Buddy looks to be gone for 3 to 4 weeks according to Doc Larkins on 3AW. Hawks won’t even consider risking him against their upcoming opponents in GWS or the Doggies.

No way in hell Buddy will play nxt wk, or the wk after. Easy nxt 2 wks then Vs Collingwood 3rd. Could all depend on where the hawks are on the ladder if Buddy plays Vs C’wood..

Its different for Ratts though Deano…He hasnt proven anything yet…His best year was last year….

Development of players – fail
Structured game plan – fail
Players buy in – fail

Another great coach in the backround gone in Hyde during the week… Montgomery highly regarded left before him Icke very highly regarded left cause of him also…..
Take a look at Crows for an example..Lost close to 1000 games of experience two years ago and there abouts two years later….
Ive never been on the “get rid of Ratten train” but I think Ive just jumped on….Rant over

Everyone I speak to in perth seems to think Ross Lyon is planning on trading heavily at the end of the year, with rumors of dal santo wanting to leave the saints to play with Ross. After reading this: http://m.afl.com.au/news.htm?action=handleNewsArticleById&id=139969&listRetrievedBy=COMPETITION&listId=1

Sandilands for Dal Santo?
Highly unlikely but I would do it, especially if they manage to get cloke and keep griffen. might even make the eight next year…actually couldn’t even say that last bit without laughing

The last thing they need is another slow midfielder to go with Mundy, Barlow and DeBoer. They’re better off targeting a Beams or even Goddard to compliment Hill and Morabito to be able to break the lines.

As a Saints fan i would not want to swap durable & silky skilled NDS for Sandi as turf toe 2 years in a row is not good for the future.
Ross Lyon will trade heavily though – Freo can have Raph Clarke

Top four Hawks (Bud, Mitchell, Birch & Roughy) and a solid 98 from Carrots on debut means we’re a happy team at Year of the Fish.

Of course a cracking Friday night start never bodes well for the rest of the weekend and Buddy out for the next two means my horrible bench cover of Crozier and Pattison will probably bite me in the arse already.

After deciding to not follow through with the Giles to Roughie trade, seeing Roughie kick the first goal & then play well was not good to watch.

However Buddy going down reminded me that u have to expect the unexpected & trades are gold. Cash cow(s) may need to be up-graded earlier than planned.

Subbed out for being a dill for expecting 1 mil a year from the pies when he is not the most reliable kick for goal. Trav, more sparkling performances with 100+ SC points & less of the talking yourself up on the footy show is the way to get your 5 year contract or lucrative 4 year deal.

Doc Larkin on foxtel just said Buddy was cleared of any structural damage on his hammy & that he has been cleared for a bit of light training runs next week.
Doc thought they may be cautious and still give him the week off (not a bad idea v GWS). Great news compared to a torn or pulled hammy.

1806 with Joelwood, BJ, Swallow and Sir Zorko to come. Bloody GAJ as captain and while Heath Shaw didn’t score well i can’t blame him, the ball didn’t spend any time in the Fremantle fwd line thanks to FURL.

In LoEC i’m playing Don Cottagers (3rd vs 1st on the ladder) and i’ve got 200pts lead on him. My Swallow vs his Adcock, Rockliff, Gibson and NDS. Now hoping that Gibson’s the sub again and that Swallow dominates the clearances over NDS.

The projections still have me winning by 80, but I see it being a lot closer than that! Could come down to whether Gibson gets the vest or not. Having Pendles and Chappy warming the pine may hurt me in the end. Here’s hoping Rocky and Adcock run through a rampant Brisbane midfield in a demolition of a key-forward-less Melbourne!

Pretty stiff DC. Thought your two Lions could have done a bit more too. Rocky’s score ended up being respectable enough but dominating the Dees like they did it really should have been one of his days out.

Got to be honest though. Considering I was looking up at you and RB on the ladder I was pretty happy with the result ;)

To come: Zorko and Goddard.
Very pleasing to see my premiums hitting the straps this week, with 11 of them cracking the ton.
A good sign was that my only real let downs were my rookies (Ellis 44, Horsley 45 and Giles 73)
On track for 2250-2300 (a lot depends on Zorko)

Props to PA for a comment he made regarding choosing Selwood as captain over GAJ. Not very often going against Ablett pays off, but it may well do this time.

Selwood has not played yet & Port will go the tag + he may have one of his once a season ‘off games’, however it certainly looks a good call at this time.

Shiel (bad foot / toe injury??) & Power (broken ribs??) at GWS reported looking like having an extended period on the sidelines due to injuries. Scans this week. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/140032/default.aspx

It may increase the chance of Adams coming back next week (hopefully his club ban counts towards his rested weeks), A.Kennedy getting the opportunity to score double figures next week & Treloar not being rested.

COLLINGWOOD midfielder Scott Pendlebury is set to make his return from a broken leg against an under-siege Carlton at the MCG on Friday night.

The Pies vice-captain said he was “touch and go” to play against Fremantle on Saturday but took an extra week off as a precaution.

Pendlebury passed fitness tests last week and will need only to pull up well from training to get the clearance to take on the Blues.

He remains an $8 equal second favourite to win the Brownlow Medal behind Gold Coast captain Gary Ablett.

“I was sort of eyeing West Coast (in Round 13) and then scans confirmed I had a small crack in the bone,” Pendlebury said on Triple M.

“It’s just about now trying to wait for that bone to get strong, or as close to strong as possible.

“I was touch and go for today and just decided another six days is probably the best thing to do.”

Pendlebury has missed three games since he cracked his tibia in a ground-level contest with Gold Coast’s Josh Caddy.
(from today’s herald sun) – Hopefully it is not another false dawn

I’m down by 463 with Adcock, Grimes, NDS and N Roo to play. Could I possibly win? Got the feeling I’ll come up short.

Thumbs up for the win
Thumbs own for the loss

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 5 Thumb down 7

Could win for sure, but think your gut feeling is probably correct. 116 average for the remaining 4 is a big call. Fingers crossed NDS goes big. N.Roo pulling out or spudding it playing injured is your biggest worry. Have you got a decent E cover on N.Roo?

Five signs if you’ve got Man flu

- Seeks company only to reject it.

- Emanates loud sniffing noises, which escalate into coughs when approached.

- Suffers variable hearing loss that requires volume of television to be steadily increased.

- Becomes expert on the medicinal qualities of whisky.

I am shattered. D.Shiel expected to be out for an extended period of time. Out goes my much needed first bench reserve and he was going so well. It rubs salt into the wound knowing that I have been tossing up between D.Smith, JMac and Shiel for that spot … I decided Shiel was the best option. Rd13 upgraded D.Smith & rd14 upgraded JMac now I am left with an injured Shiel. What I would give to go back to Friday night and upgrade Shiel instead of JMac. #cruelgame

What position is Smedts playing that he’s getting shots on goal? HF?

At this rate I COULD’VE held off a week and played McDonald+Smedts instead of Pfeiffer+Carrazzo. He’s on target for a ton.

Adelaide win by 19 points but tigers dominate supercoach scoring 1737 to 1562.
Does this happen often? I would have thought the scoring system with its weighting for impact etc. would generally have the winning side scoring more..
