Currently have $187,600 left in the bank and will definitely be spending it. Players I’m not currently sold on as far as non-rookies are concerned are Ryan, Roberton, Bont, Parish and Gresham.
Rookies looking thin this year or is it just me? Plenty of $200-$300k players putting their hands up after the first round of the pre-season. Big week of pre-season games coming up to help me finalise this squad.
You’ve got Cameron in the forward line but Conroy doesn’t have dpp? Either find a dpp r3 or move Cameron there I reckon. Yep, cheap rookies are almost non existent. Valente and Robertson haven’t got gigs yet so you can almost cross them off the list and Bianco had very little time on ground (only came on in the last Q) so he is highly unlikely. Even McHenry has had injury concerns this preseason and took another knock on the weekend. Might not get up for R1.
That’s a super speculative forward line, but I rate each of those mid-pricers, especially Parish. I reckon this will be his big year.
David is correct in that Conroy is a poor pick, you’re better off with Comben/Xerri as they are better for loopholing and have DPP.
Young is only in if named and I’ve slid Rivers into the mids simply for DPP purposes, so bianco is holding the pine until a better option comes along.
It feels odd not having a fully fledged premo in defence but i feel like the 3 are becoming hard to ignore. Thoughts coaches?
TU: This may just actually work
TD: Get a premo, stat!
There is nothing wrong with any of those picks individually but it just looks wrong not to have one definite primo. But who knows, the rest of your side might make up for it.
I think there will be a lot of mid price picks especially in teams with GG. There doesn’t seem to be enough cheap rooks available.
William’s has achillies tendonitis, abort! I was on Byrnes jones early but jumped off for different options, keep an eye on him in marsh week 2. Not feeling hill personally but power to you. Marshall was my man last year but shared half the ruck load with Ryder in marsh 1, watch marsh 2, if the same, abort! Bonar had hamstring tightness on the weekend, watch closely
@Ranceinyamrspants, thanks for the tips mate! I’m liking my deep backs but if Williams is iffy I might move him down and up Hill! I’ll have some serious thinking to do.
@bAps, thanks mate I just don’t see much value in the forwards at all. I could load up on mids but there are more options than usual this year imo, and I canT see them all holding their high prices so I’ve loaded up on backs!
$40k remaining.
F3 is the real pickle for me at the moment. I’ve always been against selecting Petracca in years gone by, never saw the hype. Then he put up that huge game. If he plays full time mid, he’s a lock. I believe I read somewhere that Harmes said he will be playing more forward this year to allow for Petracca to take his midfield spot.
The other option I’m considering is Ceglar. Full-time rucks rarely score poorly, and if he maintains the gig, he should average at least 90. He would also provide excellent coverage in the rucks if Gawn/Grundy miss games, and also during the byes.
I’ve also omitted Docherty from my starting team. Carlton’s defence has changed a lot since he’s been gone. With Newman and Marchbank killing it back there, I think Docherty’s role will be significantly reduced. I think he’ll average around 100, 105 at the most, and mid/high-80’s at the worst. At this stage, not starting him is a bit of a POD. Given he’ll probably start slowly, and even if he goes on to average 100, he shouldn’t be too expensive to bring in at a later stage.
An alarming number of rucks in this team – Grundy, Gawn, Cameron, Xerri, Williams and possibly Ceglar too!
DEF:
Laird, Sicily, Houston, Hill, Starcevich, Gould (Rivers, B. Williams)
Basically the same as mine bar the F3 position. I didn’t want to have D. Smith in my team but currently do which has allowed a little more $$ to move Cameron to Ruck and bring in Sparrow (Melb) and Bonar (for Brander). I’m sure it will change again but I feel Smith, Sparrow and Bonar will generate more point and potentially more cash than Petracca, Brander and Xerri/Rankine (depending on who F6 is).
Geesh as…they are dropping like flies. And the season is three weeks off !! Where can we get a definitive list of all injuries like is published weekly during the year ??
Quality side, I’ve had Daniel in my side since day one, I love him as a POD. IMO he will out score Laird and Houston, but ultimately it’s your decision but I’d just like to say that Daniel is only 23 now so he’s still developing and he just had his first breakout year in a key position, I like his chances to go better.
This is a really well-rounded team, with 14 potential keepers. Great use of value.
Personally I’d prefer starting with Houston or Laird over Daniel, purely because I think the previous two are underpriced for their potential. Daniel is priced at his maximum, but will consistently give you 95-100’s.
If enough cheap rookies present ideally I would like to remove Green/Sparrow/Starcevich for bottom price players to allow Smith to be upgraded to someone I feel will average higher to minimise a trade later on.
I’ve gotta go Hunter. I know he’s a lot more expensive but he’s just come off a very promising year with a lot of ups and downs. He’s only 20 so he’s bound to progress in some way, and a full preseason of him training the role that got him decent points near the end of last season should do him wonders.
Clark was one of my first picked this year. Love him as a player and think he can push th 95ish average this year but due to multiple line up changes i have dropped him. Now got the cash to spare if i need to swap roberton to him.
I like this team it’s good and unique! My only queries would be Salem and Rozee as I just don’t think their averages will break 90. That’s just a personal opinion so more power to you if you run with them. Loving the Treloar pick, he may be the highest scoring POD this season, I had him last year and he didn’t let me down.
Trealor has done a hamstring and is unlikely for round 1.
I’d probably do Docherty over Salem although Docherty does carry risk coming back from 2 years off the pitch.
Rozee is not in my team, but I don’t hate the pick. He should improve but I’m not sure he will end up top 6. That being said, I think the fwd line is pretty hard to pick this year, so at the moment I’m going the strategy of going light on forwards and waiting to see who rises from the pack (assuming I can find enough cheep playing options to fill the ranks).
Has only averaged over 50 once in 6 years (2017, 51.6ave from 20 games) so personally I’d stay away and look at using the extra cash to upgrade a midpricer to a premo
Feedback appreciated! Feel like I’m spending too much in defence but I’m not sold on Docherty and there don’t appear to be too many rookies and any mid-pricers are gambles I’m not sold on taking.
18k left.
Byes will be tight, basically can’t get anyone from the last round. But I expect injuries to change it up a bit.
Rowell on the pine with a loop. I can now loop the tagged mid every week or cover an injured uber premium for a week or 2. So I miss his points on field but I still get alot of use out of him and get his cash later on.
Well, its different that’s for sure. Interesting to see how it goes if you do start with this structure.
The main problem I see is you miss out on the best cash generation which is usually mid rooks.
gutsy move…11 certain keepers but you may end up with a few doughnuts there in the early rounds….particularly in a year where few rookies have staked any genuine claim for inclusion in R1 teams…may be a few anxious moments …none of these are certain starters imo….
Everyone outside of the 11 are there just to make up numbers. I don’t care who they are. Just looking for games played and a 70 average across the board for them.
I like the bold strategy about going deep in the mids because that’s where most of the points are made. However, I have shied away from this approach because it does not allow you to pick up any in-season bargains in the midfield, which I think would end up costing you extra money per point. The only way I would see this working is if the mids you pick end up being the top 8 for the year – given that there are usually only 3-4 that meet that criteria, I think you’re overspending on what you will get in return.
That is true. I just feel this season in particular you have a excellent chance of selecting 8 of the top 11 mids.
Just sick of the Merritt, Sloan, Duncan and yeo type selections. Yes there all fine picks, but could be better.
The amount of times I get stuck with the 15th or worst best mid in my team due to pressing issues elsewhere is annoying. So I’m trying to avoid that.
And as for the bargains, how often do the break into the top 8? Or are just having a purple patch. I’d rather get the bolters from the def or fwd.
Thanks for thoughts!
With that team you might stand a chance of leading SuperCoach and winning the weekly $1000 for the first 5 weeks … but… unless there is then a constant stream of fwd and def downgrade options then cant see how you will be able to cover byes and get to full premo and maintain your rank. Either an act of genius or extreme lunacy. Love it!
Peoples thoughts on Heeney? He was frustrating to have last year, but I don’t want to miss out on the year it just clicks! Where will he play? Fwd, or more MID time this year??
I saw an interesting strategy load up with all premium mids and rucks then mid priced forwards and backs
TU if you like that strategy
TD if you don’t like that strategy
I am looking for points of difference in 2020 – I thought Bonar was my man, after the weekend his no longer my man.
Backs…
Houston Crisp Docherty lukosius roberton williams
(McLennan Gould)
wait and see with Naismith his next game. 79 and only 50% game time in his first game and best off season he has had.Gee my team looks so good with him in at R2 .same bye tho as G/G.If it pays off it would put you right up there tho.
Hey, Callum. Overall structure and selections are good with two exceptions:
1) Trent McKenzie played as a lock down defender on McStay in the Marsh Series. Unless you have some serious intel that has escaped the rest of us, I’d get rid of him.
2) Martin shouldn’t be in your MID line. If you’re set on starting him do so in your FWD line.
Agree totally Jason. It can actually be an advantage starting Martin in the mids as he is a definite forward keeper whereas a midpriced mid at m5 will most likely just be a stepping stone.
Hi folks, hoping to get some thoughts and suggestions on my current side:
DEF: Sicily, Houston, Docherty, Ash, S. Hill, H. Young (Brander, Gould)
MID: Macrae, Neale, Fyfe, J. Kelly, P. Cripps, Rowell, T. Green, M. Pickett (Serong, McHenry, Close)
RUC: B. Grundy, Gawn (Conroy)
FWD: Whitfield, D. Martin, D. Smith, Georgiades, Rankine, Budarick (M. King, Mahony)
Low risk is good to start. Trade well and have luck with injury and you should be in good shape after the buys. I like cookie cutter teams. G&R proven strategy.
Not fussed at all with a “cookie cutter” side by any means. There’s a reason why some of those players are highly selected. Why would you try to get too funky if there’s a player there who will do the job?
@Jason……
Cookie cutter? It’s inevitable that a lot of teams are very similar if not the same at this point. We’re choosing players based on past/current form, breakouts, new rookies. The selection pool is limited. Troll somewhere else if you’re ‘non cookie cutter’ team is perfect mate. No one cares.
Ever heard the expression ‘great minds think alike’? Seems to be a lot of great minds posting here.
That escalated quick. When did I say my team was perfect? All I said is he probably won’t get too many suggestions with a cookie-cutter team… (FYI there’s been 4 comments and nobody has given him suggestions)
I never said his team was bad at all. Some of you need to just chill
Heya Coaches!
Happy March, not long to go till the first bounce of the season.
Just wondering your thoughts on Hill and Young from FREO, currently sitting on 55% and 29% ownership. I prefer the look of Ash in my backline.
The great man has been serviceable for years, but at 31 the best case scenario is he averages the same as last year, other than that he will start declining
Pretty ironic of you to use that name considering , by the looks of your team, you haven’t got any 😉
Cookie cutter team besides petracca. Looks like you’ll need to swap a few of your rookies around but it’s a solid team.
Rookies are dependent on rd 1 teams, I think that goes for everyone.
I don’t see that many people going Macrae, Dunkley & Bont… if the dogs have a bad game, it’s likely I will too!
I put extra $ into rookies across all lines. I think it’s needed to have the JS this year.
Docherty, Houston & Petracca are all question marks, but I can see them all scoring more then they’re priced at.
Hate to burst your bubble, but you’re no Hardwick. Literally no one is going to copy your team, especially if your main whinge (I’m not using the word criticism because you’re not even providing that) is basically that everyone’s team is the same. There probably aren’t a lot of teams with a starting ruck combo of Kreuzer and Bellchambers, so that wouldn’t be cookie cutter – doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.
Luke probably asked you to post your team so that we could determine for ourselves if you’re just here to complain.
So I’ve read through the rest of the thread and you were providing more feedback / critique in later posts (the posts I read above my comment were less helpful), so I would like to apologize for the extra snark I included in my previous post (for some reason, I can’t seem to be able to edit it).
All good mate, sometimes things on here are read differently than the way they are meant to be read. My first post was mainly in jest but I can see how it ruffled a few feathers, apologies.
I wanted to make the point that anyone who doesn’t have gawn (no matter who the R2 is) has been told to get gawn in. There’s a massive risk in not having him but a risk that could pay off massively.
I’m not here to complain, I like to see others opinions whilst helping anyone that wants it. At the same time I don’t really need anyone to critique my own team.
So you missed my post back a bit.
And yes I could go cookie cutter, but I’ve chosen to experiment this season. Weather its bad or good dosnt concern me. I just see an opportunity this season where you can all but guarantee the top 11 scoring mids to choose 8 to start in your team.
The first marsh series netted it around 2200 points(yes I’m aware it’s only practise, but still a guide to work off) If that happens again think I could be onto something. At leased well enough to play if through.
If I could give my 2 cents to your little experiment.
Would it not be more prudent to perhaps select say Houston at M8 and Buderick at M11 This would give you just that bit of wiggle room to..
A. Cover back or forward for short term injuries / rookies dropped etc…
Secondly you get to fit in that one Mid Premo you may of missed out on.
You would still start 7 of the top 8 mids (potentially) and having Rowell on field at M8 is a Shield anyway as he is so highly owned. You could still loop with Pickett as he plays alot of Fridays ?
Good luck what ever you try. It’s better to try and fail , than never try at all !
Thanks FT, sound advise as always, which i’m not able to apply just yet sorry.
You must have a really good chance of averaging 110+ or provide exceptional value to start in this team.
Sorry but that’s the theme behind it. If i waiver a bit i might end up straying too far from what it is supposed to be.
But don’t worry i’m taking all advice on board and taking notes incase it goes decently i’ll know what i’m up for next season.
Probably 3-5-2-3 or a variation, sigh…
G’day folks, hope everyone’s well and truly pumped for the opening bounce in 16days. Thanks to all the moderators for their time and effort in producing quality insights regularly throughout the pre-season.
I’m a saints fan and my favourite players are Plugger ( the reason im a saints supporter) Winmar and Hayes. And if there was 1 change to Supercoach I’d make it would be, once you trade a player out you may not trade him back in!!
Anyway sorry for my ramblings here’s my latest version of my team….
DEF- Stewart, Dawson, Clark,
Lukusis, Ash, Gould.
Keane, Greaves.
MID- Macrae, Neale, Kelly,
Cripps, Dunkley, Rowell,
Serong, Green.
Pickett, Mead, Buderik.
RCK- Grundy, Marshall. Williams.
FWD- Whitfield, Mcpherson, Rozee,
Hill, Sparrow, Rankine.
Cameron, Close.
Appreciate any feedback, kinda expecting thumbs down to win this one.
PS on a silly sidenote there could be a Simpson/Flanders match-up this yr(surely a broadcasters dream).
Hey Jason, thanks for commenting, not completely sold on either of those guys and would prefer Mcpherson at F3 however i do have a hunch he could be a breakout this yr. Last yr was his 1st full season, a bit up and down averaging 81. Another strong showing in Marsh rd 2 and my confidence will rise. With Lukosis hearing good things regarding role and fitness, hopefully can become a stepping stone. Overall i want rookies with JS so sacrificed with Marshall instead of Gawn and D2- D3 . Obviously this weekend we’ll learn more.
Like the rozee selection. Lots of good reports from PA supporters on their forum. Looks set for a ripper year. If he gets time on the ball again in preseason game 2 he will be hard to ignore for F3 spot on my team.
Cheers Vicwood yeah Rozee hopefully proves a wise choice, certainly has a bit of x-factor about him. Feels like F3 and D3 are going to be critical to get right. Good luck to you too.
First attempt at putting together this years team:
Def: Houston, Docherty, Roberton, Ash, Hill, Gould (Brander, Starcevich)
Mid: Macrae, Neale, Cripps, Dunkley, Oliver, Rowell, McHenry, Pickett (Greene, Robertson, Rivers)
Ruck: Gawn, Grundy (Naismith)
Fwd: Whitfield, Petracca, Steven, Smith, Worrall, Rankine (Cockatoo, King)
The only real locks for me so far are the obvious Midfield 5 and GG. I realise Naismith is a lot of money to invest on a ruck sub, but can’t really see and ruck rooks making any money early.
Williams Sicily Doc
Greaves Williams (WC) Gould
BENCH – Worrell Rivers
Kelly Cripps Bont Trealor Martin Shiel Rowell Green (GWS ROOKIE)
BENCH -Pickett Sharp Mead
Gawn Grundy
BENCH – Conroy
Petracca Greenwood Dixon Smith Rankine Cameron (Pies)
BENCH – Budarick Close
50k salary left
I currently have Whitfield and Walter and King but THOUGHTS ON THIS FORWARD LINE INSTEAD. Dixon has 3 easy games to start to the season hoping he can get back to 2017 season. TU OR TD AND FEEDBACK PLEASE
This is where I’m sitting for now no Gawn but like the depth in all the line I’ve been able to create with the money as rookies are becoming. Real concern as I think we will have fewer basement price rookies than we have ever had
Thoughts, not too sure about team yet. My rookies are probably not going to play see what happens.
Def: Larid, Houston, Doc, Ash, Young, Gould (Brander, Greaves)
Mid: Macrae, Neale, Fyfe, Cripps, Coniglio, Rowell, Anderson, Green (Pickett, C-Dawkins, Budarick)
Ruck: Grundy, ROB (Conroy)
For: Whitfield, Martin, Greenwood, Bonar, Hill, King (Georgiades, Rankine)
Sure, Curnow is cheap and looked good at points late last year, but he is over 30 and has every chance of averaging less than 90 even. I’ve always fone deep in the mids and it has served me very well (the best being 14th overall two years back) . Would seriously recommend paying the extra and look for more value elsewhere. Do you see him as a keeper or early stepping stone? I like that you went four deep in your fwds, but i see more value by having hill as a fwd as opposed to def, and trusting your rookies to get the job done to an extent.
This team is good and initially made me wow, but potentially losing 30 points a week and being stuck with a curnow has me concerned. All the best mate
The Ed Curnow pick is different and he has been known to score well in the past. The question is will he be a top 10 scoring midfielder by end of season? I can see you have both Steven and Smith in as forwards – are you planning to hang onto both as potential top 10 forwards or as cash cows to trade up? If the later, pick one of them and a rookie.
James Aish ex Pie that has never really had a decent crack at it. he was coached by longmuir last year.If he can hold down the open Wing spot at Freo, he could push 90+. This may not be quite good enough for top 8 Defender, but its pretty dam good for his price.
He is priced at $353K ( 65 ave) I wouldn’t normally be looking, but the lack of Rookies across the board has me scrambling for Mid / underpriced options.
I will be watching closely for our second Marsh game. If Aish stays in the Midfield / Wing mix with our strongest side on the park and no new rookies show up. Aish may make his way into my side. Saying all that..
I would in no way recommend him to anyone else !
I really think Marshall can get close enough to Gawn this year, let’s not forget last year was just his first full year, the skies the limit. Not having Gawn is playing with fire but i think I’m willing to
Watch out for Bonar injury news, Acres a no for me,and i like the Hooper pick just not with Oliver as well. Personally would go 1 and fork out a little xtra for an uber- mid
Before me posting this there has been a couple injuries on muni side including Gawn, Rankine and Bonnar, idk what the extent of he injuries are so atm they are still in my team
DEF: Laird, Docherty, Houston, Hill, Young, Starchevic (Rivers, Guold
MID (a bit indecisive about the premiums): Neale, Fyfe, Cripps, Mitchell, Bontempeli, Rowell, Stephens, Pickett (McHenry, Philip, Robertson)
RCK: Grawn (Comben)
FWD: Whitfield, Martin, D Smith, Bonar, Rankine, King (Worrel, Budarick)
My first year of SuperCoach so I want a lot of constructive criticism
Just looking for any advice. Rookies are obviously subject to change. But does anyone have any info on the two West Coast defenders? Are they going to play?
Lycett pick is unique, some have pointed out his early match-ups are a negative. Lynch got some love from All Saints so could be gold, not for me though. Houston in the middle is a 1st, surely better in backline. Good luck
Pretty solid Matt, you’re missing a few bench players so not a complete team to check. Weller not at D1 and 3Doggie mids could pay off, however i prefer 1 or 2.
DEF: Ryan, Houston, Roberton, SHill, Brander, Gould, Bianco, Rivers
MID: Macrae, Cripps, Dunkley, Bont, Oliver, Rowell, McHenry, Pickett, Valente, Robertson, Budarick

Any constructive critacism would be amazing. I question Dawson because lloyd and mills didn’t play but I need some convincing he wont be a top 6 back.

The big doggies trio! I like! The rest of the squad is also solid. Well done!

Fwd: Whitfield Dusty Rozee Hill King Rankine ( Davis Worrel)

Not “rate my team” related, but curious on to people’s thoughts on S.Lemmens?
TU: worth the extra cash over rookie, better chance getting a game with decent(ish) scores
TD: will struggle to get a game, or will not score well.

The def and fwds will be cheaper to pick up then the mids. Save some cash there.
gutsy move…11 certain keepers but you may end up with a few doughnuts there in the early rounds….particularly in a year where few rookies have staked any genuine claim for inclusion in R1 teams…may be a few anxious moments …none of these are certain starters imo….
Def: Noble, Ash, BZT, Greaves, Williams. Gould, Rivers.
Fwds: Butler, Rankin, Xerri, King. Close, Baldrick.
….will vandenberg last more than a few rounds?
Everyone outside of the 11 are there just to make up numbers. I don’t care who they are. Just looking for games played and a 70 average across the board for them.
I like the bold strategy about going deep in the mids because that’s where most of the points are made. However, I have shied away from this approach because it does not allow you to pick up any in-season bargains in the midfield, which I think would end up costing you extra money per point. The only way I would see this working is if the mids you pick end up being the top 8 for the year – given that there are usually only 3-4 that meet that criteria, I think you’re overspending on what you will get in return.
Good luck.

Keen to get your feedback
Love to hear people’s thoughts on realistically swapping out Gawn for Naismith.
wait and see with Naismith his next game. 79 and only 50% game time in his first game and best off season he has had.Gee my team looks so good with him in at R2 .same bye tho as G/G.If it pays off it would put you right up there tho.
Heres my team. Still deciding on my premium DEF:

FWD: Whitfield (GWS), Greenwood (GCS), Petracca (MEL), Hill (FRE), Flanders (GCS), Rankine (GCS)
Otherwise, everything looks good.
There’s no law that says Martin must be in the forward line.
If Callum is confident on petracca and greenwood being keepers there’s no reason he can’t start Martin in mids.
Agree totally Jason. It can actually be an advantage starting Martin in the mids as he is a definite forward keeper whereas a midpriced mid at m5 will most likely just be a stepping stone.
Switch Martin with Flanders and no-one will be having this conversation

Probably won’t get any suggestions on your cookie cutter team. Very stock standard mate
Jason can you POQ?
Low risk is good to start. Trade well and have luck with injury and you should be in good shape after the buys. I like cookie cutter teams. G&R proven strategy.
Not fussed at all with a “cookie cutter” side by any means. There’s a reason why some of those players are highly selected. Why would you try to get too funky if there’s a player there who will do the job?
@Jason……

Team looks good, but I would steer clear of Coniglio given his change to a 50/50 MID/FWD this year and I’m not sold just yet on Dev Smith.
So you could drop Smith for Vandenberg or Bonar and use that extra cash to grab Neale or Dunkley in Coniglio’s place.
No to vanderberg for me. Only training half as many sessions as his teammates.

Good catch, Mick. Looked alright during the Marsh game from 71% TOG though.
Just on the prowl for those 2nd/3rd year rookies at the 200k range to make up for the lack of debut rookies this year. Might have to look elsewhere.
Achillies tendonitis for William’s mate, I wouldn’t touch him personally.
Love the schoenberg pick, that kid is a jet.
I feel you will need to see some Steven in the pre season before you can start him.
Flanders is also a gun, we just need him to get a game in before the season starts, same with schoenberg (who dominated the U23 hit out against port).
Am I missing something – so many coaches still with Petrecca, but didn’t he break his collarbone????
You have some very strange dreams, Mary.
Confused him with Taranto

I was pleased he included “Butts”.
Love that you have forked out for ash and serong. In a week rookie field I think it’s extremely worth it, solid team
Every team on here is basically the same, not much imagination.
Would love to find the 72% of people that aren’t starting Gawn, doesn’t seem to be anyone on here…
Who’s ballsy enough to start Naismith?
Where’s your team champ?
Why would I want anyone to copy my team, champ?
What part of “Rate my Team” are you not grasping?
Whole premise is for everyone to exchange ideas, feedback and strategy.
I understand how this works mate, doesn’t mean I have to post my team.
I’m happy to give advice and talk strategy but posting my whole team is not going to happen.
Would Hardwick show opposition coaches all his tactics before the game?
Theoriginalforce
All good TOF
I still think Houston can go 100+ and finish top 6 defender 😉

PS on a silly sidenote there could be a Simpson/Flanders match-up this yr(surely a broadcasters dream).
A lot of POD’s, very different to most teams which can be a good thing and a bad thing.
McPherson and Lukosius are probably the 2 that stand out. What’s your thoughts with those guys? I think there are better options personally.
Good Luck.
Cheers Vicwood yeah Rozee hopefully proves a wise choice, certainly has a bit of x-factor about him. Feels like F3 and D3 are going to be critical to get right. Good luck to you too.
First attempt at putting together this years team:

Ruck: Gawn, Grundy (Naismith)
Fwd: Whitfield, Petracca, Steven, Smith, Worrall, Rankine (Cockatoo, King)
The only real locks for me so far are the obvious Midfield 5 and GG. I realise Naismith is a lot of money to invest on a ruck sub, but can’t really see and ruck rooks making any money early.
The ruck rookie is usually your “cheap” loophole option not a money earner. ….M.

35k in the bank. Any thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers mate. Yeah i’m still weighing up if I want to stick with Ed or upgrade him.
D3 around $440k with potential to be top 10 scoring defender by season end.

Comment other.
Maybe Clark
Not a bad shout Freo, new team/role and environment can spark a player. Awkward price though…

Rks: Grundy, Marshall (Xerri)
Fwds: Whitfield, Martin, Acres
Bonar, Brander, M.King
(Rankine, Mahony)
I really think Marshall can get close enough to Gawn this year, let’s not forget last year was just his first full year, the skies the limit. Not having Gawn is playing with fire but i think I’m willing to
Watch out for Bonar injury news, Acres a no for me,and i like the Hooper pick just not with Oliver as well. Personally would go 1 and fork out a little xtra for an uber- mid
Thought I’d try my hand, go nuts.

My first year of SuperCoach so I want a lot of constructive criticism
I like it,very balanced!
I’m a massive Lycett fan but his opening 5 rounds are intimidating… appreciate your thoughts on this left-field change to Naismith:
TU: Lycett & Roberton
TD: Naismith & J. Kelly (via Houston DPP)
Hey Guys
Just looking for any advice. Rookies are obviously subject to change. But does anyone have any info on the two West Coast defenders? Are they going to play?
Def: Laird, Houston, Docherty, Roberton, Brander, Greaves (B.J. Williams, Gould)
Mid: Macrea, Neale, Cripps, Danger, Oliver, Rowell, Green, Pickett (McHenry, McInerney, Budarick)
Ruc: Grundy, Gawn (Conroy)
Fwd: Whitfield, Martin, D.Smith, Bonar, S.Hill, Rankine (King, D.Cameron)
I’d like to know too, calling Matteo…
Otherwise team prior to the above stroke of genius/madness was as follows. Appreciate any criticism and feedback.
Def: Ryan, Sicily, Docherty, Roberton, Ash, Gould (Brander, Rivers)
Mid: Macrae, Cripps, Dunkley, Oliver, Houston, Vandenberg, Rowell, Green, (Pickett, Mchenry, Budarick)
Ruck: Grundy, Lycett (Comben)
Fwd: Whitfield, Petracca, Lynch, Smith, Hill, Rankine (Cameron, King)
Lots of DPPs in there to remain flexible.
Lycett pick is unique, some have pointed out his early match-ups are a negative. Lynch got some love from All Saints so could be gold, not for me though. Houston in the middle is a 1st, surely better in backline. Good luck
Backs: Weller, Dawson, Milera, Ash, Willamson, Gould
Mids: Macrae, J.Kelly, Dunkley, Cripps, Bontempelli, Rowell, Green, Pickett
Rucks: Grundy, Gawn
Forwards: Whitfiled, Martin, Parish, Bonar, Rankine, King
Cash remaining: $104,900
Thoughts please
Love your midfield but worried by the strength of your backline
Defenders need a lot of work both Weller and Milera are risky. I would only pick one of them if you’re looking for something different.
The rest of the team I wouldn’t change. It all looks pretty standard.
You could downgrade Parish to Dev Smith and upgrade one of Weller or Milera but this could turn your team into a very stock lineup.
Pretty solid Matt, you’re missing a few bench players so not a complete team to check. Weller not at D1 and 3Doggie mids could pay off, however i prefer 1 or 2.
Thumbs up Dawson
Thumbs down Docherty
Gawn has apparently hurt his knee and will supposedly miss 3/4 weeks but hopefully right for round 1. Does this change any coaches plans??

T/U Holding on to big Maxxy
T/D Too risky
Article/injury is from late Jan however the question still remains. 4 weeks out before round 1 could cost us some points.
This is very old news. If he is picked for round 1 then pick him if he isn’t then don’t it’s simple.
TU Docherty
TD C Daniel
Throwing up some different premiums here as POD considerations…welcome thoughts on these players who have been strong past SC performers.
