R13 Progress Scores

Written by Duck on June 21 2013

I don’t know about you, but I’ll be glad to see the back of the bye rounds and resume normal full strength teams.

Let’s get those progress scores up, with your captain and how many scoring players you’ve got taken the field.

  1. 6 played / 626, solid start. Need a win this week, main opponent has only 17, fingers crossed…..

  2. 468/5

Thurlow missing out this week means I’ll be fielding the bare minimum 18 players this round. Fingers crossed someone will make up for Birchall’s 40, as unlike the last two weeks, I can’t bump the weakest scores out of calculations.

Unfortunately I don’t have either of the two popular big scorers in JJK (48.5% of teams) or Roughead (19.3% of teams), but to my surprise only found 2 people in the top 10 with JJK and none with Roughead so it shouldn’t dent my overall chances too much.

  3. 593/6/JPK

Had Priddis NicNat Cox JKK Buddy Birchall
Only 17 this week with Thurlow out.
The name Josh Kennedy is contuining to have a good week. I just need one more to finish off proceedings for me

  4. 593/6. Happy considering Birchall’s 40 is included. Luckily nic nat, cox, Jj kenn, priddis & buddy did well. Glad Brad Hill did not kick me in the guts after trading him out rather than JOM. Will be ugly weekend overall as only got 16 playing unless Thurlow is a late in.
On a side note, how funny last night reading literally hundreds of numpties on a rival site (known for their qtr by qtr scores) blaming those who recommended getting Birchall in! It’s not like any player including GAJ are succeptical to injury!

Happy to rename round 13 this week Josh Kennedy week if he fires (new recruit to my midfield, can you tell).

Started off alright but I only have 15 playing but I had planned to take a dive this week (Thurlow, Colquhoun, Daw playing would have at least given me 18). Could have traded O’Meara into someone who is playing but didn’t think it was worth it as I still would have only had 16…

  6. 2 byes per team next year so its going to get worse before it gets better.

Nic Nat as VC for a decent score and with Thurlow now missing I’m contemplating a last minute trade. I don’t need to for league wins but I want to improve my overall position.

For C I still have a few to choose from but seeing as Lids scored 140 against the Doggies earlier in the year I’m going to roll with him.

  7. 379/5 NicNav VC, jpk/duckwood potential captains.

Yes, that is after 5!!! Like Dazz, POD defender in Hurn really hurt, so does trading in Birchall this week. 2 red vests from the first game, can’t be a good omen. Need Thurlow to play to replace Hurn’s 8…

JJK, Cox, Priddis, Franklin I’m pretty pleased with. Birchall the only real dud of the night

Stuck on who to try the VC on…
    Thumbs up- Jack
    Thumbs down- Hannebery
Or comment if you think I should go JPK

Yep, also traded in Birchall. 18 on the field (assuming Bartel plays) at the moment so the 40 counts. JJK did good, so will upgrade him to NicNat next week for ~$100k. I like the consistency of 100ppw. Got a good ranking (169), so don’t want to drop. Will go Jaegermeister >> Mitchell today. So my dilemma now is, do I:

    1. Trade Terlich >> Stevie J to give my scoring a boost (which I was going to do anyway next week after SJ dropped in price a bit and Terlich increased in price a bit)
    2. Trade Viney >> Hrovat which provides extra $100k cash and 19 on the field in the hope that Hrovat goes ok and pushes Birchall’s 40 out.
    3. Do nothing.

Will have 7 trades left after Mitchell. First world problems 😉

  10. 7/738 jpk. Hoping thurlow would make up the numbers but no dice. Birchall the only let down. Could have been worse, could have brought him in this week.

  11. 6/609/Griff
Fielding 18 after Thurlow’s departure from my team. Buddy, Nic Nat, Massive, JK & Priddis netted me between 97-125, while Wilson’s 56 is well received from a bloke that’ll (hopefully) sit quietly on the bench from here on in.

  12. 439/4/ VC JPK with C Barlow as backup

Solid Start: Had Cox, Buddy, Priddis and JJK.

A 130+ score from JPK will be enough to whack the C on a player with a bye.

  13. I’m thinking Naitanui’s 114 is enough this week for the VC Loophole. Not convinced that the risk with any of the other remaining options is worth it. Conservative? Yes. Smart? I think so.

    Thoughts?

    Thumbs UP: Stick with 114
Thumbs DOWN: Risk the biscuit (i.e.: JPK, Jack, Deledio)

  14. 636/6 – JPK VC, Lids C.

Does anyone see many more games for Thurlow even if he comes in as the emergency tomorrow?

    TU – Yes
    TD – No

  15. Got a close game in my main leage

    TU Me – J.Reiwoldt, Hanley, J.Selwood, Thurlow + 90

TU Him – Monfries, JPK, N.Reiwoldt, Martin, Barlow

Who do you think will win?

Also should I do a quick JOM-Keiren Jack trade to help my cause? (Was gonna do it later but this is top of the table clash)

  16. 593/6/JPK VC loophole.
Cox, Nic Nat, Priddis, JJK, Franklin and Birchall
Cant really complain about Birchall as he was playing injured with an Ankle injury.

  17. just cocked up my trade

just done Viney to Mitchell but was supposed to trade viney and sub Kerridge into the mids and bring in Riewoldt.

now only 17 players instead of 18
    Arrrgghhh

  18. Hello people, 819/6 – VC/Buddy and C/Griffen – Only 17 on field.

As a Hawks man I should have gone VC Roughead 145 but gave Buddy 97 the VC as the star import. KJACK 122 again in 120’s and justifying trade in over JPK. Meanwhile Birchall 40 running around lame has not helped my rd score or season since trading out Atley in Rd 5. Looking forward to Griffen and also Andrew Swallow refreshed and firing.

Can’t wait for the resumption of season proper next week. Enjoy

Go Hawks and Roughead to be our next captain!

  19. Since JPK didn’t exactly kill it today, having a big dilemma over who to give the C:

    T/U – Barlow
    T/D – Martin

  20. 1082/13/Captain yet to play

Have been contemplating something potentially stupid:

Vlastuin (31) is currently my lowest scoring player (only fielding 18 currently so he will count at this stage).

Was planning Macaffer > Selwood for tomorrow (still, I will have 18).

The only way I could get 19 on the ground is by trading one of my R13 bye premiums (Dangerfield the best option).

    Dangerfield > Selwood
(taking Staker off the bench and becoming the 19th man)

Next week I’d trade Macaffer > Watson ($40k saving on Dangerfield) and Vlastuin > Hanley. This would finalise the team with 3 trades left.

    Points gained:
    Staker’s Score minus 31 pts
Watson’s minus Dangerfield’s total points for the rest of the season.
    $40k

    Points lost:
3 trades left after R14 rather than 4.

Considering you’re sitting in 9th place, 201 points off the race for the $50k what would you do?

7 to come, Birch, Vlas, Hrovat will be the ones that don’t make the cut I would imagine, means that Goodes 61 needs to be smashed by the remaining list and SJ needs to go LARGE…

  22. 1418/14 Griffen

Got bartel, stevie j, B.Harvey and Mayes to come. Thinking that anything around 1850 this week will allow me to stay at my ranking of 305

  23. 1123/13/SJ

20 playing this week so hopefully Birch and Vlas’s scores drop out. Not convinced by SJ as captain, not taking JPK’s loophole. Have Duff, Rocky, Staker, Blicavs, Selwood, SJ and Bartel left to play.

  24. 1161/12/cotchin should have stuck with JPK captain sigh. Buying Boyd last week paid off, birchall vlas and goodes off the mark

17 playing and a disaster round …My whole backline has been a disaster…
It started on Thursday night on the selection table with Thurlow, continued on Friday night with Birchalls knee, yesterday everyone got amongst the points in the last quarter in Ports great win except HH, then Waters decides once again to put Webster sub…you’re playing Dees ffs give the kid a game ( although even with half a game he only got in the 20’s) , then Goodes and Vlastuin decided to spud up big time last night…..
    So my backline scores read like this 79, 61, 40, 31, 25, 0

Already happy to move on quick smart to next week I have a question for the SCT community……Thinking of trading Macaffer – Daniher today so it allows me to do a double upgrade next week of Dwyer – Stevie J and Vlastuin – Hanley ………Is there any other forward rookies floating around as better options?? Was that Hunter last night from the dogs a forward by any chance??? Looked good…

thumbs up – trade today to double upgrade next week

thumbs down – hold off to see what happens next week

  26. 1228/12/Deledio.

I will trade O’Meara to Joelwood later in the day assuming he doesn’t fall victim to injury/withdrawal. That will give me 19 men playing, which, hopefully, will push Webster’s 25 out, which effectively leaves me at 1203/11/Deledio.

Four out of five of my opponents have Jackson Thurlow, so I’m looking a chance in all my league matches.

Hopefully I can push 1800 by rounds end.

  27. 1248/13/Griffen

Everyone else has been solid, but Birchill (40), Vlastuin (31) and Hrovat (30) are bringing me down. Only have 18 playing too so none of them are dropping out.

Rockliff, Staker, Goldstein, Hawkins and new recruit Stevie J to come.

  28. 841/11/Joelwood or StevieJ

Fair to say I’m STrugling this week. Not sure what happened to Vlastuin, but 31 is not good. I did the Terlich >> StevieJ trade so let’s hope he scores more than 88! 😉

Bit stumped on my captain now after JPK only scored 107. Thinking of taking the chance on StevieJ going large…

  29. 1078/12/15 Cotchin, Wow I knew round 13 would be bad but this is horrible. As soon a Birchall got hurt I knew I was in for a tough week. Hannebery’s 60 and I really hope Mundy does not fire as I was tossing up between him and Cotchin.

    Bring on next week.

  30. Behind by a bit and need a big captaincy score!

TU – Joelwood vs Brissy at the gabba (predict 95)
TD – Barlow vs North at subi (predict 124)
