performance. happy with 133 from minson on debut too. going to enjoy his consistent 120’s for the rest of the season
1590 / 15 / GAJ
Have used the Emergency Loophole (Trademark Pending) 3 times this weekend already against Big Sexy in my cash league: once on Macaffer (100), once on Laird (122) and I’ve just moved Cox off the field and Currie on to grab Blicavs’ 107. Poor BS must be pulling his hair out. He’s 1522 / 15 / GAJ and has had 3 73’s clog up his midfield: Murphy, Watson and Selwood – what are the chances of that?!? Only reallly poor performer so far has been Moloney – he’s gone next week. Minson – you are a champion. Nice to have you on board.
Birchall, Buddy, Maric, Dusty, Priddis, Cox , JJ Kennedy & Terlich to play
Thinking of using Blicavs 107 & whacking Maric on the pine via the loophole, I’m starting to think he’ll find it difficult v Coxy & NicNat over there in WA!
T/U………Take the 107
T/D………Take the risk on Maric doing better
1742/GAJ
Buddy, priddis, jj Kennedy, Nic Nat & cox to go. Got blikvas 107 as emergency. Query is whether to put currie on field & bench Cox (or Nic Nat?)
Thumbs UP: keep as emerg, Nic Nat + cox should both ton up.
Thumbs DOWN: take 107 & bench Cox.
1. Make Gary Ablett captain with 129?
2. Take Blicavs’ 107, benching Goldstein or Cox?
After those two changes it would read: 1549/14/GAJ
Will most likely run with that, probably benching Dean Cox with his last 4 against Richmond reading 82, 78, 78, 93. He does have the capacity to go massive though (171 in R3), so it is somewhat of a risk. Goldstein has pumped out 111, 109 and 138 in his last three against the Saints.
Thumbs UP: Bench Cox
Thumbs DOWN: Bench Goldstein
Let me know if I’m being foolish taking Blicavs’ 107 over either of them, as both are averaging 111-112.
Just going at the moment….Nothing great but nothing terrible…..A few to come…Contemplating E loophole with Blicavs ….What about Jobe? His doesnt muck around …In all his games he’s either scored under 80 or over 120….Nothing in between…
1798/16/Ablett
Cotchin, Martin, Cox, Kennedy, Priddis, M. Jones to come.
Honorable mention to the big Blicavs! Belts out a tonne on his tour championship debut! Also, if you don’t have Will Tonneson, please delete your team. The name says it all. Just banks tonnes!
Shocking round with so many duds. But well done to GAJ, Boomer, Pendles, JPK, Fyfe, Zorko, Kreuzer, Birchall, Heppell for 100+ and helping to make my score look atleast half decent.
JJK, Cox, Priddis, Martin to play tomorrow, if all play well I could push for 2250 and get my average which I’d be pretty happy with considering.
2051/19/Joelwood
Still to play Cox. Kennedy. Vlastuin
Looking at around 2300-2400
Welcome back to form Birch i know it was only Melbourne but a ton is a ton
Only disapointments so far are Jobe Joelwood. Goddard and Buddy
Below par. Now aiming for 2200 with hopefully a small tumble in the rankings. You know you’re in for a tough weekend when your opponent’s Ben Kennedy (78) outscores your Hanley (49).
With Dusty -Nic Nat- Cox -JKK- Priddis _Vluistin to come I’m hoping to creep over 2300…..Let see how that goes..I opted to take a risk on Cox rather than banking Blicavs 107 also….
Not a good week so far, but hey, it could have been much worse. Luckily switched the C back onto the Little Master after contemplating whacking it on Franklin. Definitely dodged a bullet there!
Moloney’s 35, Watson’s 70 (on debut) and Goddard’s below-average score definitely hit my score hard. Also have Rockliff, Daisy and deadwood rookies sitting all over my pine.
Looks like I have some serious tweaking to do before the bye next week!
1840/18/Watson. Should be a lucky escape in all leagues unless nic may gets 200, should never ever doubt Ablett! Disappointed with Watson, Hanley, selwood and the new addition Franklin but all else did well, big kudos to a black, ha been golden! Shout out to Kennedy, bartel, heppel and Pendles, welcome back birchall and westhoff and Jacobs 🙂
Michael Evans (47) really let me down today. Lance Franklin (81) really needs to pull his socks up. Obviously not going to trade him out of the team, but at the rate he’s going he could end up as F7. Todd Goldstein (120) continues to pump out the massive scores, and you can see why with all the hitouts to advantage he wins week in week out.
Birchall’s 118 will see him drop to $420k with a BE of 112. An outstanding purchase option post-bye.
Ben McEvoy’s 73 will see him plummet $43k to $484k with a BE of 162. Should be well under $450k post-bye and would represent an excellent ruck option still sporting a healthy 102.7 average.
NicNat, Shuey, Priddis, Martin & Vlastuin to come tomorrow, as I decided to go the safer option and bench Cox in favour of keeping Blicavs’ 107. SC Gold projects 2305 from here on in. Would take that.
1573/15/GAJ
only Moloney the real disappointment, some mediocre performances from Watson,Haneberry , Goddard and Selwood.finally hoping for a decent score to try and move up the rankings
1954/18/GAJ. Just checking in after a big few days. Took me 20 minutes to work out that west coast V tigers is tonight , not last night.
I,m still a bit fuzzy apparently.
1820/18 Gazza with Dusty, Vlastuin, JJK and Cox to come hoping for 2200. Jimmy welcome to my team with a 119 could not afford Stevie J so went Mayes to Bartel.
Round 12 will be looking to downgrade Blicvas and bring in Birchal.
408/4/GAJ
I’d say that I’m in a similar situation to a few others, in that I had the VC on Swan tonight. Should I keep the 130 or take a chance with someone else?

Everyone asleep Mutley is afternoon in England
Anyone see the post match interview with Swannie?
He was puffing more than Thomas the Tank Engine and forget about using the calipers for those skinfolds, the fitness team need an adjustable wrench for that guts!
No way I am bringing him in until he has his annual high altitude sabbatical. 130 points against a second rate team with their best five players out is fools gold. A fit Swan would have delivered 180+ in a game like that with no attention.
347/4
Swan: 131
Hanley: 49
Staker: 67
Macaffer: 100
Swan was my VC, do I keep him as Capt or go with Stevie J?
T/U: SWAN
T/D: JOHNSON
417/4/swan 131 VC. Option of Stevie J or Gaz for C. Probably just take the 262. Good enough.
I’ve had Swan, Pendles, MacAffer and Staker play thus far.
Good to see a Pies win. And now NZ is winning the cricket. Good sports all round!
317/3 or 417/4 (if take Macaffer’s 100).

510/6/N
Had most of my rooks played last night and Hanley was well held by Macca, so all up not a bad start to the round.
Swan as vc, like everyone above, a bit torn. Thoughts? (298/3/GaJ)
Also, do I take kennedy’s 78 in emerg loophole over o’meara given it’s down at the cattery & will be very wet?
T/U – Bank the 78
T/D – Keep O’Meara on the park fool, he’ll be the 2015 Brownlow winner
Cheers!
Got one for you blokes, captains, which one???.Ablett playing Geelong at home? Going to be wet, will they shut him down??. I was just happy to see B.Kennedy avoid the green vest and net some decent points to cover Rocky.
can i get a quick poll?
TU: Hrovat
TD: T.Mitchell
cheers
235/3/GAJ
Looks like the curse of the tagger finally caught up with my man Hanley – hope this is not a sign of things to come…
just a quick question, i accidently had mayes on as emergency, but i also have kerridge as emergency so mayes didnt play but kerridge is. do i still get kerridges points? please tell me yes..
286/3/Undecided
I have no idea who to Captain
But ive narrowed it down to GAJ Jobe Dangermouse Joelwood and Buddy
Leaning towards Dangermouse or Joelwood
Not sure what to do
Td take stakers 67 as emg and put thurlow on
Thumbs down bank on terlich geting over 67
Please help!
I like the good old days when I could pick a captain on a Friday and be done with it. Now I tear my hair out all weekend trying to decide if 131 is good enough to keep!
Thinking Neade out for Robinson to try get an extra 40 points and set up for the buys.
got 21 trades.
t/u go for it, plenty of trades
t/d don’t like Mitch, wouldn’t have him if he was getting 120’s

264/3 VC GAZ C BUDDY,
Reasonably Happy with the start Shaw Staker McCaffer.
No worry about emergency loop hole this week not enough on the track Just the Captain, which actually makes for a relaxing weekend.
T/U: Jelwood vs Gold Coast for Captain.
T/D: JPK vs Essendon for Captain.
Stevie J, Selwood, Cotchin, Naiatnui or JPK for captain?
Should I make marc Murphy as Captain? (pendles VC)
TU – Murphy
TD – Ablett
Jacob Townsend, the guy that kept Watson to 60odd this year was the reason I strayed away from Murphy as Captain. Townsend is the sub.
UP: Take Murphy as Captain over Stevie J.
DN: Keep Stevie J as Captain, play it safe against league opponent also with Murphy.
Murphy, you 5 star dud! 4th time I’ve given him the VC. Failed to give me anything every single time.
banking swan’s 131 as my C, there’s always the chance ablett could go large but i reckon he’s more chance of a 90 than a 150 tonight…..
Moloney, Staker, Kerridge, Watson, Kommer. I’m screwed.
Bad week for me with Moloney and Watson spudding it up. But how good is young Tommy Mitchell?! Looks like an absolute star already. Will definitely be keeping an eye out for him as a good DG target.
I swear GAJs scores are setup on an automated increase. Makes sense most weeks but how does 10 touches at 44% equate to 50+ points?
1160/14/Bud
To my opponents out there, I’ve forgotten the safety word. Please be gentle.
1852/17/Joelwood
Still to play: Buddy. Birchall. Vlastuin. Cox. JJK
id be happy with 2400+
2194/14/Griffen (Sportal 😉 )
1520/15/Swan
Have Buddy, Birchall (please, don’t dud it this time) Cotch, NicNat, Vlast, JJK and Big Cox to come.

How about my bench! Macaffer 100, Laird 122 and Blicavs 107… Fortunately I can swing Macaffer and Laird on with the loophole.
Franklin, Goldstein, Cotchin, Nic Nat, Priddis, Birchall, Dusty and Cox to come. Optimistically hoping for 2350+
1638/15/gaj
Ended up going gazza (phew) on track to my first half decent score for a couple of weeks with vlas my only rookie and 6 prems left

No late changes please. Need terlich and birch to play as i have no cover. Looking good so far.
1407/13/GAJ
Just going at the moment….Nothing great but nothing terrible…..A few to come…Contemplating E loophole with Blicavs ….What about Jobe? His doesnt muck around …In all his games he’s either scored under 80 or over 120….Nothing in between…
I hate it when you have a really good team but it never performs well, need consistancy from Selwood and many more!!
13/1245/Selwood
Had the opotunity to take Pendels 119 but I though Selwood was in for a big one against Gold Coast and at Simonds Stadium..
I think why my average has doped from 2380 to 2198 in the last 5 weeks is because of my under-performing premium MIDS.
1547/15/Buddy
Risking it with Buddy. But he’ll go big (>200) one day. Today could be it.after his 2nd half last week.
Still have Cox, Priddis, JJK, Martin, Harvey, Terlich too. so could go from 2100 to 2450.
1804 with 5 to go with stevie j as bloody captain. Hopefully 2300
Captaincy poll please
TU NicNat
TD Buddy
1798/16/Ablett
Cotchin, Martin, Cox, Kennedy, Priddis, M. Jones to come.
Honorable mention to the big Blicavs! Belts out a tonne on his tour championship debut! Also, if you don’t have Will Tonneson, please delete your team. The name says it all. Just banks tonnes!
Emergency loophole…
Thumbs up- Take Blicavs score
Thumbs down- Cox will get 120+
1283/13/buddy (c) gaj (vc)
Taking the bet on buddy. Dont really need to as am winning all my leagues at present. But I think he should go large against the Dee-sasters.
So should i take the emergency loophole? Should have with jager last night.
Take blicavs t/u
Or play vlastuin t/d
1122/11/Buddy – sj was VC 🙁
Only Swallow today apart from Buddy
I have 7 players in the WCE v Tigers game
Priddis, Nic Nat, Cox
Cotch, Deledio, Maric and Vlastuin
Projected is 2250 odd needed Buddy to Ton up after bringing him in this week…He is a DUD
1774/18/Buddy
1539/15/GAZ
NicNat, kennedy, priddis, cox, vlas, cotchin and dusty to come.
Hopefully 2200-2300 or there about
1814/18/GAJ
Below par. Now aiming for 2200 with hopefully a small tumble in the rankings. You know you’re in for a tough weekend when your opponent’s Ben Kennedy (78) outscores your Hanley (49).
1908/18/buddy
Despite my death or glory buddy option costing me 100 points over the safer vc of gaj I should be around the 2300 mark.
But, 2400 would have won me no cash prizes. Buddy going huge could have.
Remaining players cox, jjk, nicnat, vlastuin.
2300 should be a lockin
1772/17/Swan
Projecting 503 more, but hopefully I’ll be able to crack 2300!
1520/17/Nic Nat
Tough week, could do with a big one from Nic Nat and Priddis
1678/16/GAJ
With Dusty -Nic Nat- Cox -JKK- Priddis _Vluistin to come I’m hoping to creep over 2300…..Let see how that goes..I opted to take a risk on Cox rather than banking Blicavs 107 also….
1876/17/gazza
Very happy so far, nothing has really gone wrong and i should get a win in all my leagues 🙂
1638/16/GAJ
1797/17/GAJ
1763/18/ Stevie J
stevie you costed me 70 points for not putting gazza the c, never taking gaz off the c again, will be getting 2100-2200 projected
bye bye rank 203, deff gnna offload the spuds evans and M jones, Mitchell looks very juicy same as Martin
