Another Bye round….. here goes:
Rookies on the radar (<$200k) this week:
1) T Nicholls (Ruck $115k) Ablett, Swan, Selwood and Nicholls…. WTF? Nicholls was the 5th highest scorer for the round with the usual suspects first and second and Selwood’s 137 actually 2 points behind. Nicholls has now played 2 this season (and one in 2011). With Zac Smith down and the Suns picking him ahead of Gorringe, the future looks bright for Nicholls especially after the weekends big win. He has the Round 13 bye. I brought him in for Burger last week out of necessity when Bliz was rested, and honestly could not have been happier as I was hoping for a solid 70 and then he scored an obscene 139. He was very solid against the Cats with 11 disposals and 7 tackles scoring 90 points and went bananas against North having 16 disposals and 10 tackles scoring 139 points. Huge Pay Rise coming his way!
2) K Martin (Mid $110k) Martin has been exceptional for the Pies since coming in as a 22yo rookie. Martin’s round 13 Bye and the fact that he’s just played his second is his only negative. His first run brought home 97 points and he backed it up with another 80 points this week.
3) T Mitchell (Mid $115k) Woooweee! I can tell right here, right now, Mitchell will have the number one billing next week after he sees out his round 12 Bye. He has been unbelievable with 18 disposals 6 marks, 1 goal and 6 tackles scoring 87 points first up, and this week wound-up had a massive swing and smashed it out of the park with 31 touches, 5 marks, 1 goal and 10 tackles scoring 126 points…. Forget who you have in your midfield, if you haven’t got him, then GET HIM for round 13 (I certainly will)
4) N Hrovat (Mid $114k) Hrovat is now past the Bye hurdle and has played 2, with and ave 74. A very likely prospect. If it wasn’t for Mitchell and Martin, I’d be pumping up his tyres like no tomorrow.
5) S Gimley (Ruck $115k) Grimley is also past the Bye hurdle and has also played 2, with and ave 74. I did like the look of Grimely as a Ruck downgrade option until Nichols hit the scene, and he has far better JS prospects.
6) J Daniher (Fwd $154k) Another son of a gun to take center stage. There’s no doubting the kid is gona be good, just a matter of how long it takes to become a superstar. A few might criticise his game because of the hype, but for any big forward in their first game I thought it was reasonably solid as he was never gona be BOG, and if he had of nailed a couple of those shots he would have been better received. He scored 55 and has the Round 13 Bye. JS is iffy with Hurley, Gumby, Bellchambers, Crameri, Ryder and maybe even Hille (ok maybe not Hille) competing for spots.

Cheers BS. Definitely one of the most exciting rookie reviews in a while. So many options have arrived at a great time of the season. Its going to be hard to fit them all in.
I brought in Mitchell last week. I’ll bring in Nicholls and maybe Hrovat this week. Martin’s R13 bye is going to make it hard to put enough mids on the park.
So.. should either of these guys be cashed into a new midfield Rookie? (All of them seem to have a bit more to earn but probably not huge):
Brad Crouch
Josh Thomas
Should mention I have 18 trades left, will probably do Campbell Heath into mid rookie (via shifting Goodes back to def) or Campbell Heath into Birchall
Rubbing hands together. Kommer will be out next week for Mitchell.
This week am thinking Nicholls downgrade for Blicavs, then upgrading Jacobs to big Will Minson.
Will have 19 on the park (providing nil injuries/withdrawals) going into the next round.
Can anybody help me with Jimmy Webster? Do I have reason to be concerned about his JS?
I picked him up weeks ago with Thurlow and hoped they could hold down my defensive bench for the rest of the season but I am concerned about the JS of both.
Nice write up BS.
On Daniher … What would you rate his JS out of ten? Can we expect him to play every game for the rest of the season?
Nicholls and Hrovat for me this round
Nichols looks the good, but I’ve been burnt by, Rowe, hannath and fawn this season already , thoughts?
Daw -> Nicholls
M. Jones -> Hrovat
I’d be cautious for those trading out Rowe the Ruck/For swing comes in handy especially for injuries later in the season.
Rucks usually get injured quite easily so it’s good to keep Rowe even though he’s dead wood.
thinking this week:
LeCras > Minson
Moloney > Hrovat
Gawn > Nicholls
Leave 360k
Next week:
Kommer > Mitchell
O’meara > J Selwood
Anderson > O’keefe, or Swan the week after
leaves me needing 1 fwd and 1 defender with 8 trades left
Gaaawwwnnnn >> Nicholls this week.
Jaegermeister >> Mitchell next week.
Anyone got any info on Blayne Wilson. Besides the fact that he has a rubbish name.
Here’s a question. I have one midfield spot left to fill. I was planning on going Crouch to Mitchell and O’Meara to JPK but is Mitchell a waste on the bench. Can I play him as a M8 for a while and perhaps bring Stevie J in at F6 for Dwyer or Maccafer instead?? Interested in some thoughts
hey guys, who would be the better midfield downgrade out of martin and hrovat??
Already got Nicholls. Terlich will make way for Birchall
TU – O’meara to T Mitch next week (O’meara is scoring well his price shouldn’t move too much)
TD – O’meara to Hrovat this week (Trade Viney/Crouch for T Mitch next week)
Ok am I crazy (TD) or slightly above average intelligence?
I have been holding on to jacobs all year waiting for his form to turn but I don’t think I can wait any longer I’m thinking
Jacobs to Nicholls, pocket the cash, hope that he can punch out a few more scores better than Sauce and then Upgrade him to big Will (or the like) and have Cox to cover round 13?

Hey guys, anyone know much about Jed Anderson from the Hawks? Expecting him to get a game after injury? Not sure whether to trade him out yet, hasnt really gone up enough..
heres my team so far..
B.Goddard B.Gibbs D.Hepple
B.Goodes N.Vlastuin Thurlow Int: J.Clarke S.Docherty
G.Ablett S.Pendlebury O.Wines K.Stevens
J.Viney B.Crouch M.Hutching J.Lonergan Int. J.Toumpas L.Neale
D.Cox I.Maric Int: N.Vardy D.Currie
D.Martin J.Kennedy L.Franklin
S.Kerridge B.Staker J.Daniher Int: S.Rowe J.Stringer
i have 18 trades left and $3.1 million in the bank.
im thinking this week to trade Kerridge for either A.Walker or J.Bartel
K.Stevens for N.Horvat
and O.Wines for either K.Martin or D.Swan
this takes me to the point of next week im unsure who to dump for Mitchell before his price Jumps. None of my cash cows will be at full value yet and i want to keep my premiums once i have them.
Any tips on that and who to get out of swan or martin and walker or bartel?

I still have Viney and Crouch on the bench and Crouch is finally back in the team. Does Hrovat have better JS than Crouch?
Havnt seen Nicholls play. Is he good enough to hold down R2 till he is tradeable? Will JS be an issue for him? Thinking of moving either Cox or NicNat to Fwd, bringing Nicholls in, this will give me some ruck points for R12 and a potential upgrade later or move Cox/NicNat back to ruck and upgrade a Fwd.
Am looking for a rookie downgrade in the forward line this week. Don’t care about the bye just looking at the long term and a good bench warmer.
TU – Daniher (may get more goals due to clean feed and ball crossing 50m line more often)
TD – Sumner (may get more games and can get up the ground)
Comments – neither, how bout this bloke …….
Hi guys
Having some trouble deciding whether to bring in either Barlow, fyfe or Griffen. I’m leaning towards Barlow but would love so more opinions.
Also wondering whether to upgrade terlich to either Ellis or harlett. Which would be the better option?
