Horrible year so far sitting 14th in my cash league at 4-7.
The silver lining is that 8 of the bottom 10 are at 4-7 also and I only play bottom 8 teams (as it stands now) for the rest of the year.
I tried a different strategy with trading this year upgrading each line before I moved on to the next, starting with backs, mids then forwards.
A silly mistake looking back at it now as I missed some real value in Sidebum and Dangermouse.
Copped a fair few injuries too, more then the majority, but less then a poor few souls.

Looking down your team it started off really strong and was wondering why you would be 14th. But yeah your forward line is very weak, the problem with playing GWS players on the field each week is that Sheedy has a tendacy to rest them, so that means you’ll have to rely on your bench which is again very weak.
Crozier — Goodes would sure up your forward line a little but you need the cash as Crozier won’t get close to 300K.

Yeah the plan in to get Goodes but I’m hoping to do it through trading Hall up, BE Of 10 and only needs 2 games to breach the 300 mark. Doesn’t look too promising though, what do you think about swinging roughy Fwd and getting someone like Mcevoy when he bottoms out?

3 more upgrades to get full premium side (+ Lake) which will be very tough to get so ul have to probably keep at least one rookie on the field for the rest of the year possibly Adams/Treolar could form a good duo having one on field and one bench cover for rest of year. But that means you need to upgrade Crozier to a Goodes which you’ll need alot of money for so maybe im wishful thinking and ul have to go Adams — Goodes.
Next week Morris — Carrazo will finish your backline off nicely.
Pretty good team though, really like your rucks. No M/F DPP might cause problems down the line if teams rest players.

I’d suggest keeping treloar as F7 now Harry. He scores pretty well anyone woth only that one exception.
For trading Morris definitely looks ready for an upgrade, then possibly Hall if you want a better bench option in Adams to stay in your team. With that said though Adams is out this week so it may be worth moving him on now if your going to.

I like PA’s thinking on this but i’ll suggest another option for thought. Kruezer or Giles downgrade, then an upgrade of Porps or Adams. Follow this up with a Clarke or Bugg upgrade. That leaves you with three trades but i do think you may have to leave one of Bugg or Clarke as D7.

Good team, good trades was going to suggest the exact same trades before I saw you wrote it. You will need money to make those other two upgrades, I think Giles is an adequate and reliable R2 and Porps could still sit on your field for a little while longer. If you aren’t deeply entrentched into the top 2 then make those upgrades. Otherwise if you are probably hold onto those two until just before finals as you will get injuries or resting at critical periods and having those 5 trades will help you get a few wins.

Hall, Sexton and Smedts on in your forward line is not very good. Hopefully you can get rid one of those sooner rather than later otherwise a few donuts coming your way. Christensen might be someone to pick up in the next few weeks as you probably don’t have the cash to get Goodes.

Look at replacing Martin and Howard with Goddard and a rookie.
Don’t both with Melksham, Treloar. Vince or D Smith. Much better off with Priddis/NDS/Rockliff/Cotchin etc and a couple of cheap rookies.
Swap Jordan Roughead and Pike for someone like Jacobs/McEvoy someone cheap like Campbell or Daw.
Fwds seem to be the best, need to change Blair and Mayne, but the others could go alright. Though I am not sure about Watts now that Clark has gone down.

I disagree. Clarke had a bad day last week but there is no real reason why the output he has produced for the before that shouldn’t be matched in the second half of the year. Giles on the other hand could tire as the year goes on as well as lose points to Brogan.

I’d hold for a bit if I were you with 5 trades. Team is pretty strong, probably only concern is the rucks, but if Giles picks up his form again hopefully you should be ok.

Positives = a few good PODS in Lewis, Chapman and +cock.
Criticisms = bench is very weak, no M/F DPP, rucks very weak and bleeding at least 30-40ppg having the unreliable probably injured Kreuza.
Save your trades for at least a few weeks, try to save them till the finals if you can. Get some extra money on the way so when there is resting during SC finals you can sideways trade those premiums for other premiums.

I went hard on sorting forwards and backs first – obviously injuries, like for everyone have changed plans. But it’s got me 2237 overall which I’m pretty happy with. I have quite a few uniques which have been good so far, but will either mean I sink or swim in the run to finals.
6 trades and $120K left. My plan is hold for 2 to 3 weeks then my final upgrade/downgrade – Jmac/Horsley to Pendles. With any luck values going up and down, it works out.
Still not sure on Giles – hadn’t planned to upgrade him, but will give him a few more weeks to prove himself a keeper.

Giles came back from injury, last time he had an off game came back with a 100+. Brogan was #1 ruck last week which is a lil concern but Brogan won’t play every game for the rest of the year and hopefully he is just there to relieve Giles for this middle period. Plus everyone is in same boat, most have Giles as R2. If your going for league win check your opponents to see if you need that point of difference otherwise ride him out.

If I were you I would want to have another look at Mumford before selling Giles. The last thing you want is for Mummy to go down this week and leave you having to make another trade in your rucks.
With the 2 trades you have mentioned, your team will be pretty much complete. Would you consider Clarke – Carrazzo instead of Ellis? Unless you are expecting to keep Clarke, I think it is a better option.

Why are you going Pattison with no Roughead or Hale?
Surely Campbell makes more sense if you are not going to be using the DPP. I was totally against Campbell thinking he would be straight out for Minson but having talked to a Doggies mate I think he might be a decent option now. Roughead (Jordan) has been ordinary and they won’t want to push him too hard anyway. He might make way for Campbell who was pretty good last week.

Firstly I reckon you should downgrade Adams to a rookie since he isn’t going to play this week and with the cash you can upgrade Dickson to a premium forward.
On the next couple of week you should upgrade Ellis and Golby in my opinion

Ellis BE = 25 still has money to make. Don’t like Suckling I actually think he might get dropped if Hawks don’t pick it up. Get Carrazo next week for around the same money, and he is very likely to average 100+ IMO. Could go Horse – Gibson to get some money for other upgrades but otherwise pretty good team.

I was waiting and waiting for Fisher to come back but I think Scott Waters has changed the way Fisher is used not really being the half back rebound player like Lyon used to do. Look at Carrots scores this year, and look at Fisher this year and you won’t go past Carrots he is on fire playing primarily midfield while not being a shut down tagger.
