R21 Captain Selection

Written by Duck on August 16 2013

The captain selection has never been more important than it is now, it’s do or die from here on.

GAJ was a big disappointment last week with a 67 and had my opposition not had him too, I might have lost.

I’m leaning towards a Pie big gun on Friday night with the possibility of rolling it in to GAJ on Saturday … He can’t have 2 terrible weeks in a row can he?

Who are you looking at? What VC to C combos will you be exercising?

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

  1. Pendles into whoever my opponent has as captain, I’m not risking losing my preferred league because of captain choice.

  2. Pendles for vc. If you had barlow or fyfe id go them but I don’t.

Im not convinced on Selwood at Patterson or Ablett at AAMI, so still unsure where to go.

    Probably leaning Selwood.

  3. VC – Swan
    C – a risky Rockliff

Need a pod capt as don’t stand much chance winning. Rocky with new coach may mean more midfield time and averaging well over last 5 and against gws. Recipe for 150?

  4. T/U: VC Pendles into C Gaz
T/D: VC Gaz into C Cox

Really think Coxy will go nuts against the cats, if lobbe can score 150 odd with 59 hitouts what can Cox do?

  5. Pendles VC into GAJ. However anything over 120 from Pendles I’ll take. Can’t risk another sub 100 from GAJ this week, especially with the spectre of Kornes following him around!

  6. Seeing a bit of love for Barlow here ……

I’m upgrading T Mitchell was thinking Selwood. But all the Barlow talk makes me think I should get him instead

    TU – Barlow
    TD – Selwood

  7. Lot of Barlow talk, but I would be very wary. Spent some extended time on the bench last week in third quarter and medical were attending to lower leg. He came back on in the last, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave him a rest. I have him & worried I will have to use one of my last precious trades.

  9. You are going to have to pick a midfielder playing against the Hawks.

The trend just continues, Joey last week 35 touches 129 points.

It is an astonishing stat, excluding Melbourne and GWS the number one midfielder from each team is averaging more than Ablett against the Hawks since round 1.

I cannot bring myself to do it, cannot barrack for a midfielder against my team so going Ablett into Cox if Lobbe can get 154 against the Cats what will Cox do.

  11. and that’s anther reson to I wont go abblett if it rains he plays shocking and I think last time he got of the chain against port but this time port will shut him down. sorry to all the gav lovers think he is running out of steam at the end of the year and when his team gets smacked sometimes he dose nothing and the last 3 weeks selwood has a better averge then abblett and so dose beams and pendles

  13. Not keen on pendles 110 as VC. GAJ the obvious call as C, however Selwood, Cox, rockliff or even potential new boy Griffin all reasonable options. Did anyone else see the footage of GAJ get chaired off after 250th & one of his boofheafs teammates who had him on his shoulders dropped him at the end. He jumped up as if it hurt his ankle & did not look happy. Any news if the little master is playing with a sore ankle hense poor scores?

    Thumbs UP: GAJ as C
    Thumbs DOWN: Rockliff or Cox
