Everyone was a bit below par this week. But 5/5 wins so gotta be happy with that. What was the pass mark this week? 2200?

  3. Had a ranking just out of 1,000 a few rounds before the byes and now it is at 12,000. Thank you to most of my premos who never perform in the same rounds but they always manage to go terrible in the same round. Only rookies on field are Staker and Mitchell (Webster aswell because Goodes is out) and then the rest are premos. Only 9 score OVER 100 and 12 under 100. Haven’t scored over 2000 since round 8 and it is shitting me.

Ablett, Swan, Pendles, JPK, Selwood, Cotchin, Priddis, Goddard, Birchall, Shaw, Heppell, Cox, Kruezer, Naitanui, Franklin, Bartel, Rockliff, JJK, Stevie J are all my premos. Surely that team can crack 2000 weekly.

    NOT VERY HAPPY

  6. 2221/Gaz.

Rocky and Martin were let downs but Crouch, Jaeger and Danger were all rippers! Hurts having Stevie J and Barlow on the pine.

Lucky to miss out on Selwood, Shaw and Swan’s lowly scores.

    Terlich might be a keeper?

Might be jumping on Ibbotson and Hanley (soft draw coming up) next week!

  11. 1941/Swan 0/5 League Wins

First of all, my sincerest apologies go to my fellow coaches in LoeC 1. We might plummet from our top ten position after my dismal showing.

So the week began with Birchall ruled out and Goodes looking shaky. With no defenders putting their hands up; I decided to rely on Jimmy Webster and Brent Staker.

Then Shuey was ruled out of his clash v Essendon. I knew that though Crouch and or K Martin could fill in; I wasn’t confident that they would pull off a worthwhile score to cover his absence.

Meanwhile over in the rucks, Ivan Maric was also a missing man. Not to worry; Tom Nicholls could cover him.

The first trade was to remove Mitch Robinson; playing at F7, he was about to leak cash. I figured Zorko and Rockliff were also on the rocks, but Brisbane’s fixture eased up after Hawthorn. Robinson was traded out for a rock-bottom priced forward: Jed Lamb. That netted me some cash; enough to complete my match winning zinger: Brad Crouch to Dane Swan.

As the Gold Coast v Adelaide match drew to a close, I decided in my undoubted wisdom that Gary Ablett’s 115 as VC was not going to cut it; but that’s what Swannie was there for. The C was slapped on his Reality Warping Debut. I looked forward to him running rampant on the grounds of AAMI Stadium racking possessions up left, right and centre.

If one thought my troubles were over after that; they were only just beginning. Gary Ablett’s original back up was Joel Selwood. It’s amazing how it turned out that putting the captaincy on Swannie was the better option. It certainly didn’t seem that way. With Selwood well held by Creepy Crowley; Duffield was subbed out in the second quarter.

Sunday brought the out of form Supercoach Lions in Dayne Zorko and Tom Rockliff. And they broke new ground in dismalism. Rounding out a horror weekend was Brett Deledio and Dustin Martin, though comparatively speaking they did well enough.

    Ah well, to summarise…

    Studs:
    Jobe Watson
    Bryce Gibbs
    Gary Ablett
    Tom Mitchell

    Duds:
    Dane Swan
    Joel Selwood
    Josh P Kennedy
    Nic Naitanui
    Dustin Martin
    Tom Rockliff
    Dayne Zorko
    Brett Deledio

  12. 2354 Griffen

Happy with that, Walker, Dusty, Jelwood all down. Griff, Minson, Watson, Gibbs all good. One more mid premo to come, not sure I can manage it this week, and the team is complete.

  13. 2120/Pendles

Thought I was gonna be able to miraculously salvage a week filled with injuries and omissions for my squad, but Vlas’ expected late out was never going to let that happen. Watson great on debut, Joelwood not so much. Oh well.

Fairly happy considering Stevie J out and Swan/Shaw well down.
Patience wearing really thin with Rockliff too…

  15. Baffling is the only way to describe the way Rockliff and Shaw were used this week… Match winning players played as far away from the play as possible!

With a federal election looming I can only ask… Please explain?

  17. 2234 / Gaj with Zorko, Duffield and Swan spudding it up.. Still waiting for my POD Tomahawk to post just one respectable score since I brought him in!!

  18. 2165/GAJ

Obviously not happy, but it might end up being half decent compared to others. Swan, Walker, BJ, JPK, Rocklift and Joelwood really let the team down badly. Hopefully Mundy is back next week (although Mitchell is dong a good covering job), and StevieJ still another week away. Will carry Birchall for now until an opportunity presents itself. And glad I held off on doing the JJK >> NicNat trade.

I finished in the top 6 scores for each of my 4 leagues, but only won 1. 😉

  19. 2203/watson
looking like a solid score. 3/3 league wins, and in top 3 scores in each league. after 3 disgusting bye weeks including the last two being ranked over 100,000th ill be ok with this.
still had JJKennedy, goddard, naitanui, swan, shaw, JPKennedy, fyfe, rockliff and somewhat staker and clisby scoring very poorly even though i expect less from them since they were covering zeros.

    Pretty damn crap

Selwood, Swan, NicNat, JPK, Martin were all crap.

Jobe, Gibbsy, Gaz and Pendles were all good.

    Tom Mitchell is a gun.

    Underperformers for this round:

  24. Snuck over 2000 … very poor week. My team is just not strong enough to cover 6 front liners in one week. Plus decisions made in March still haunt me … Zorko, Rocky, Maric, Cotch just to name a few. Tough times.

  26. 1956/20/Swan (GAJ VC)
Miserable round, but won both leagues I’m in (one of which is weak as and doesn’t really count)

Was projected to win my main league at start by over 500 points (playing second last) and only ended up winning by 60 odd …

Chose to take two donuts in the backline as “knew” I had my opponents covered … and took Martin as trade in FWD line for McAffer … (kicking myself for not taking Roughy … but oh well) as well as traded in Heater for Vlas … thanks for repaying the faith Heather … NOT!!!

PASS: Heppell, Pridis, Ablett, Pendles, Bartel, Cotchin, Cox, Buddy, Boomer, Nicholls, GAWN!! (amybe Staker with 77?)

FAILS: NicNat, JJK, Heater, Fyfe, Joelwood, Dusty, Goddard, Monfries

GARDUATE with HONOURS: Gibbs, Jobe, T Mitchell

    Onto next week …

  27. Ryan Griffen does it again, 143 last week on debut and 148 this week. Absolute gun and with GWS again this week his avg could break 130!! Come on Griffo!

  28. 2016/Ablett (fml). Reilly killed me, gibbs the obvious replacement. Not sure what to do with Kerridge ($300k) and Colquhon (250k) both not playing, sitting on the bench and wasting space. Downgrade ideas anyone?

  30. 2145 / GAJ. Luckily enough to win 4 from 5 league games & stay in top 10,000

Some low scores with Rockliff, Nic Nat, Swan, H.Shaw (on debut)

Did Brett Goodes say anything on his injury & his chances of coming back this week? Only caught last 2 minutes of his interview this morning.

Blicavs has done his job & likely to make way for Goldstein or Roughie (gives scope for moving to forwards with Cox & Nic Nat if Sandilands comes down to high 400’s). Goldy & Minson not a bad ruck combo with Nicholls & Rowe on pine though.

  32. LoEC1 – only down marginally to 12th overall league ranking. Pretty good still as most of us were down a bit.

SCT Cash League is slightly down (64th overall) & is still a very tough league to get a win in. Yiorgas (The Phat Side) ladder leader with MJ sitting 3rd on a 103% percentage. Jimbo Traralgon very stiff to be 2nd bottom with an average of 2123!!

  33. 1998 / Capt Griffen, only 1/5 league wins

My score is really flattering considering Griffen pretty much scored 300 off his own boot. All of my premiuims went on strike this week, but judging by the comments I wasn’t alone. Vlastuin left me a man short but that was the same for most teams so no excuse there. If I have one regret, it’s not using the emergency loophole on NicNat last Thursday night. That would’ve scraped another two important league wins over the line. They can’t play that bad two weeks in a row. I’m expecting 2200+ next week!!

  34. 2160/gaz
not great, but not a disaster. i fell 4 places this week to be 123 overall now.
selwood, fyfe, rockliff, martin and cloke all need to lift their game a little next week. but with a team full of prem players averaging near on or over 100 and placed near the top 100 i guess i cant complain.

  35. Reporting from France this week (got off the plane to find Melbourne had won a game!?).

Scored 2131, dropping from 9th to 13th overall, conceding 35 points to the leader.

Lost to Motts in LoEC1, which I’m sure he’ll never let me hear the end of.

    Flops:
    Rockliff (57), NicNat (73), Walker (75), Martin (73), Selwood (54), JPK (88), Swan (73), Shaw (70), Goddard (88), Ellis (77).

    Heros:
    Dangerfield (141), Gibbs (120).
Only 2 boys put their hands up this week and will enjoy lighter weeks on the training track, unlike the rest of the lads, who’ll get a flogging!

Looking forward to Stevie J returning from suspension, as it will push Rockliff out to F7. Can’t stand putting up with his forward roles week in week out.

  36. 2022/Swan

Ended up with 3/4 league wins.
Happy that I managed a score over 2k carrying a donut coz of Vlas. Would’ve had cover for him with the E on Staker, but I was one short in the forwards.
Only need the one upgrade left in the Mids, and one in the forwards after this week. The backs will be fully upgraded and have 3 prems in the rucks.

Only 5 trades left after this week though, so gonna need to be careful in case of any LTIs. Been burned a lot this season coz of them!!!

  37. What a bad week to be without the internet, traded heater and Gibbs in this week for Hurn and Birchall then held off on the Gibbs Birchall trade thinking Carlton were playin Sunday.Boy what a bad move that was, thought id keep Vlustin instead and copped, a doughnut.which hurts considering Gibbs would of been my second highest score shitearama !
