R8 Progress Scores

Written by Duck on May 17 2013

I’m playing Mottsy this week …. and I’m less than confident, we just can’t seem to get over the line. Having said that, i can still hope.

Let’s get those progress scores up in the usual format.

  1. Terrible. 195-odd/3. Majak Daw you’ve killed me. Luckily next week i can bring in Nic Nat or Roughy to hold my second ruck position instead of playing rookies Blicavs or Daw. Will make life easier.

Cox as VC failed. Waiting until tomorrow to trade Stevenson-Lonergan via Goodes and Neade to Franklin. GAJ currently C but I’m a teensy bit concerned with Lower paying attention to him. Wondering whether it would be worthwhile to plant the ‘C’ on Deledio or Martin v Melbourne.

Saying that, GAJ should still be good for 120…

  3. 391 from 5

Not a great start. Ruck department was very poor tonight. Average of 65 from three of them thanks to Majak along with Cox and Goldy just travelling. NicNat not exactly having the quiet game I wanted to get his price right down for a buy in two weeks time was salt in the wounds.

Shuey could’ve had a huge one had he slotted the goal from 50, but I’m happy with the 101 from only 18 disposals!
Priddis will produce those 100-110 scores every week. Absolute bargain.
Cox drops his first game under 96 all season, possibly due to Nic Nat’s influence (who will not drop as much as we all had hoped with that unbelievable 142).
Goldstein will be forgiven for his 82 after last week’s monstrous 163. I thought he actually played a very good game, and was given plenty of praise from the commentary team.

  5. 280/3/ Buddy(VC) GAJ(C)

Priddis was good on debut, solid score from Kennedy, Cox bit of a let down but oh well, an alright start considering I rarely score well on a Friday night.

  6. Not a great start for me. Went Majak over Macaffer as didn’t believe he would get subbed playing against Massive and the Big Show. Wrong choice. Ahh hindsight.

    Just a quick one…

If I have two emergencies named on the one line and only one player from that line (e.g. VC Loop) doesn’t play, which emergency score will my team get.

    Cheers

  7. Great debut from Priddis.

One disposal in the last quarter was disappointing. Was expecting 130 ish but wasnt to be

  8. We all love stats don’t we? How about these ones:

  9. 119, 126. B/E 69 as of last week. Boomer Harvey trade in target at $511k next week?

Only issue for me is my forward line is already chock-a-block, with Bartel, Martin, Robinson, Rockliff lining up, with Zorko in the middle, Daisy Thomas benched, Cox pinch-hitting to let Gawn pair with Leuenberger and Franklin due in.

On the other hand, I don’t mind slotting him into the middle until the bye rounds, as flexibility will be golden around that time.

Then I can always trade my Fwds out for fallen Elite midfielders after I’ve upgraded my Rookies.

Priddis 105 on debut, Kennedy 91 & Massive 84. Reasonable start.
Made a double trade bringing in Priddis & Kerridge for Wines & Heath.

    priddis, kennedy, cox, lecras.
lecras not good enough. might end up being the casualty to get nic nat in. most likely him or jacobs. didnt look great tonight. has had a terrible year kicking for goal

Is nic nat worth brining into to your side ? Or did he have a one off blinder of a game ? Thinking he might take over the workload from cox and start out scoring him. Priddis had a solid hit out, very happy I brought him into my side. Just need Geelong to win tonight and I’ll be a happy chappy.

  13. Dear Mr Majak Daw
    You simply are the best
    Well, that is often true
When you aren’t wearing the vest

    You go and score 139
When I don’t put you on the park
But with Maric out, you got the nod
    And 29?? What the faaaaarrrrrkkkkk!!!!!!

  14. Shattered at our 3rd close loss of the season against quality opposition. What could’ve been! North definitely has the talent and the game plan to be much better placed than 3-5. Hopefully we can win our next three (Crows, Saints and GC) and go to the bye on the positive side of the ledger.

Was hoping Kennedy was going to rip that mark down in the dying seconds…

Swallow and Priddis must have shut each other out of the game shortly after 3 quarter time… their scores didn’t move for the best part of 20 minutes after the Swallow goal!

Do like the sounds of getting 100 points a game from Boomer for a tick over 500K… see how Buddy goes this weekend I guess.

  16. 175/2 Buddy – Gaj

    Thinking of the following:

Kommer as my mid emergency and if he scores 80+ put Viney on the field to then get his score instead of Koby who will drop to the bench. Worried about any late outs, especially Cotchin even though they say he is fine. If there are any niggles then Melbourne is the team to err on the side of caution.

    TU mid loophole it up
    TD play it safe

  17. Loophole lunacy could be the theme for this week.

After screwing the pooch and not using the emergency loophole for Daw and Gawn with Maric out, I’m going to try it out with Crouch on field, Kommer emergency and Kerridge to swing in if needed.

I have also gone with Buddy as VC and Swanny as captain.

The dilemma I can see coming is if Bud gets a good score without going beserk, say 130, and Kommer has an ok day and scores 70.

    What would Yabbie do?

    TU – Bud 130 & Kommer 70

TD – Take the punt on Swan & Kerridge to get a big double ton.

Some indifferent scores by Cox etc, but Priddis handy on debut.

Playing Deano in the SCT related cash league. Currently up 751 to 574 & he has another doughnut with Gibbs out so hoping to box clever & sneak a win.

Was planning on trading out Wines or Neade but Deano has both playing & if i traded down to Ben Kennedy (listed as sub) it could give him advantage of 70+ points so may just sit on my hands. Said to myself this morning, do Kennedy downgrade IF he is not listed as sub (2nd time in first 3 games), but finding out he is sub is not great for his JS & scoring.

  19. Noting comments above about tactical benefit in not trading, thoughts on trading Neade down to Ben Kennedy (going to be sub again) to raise 170K for future trades.

Thumbs UP: Trade him, it’s all about the cash

Thumbs DOWN: As you are going for the league win, play smart & keep the trade (currently got 21 trades & 118K cash).

  20. 1430/14/GAJ.

Lonergan, a midfield prospect at the start of the year, did not disappoint in his debut in my Supercoach Side. Grant Birchall, however, plumbed new depths and it may just cost me a couple of matches. Come on, he was so consistent over the past couple of years…absolutely brilliant rounds 1-4…And now…Yeah. Gibbs has outscored him in my mind.

Franklin did what he needed to; better having him than Neade (Fingers crossed this statement won’t come back to bite me).

Unfortunate for the man himself, but Steve Johnson’s absence has given me a fighting chance in a couple of leagues.

Hoping I can scrape a couple of wins in leagues I’m struggling in.

  21. Duffield to Birchall four weeks ago has been without doubt the single worst trade ive ever made in supercoach. It cost 100k at the time to ‘upgrade’ duff and since then birch has averaged 60 over the four weeks and duff around 100 if you include a 60 point score for a rookie for the game he missed and he gets 100 tonight. Shattering stuff

  22. Never do. I don’t know what happened that week, just got massively sucked in by the Birchall hype but man am I suffering the consequences.

Never expected Birch to keep up a 128 average but didn’t think he’d go anything less than 100.

Think Ive well and truly learnt my lesson

  23. To win a league match I need;

    Murphy, Cotchin, Montagna, Newman & Kerridge to outscore;
Kruezer, Lucas, Wines, Gawn and Terlich by 108 points.

    T/UP: I’ll probably win.
    T/DN: You’re dreaming.

Having a solid round with not too many massive scores, Sam Dwyer the only one above 120. However, Goodes (77) has been my lowest scorer to this point.

Lonergan (105) was super impressive on debut. Along with Dwyer (123) and O’Meara (109), the first year rookies are showing the big boys how it’s done!

Hartlett, Martin, Dangerfield, Vlastuin, Ellis & Terlich to complete R8.

Looking forward to acquiring the services of Selwood and Birchall, who will both be cheap as chips in the coming weeks!

Reasonable score I think for this round so far. Might taper off with some rookies left to play Stevenson, MJones, Vlastuin, Terlich and Monfries. 2200 should a decent score I think.

  26. 1290/15/still to decide

Got Ellis, Vlastuin, Terlich, Cotchin, Walker, Dusty and L Brown to come. Captain will be either Cotch or Dusty. Miracle if I make 2000.

One day I’ll get my best 18 on the park.

Mixed bag this week, lots of underperformers with some decent scores thrown in. Martin, Kerridge, Vlastuin to bring it home tomorrow, should score somewhere around 2200-2300

Birchall mate what are you doing?! – on a positive really happy with my slection of JPK from the start.

Got Murphy, evans, cotch, dusty, vlastuin abd harlett to come. For some reason i reckon Harlett will kill it to prove himself again.

Forecast to go another 500 odd points.

Main league is forecast to go within 2 points. Need hartlett to turn up. Its basicall hartlett wingard and stevenson vs dusty and another richmond junker.

Just going at the moment…..Not sure why Sheedy subbed Whitfield at half-time he was playing well…Really clean player …he’s going to be a gun…Anyway his 49 and Jobe’s 144 has just made my next weeks trade a little move expensive….

I brought in Thurlow into my backline bench yesterday for Heath when I found out Kennedy was sub ….I might take his 85 today I think over Stephenson via sub loophohe…..Lots of scores between 80-110 this weekend from my premiums….Consistent but not huge…..
Also noticed Im locked in a tight battle with Motts in LoEC 3 ….He’s put the big C on Dusty so that might decide the game….

  31. 1660* / 16 (GAJ) – *If i can take Dwyer’s 123 sitting on bench

Planning on using Sam Rowe in the loophole to pick up Dwyer’s 123 sitting on the bench. Motts or anyone else, is Rowe still listed as emergency & a chance to be elevated to play today or did he already play for the VFL side this weekend?

Any news on Rowe would be appreciated.

  32. Last 3 weeks have savaged my team.
Looking to trade today to salvage things slightly. By trading Gus out, I can get in the following:

    TU: Deledio
    TD: Murphy
    Comment: Scott Thompson/other

    fairly happy with the start
birchall (30) and macaffer (62) the only disappointments
got terlich, laird and murphy to go thinking 2200 at best.
with gibbs, shaw and ablett to come in next week,
things are good at 2 and a 1/2 menzel
