  2. Crackin’ game.

Blues deserved the points and I now rate them for the first time in a long, long, long time. Actually playing with grit and ticker. Need to learn how to win though……..and never give the Cats a look in (or kick to Warnock).

Oh yeah, 219/2/Swan. What happened to JWood in the last??

Solid start but as you’d expect from your premiums. Wish I had Duigan on the park.

Benched Duigan again, but may make my decision on who to cut for Ben Jacobs next week a little easier if Lower doesn’t perform.

3 scores in the nineties, 2 in the 60s. I’m surprised Taylor only got in the 60s, he had at least 5 contested marks that I remember… and Jimmy with 2 goals only got 60 odd. Strange scoring from CD this time.

I need some big scores to get back on track.

On another note, cats will play GC next week after their bye, 3rd team in a row to play coming off the bye. As much as I hate to say, there could be an upset as they must be starting to get a bit knackered – at least mentally.

Duigan (92) – decided to field him last minute 🙂
Gibbs (98) – happy with that considering his lower scores of late
Selwood (121) good, but imagine what could of been. He dominated the first three quarters

It looked as though Stevie was in for a bigger one than what he ended up with. Same with Gibbs but Selwood is a freak.

VERY happy with Murphy last night, keeps doing his thing for me!
Good to see Gibbs have a half decent game
    Selwood, can never complain!

  9. So what happened to Bartel? Unfortunately we were out for dinner, so I was unable to watch the game…
Was he tagged out of the game?!?
    60-odd with 2 goals?!?!?!?!?!?!?
The man is a star, and I was shocked – was expecting at least 90. (thumbs up)
Or does this show that I obviously have no clue about SC? (thumbs down)

  11. Omen, when you started on here you were a bit of a tool, then, slowly, you were just starting to earn a bit of respect. And now it’s gone for good. You’re the reason a lot of people still hate carlton even though they haven’t done anything in over a decade. Most people usually grow a soft spot for the underdogs, but not for the blues (sorry Motts)

Very happy so far. Murphy (highest for Carlton) (highest for Geelong) and Enright (3rd highest for Geelong but behind where he should be) played.

  14. (I’m thinking they cancelled each other out)

so far 379/5 (ouch) and my captain will be Cox….

Happy with Duigan, ok with Gibbs. That’s it. Bloody Wojcinski subbed after a great game last week. Can’t believe Bartel only got 60 odd, stunned. He played better than that IMHO. Vardy also played better than 30, I was expecting maybe 50 something?? He played very well in unison with cokehead. Carlton very unlucky to lose.

    (C’mon saints win it today!)

Joelwood 121 & Gibbs 98. A nice start. Lets hope it continues.

HGL is also very excited to announce the recruitment of Matty Boyd and Tendai Mzungu to the team in a deal that unfortunately saw the departures of Daniel Harris & Edward Curnow.

  18. HI Sports Fans: Quick Public Announcement…. I’ve taken off Omen’s comments, and first time I personally have ever had to do that…. actually had to figure out how. Just a quick reminder we do do have people of all ages on this site, and a lot of kids….

Omen, my advise to you is:
    1. Blame Warnock for the loss, not the Cats. Blues lost it, the Cats didn’t win it.
    2. Be a happy drunk, not and angry drunk.
    3. We are all pasionate about footy, so be passionate, not an idiot.
    4. Perhaps think about giving the grog away.

  20. Why did I trade Duigan out ages ago?
    The mans a star.
    382 / 4 / Swan.
As it was said earlier, I cannot BELIEVE Bartels score!
    17 possesions, 5 marks, 3 tackles plus 2 goals and 61 points.
Matthew Stokes had 15 possesions, 6 marks, 2 goals and 3 tackles and 98 points!
Those stats are next to identical, yet Stokes scored 37 more points.
    Unfreakinbelievable.

Happy with Selwood, Gibbs and a one legged Judd.

  21. Playing a bloke on SCT 2 DT League called MY CHUMPS. I’m not sure who he is on these pages, or even if he has stopped coming here, but there are some curious anomalies in his team structure.

D: GRIMES & OTTEN named. GODDARD & PUOPOLO on the bench with TOY as EMG.
M: ABLETT (C), CURNOW & D.HARRIS named. BOYD & HIBBERD on the bench with POLEC.
F: ROO & MISSY on the bench. SCHNEIDER named EMG.

Maybe he is outta town on business or something, but, it looks like he hasn’t rotated Dog/Saints players back in his team after their bye. Certainly his team is in a terrible state and it sucks to play a team under those conditions.
If you are the coach of this team, it would be great for everyone in our league if you sort out your team so that it is more competitive.
    Cheers.

  22. 433/4/Montagna

Yes, I put the big C on Montags with virtually my last mouse click of the day. Went with my gut. Unfortunately didn’t go with my gut on Doi-gan and benched him for Lower. Now I’m hoping Lower is a withdrawal this afternoon.

Trades this week were L.Thompson >> Poo and D.Swallow >> Montags.
Good start with Joelwood, Bee Gees, Juddington and Chappy finally repaying some of the coin I spent on him.

Missed the game last night due to alcohol related activities, and extremely dissapointed to have missed the Omen’s insightful review of the game.

I picked Sellwood over Bartel at the start of the year. After round two Joelwood was KO’d and rested while Bartel (75K less) starred. I did wonder whether I made he wrong decision but after last night those doubts have gone. Selwood is a star!
Great to have Duigan back from the bye too.
So far so good this week, let’s see what Saturday holds.

  26. 219 / 2 / Mundy

Behind all my opponents due to my lack of Carlton / Geelong players. See that as a positive as both those teams have SC finals byes, hence why i don’t have many of them in my team.

Hope my new WA midfielders in Priddis and Mundy pull out some big games for me and A Swallow smashes the Bears. I definitely have some POD in my midfield. Also note that none of my opponents this weekend have Adcock.

  27. Went to the game last night and Mottsy, i hate to break it to you, but there is very little worse in AFL football than a Carlton supporter with a taste of finals success. Stereotypes generally have an element of truth in them and the stereotype of an arrogant Carlton supporter was alive and well in the top deck of Etihad last night.

    Homer: No problem.
    [stepping hard on Homer’s foot]
FBI man 1: Hello, Mr. Thompson.
[Homer stares blankly again for a few seconds]
Homer: [whispering to the FBI man next to him] I think he’s talking to you.

  31. I could go on all day, but one last one from me. hehe:

Marge Simpson: Homer, wasn’t the whole point to catch the Cat Burglar?
Lisa Simpson: And I still don’t have my saxophone.
Homer Simpson: Lisa, the mob is working on getting your saxophone back. But we’ve also expanded into other important areas. Literacy programs, preserving our beloved covered bridges, world domination…
    Lisa Simpson: World domination?
Homer Simpson: Oh ho, heh, that might be a typo.
    [thinks]
Homer Simpson: Mental note: the girl knows too much

  32. Dear All

Please accept my unreserved apology for the disgraceful rant posted early this morning. I’ve no intention to make light of the situation and appreciate that the posts were removed. Apparently that occurred early and hopefully before too many people saw it. I’m not inclined to disclose my age but suffice to say I’m old enough to know better.

I understand that I’ll need to work to regain your respect but hope the fact that I’m man enough to admit it goes some way toward that goal. It was excessively poor form, uncalled for, and entirely inappropriate. I’m sorry for any offense I caused, especially to the makers of this brilliant forum.

My gratitude to those who’ll accept this apology within the spirit in which it is intended.

    Sincerely
    Omen

Lowest score is Broughton’s 90. Happy i’ve stuck with BJ and Roo and Nick Lower, you star!!

Think there will be alot of massive scores if the trend of the round continues. That said, a few weeks back we all started off with flyers and then it fell apart on Sunday. Also, first two legs of my multi have got up. 🙂

Anyways, i’m off to the pub to watch North smash the Lions (hopefully).

  45. FYi: Pederson kicked EIGHT goals today for North’s magoos. Yes, EIGHT!!

His first game for North was as a ruckmen, his second game for North was as a defender, and he’s now kicking EIGHT in the 2nds.

  48. 1355/10/Montagna

Suffice to say I’m pretty happy. Montags captain choice was a rare stroke of genius on my part, and even Lower has made me look foolish by complaining about leaving Doi-gan on the bench. Lowest score is Broughton’s 90 (b@stard!). Lol at anyone who traded out Roo or BJ. Serves you right. Champions will reward your loyalty.

    Bring on Saturday night!

Super happy with Selwood, Goddard, Roo (Finally!) and LOWER – go you good thing. Thank the supercoach lord I didn’t bench him.

A little disappointed with Tapscott’s Hamstring. Couldn’t he just hold it together for one more week. Happy I decided to bench him, but he is my emergency. So fingers crossed I don’t get a donut.

Not a bad return for the end of the world.

    ~ Very happy with Lower!
~ Glad didn’t use my trades that I was thinking of completing. Will need to trade Tappy out this week. Was at that game and could tell it was his hammy straight away. Suggestions for replacement? anyone who says Taylor Walker will be put straight in the dunce’s corner (just quietly, what an IDIOT, no wonder you can’t get a game, such a waste of talent!!). Current thoughts are with either cheapy Tommy Lynch- suns (feels wrong to say that name- wrong team!!), Siposs, Markovic or McKernan (not so much).

~ As for my boys, sorry if this is self indulgent, but…. Roo had his highest disposal game of his career, didn’t know BJ had found so many possies (37!) because Joey was definately B.O.G, really happy with him. I think Siposs deserved better than the points he earnt, when he was subbed off in the final term, Crippa came on and got 30, had he been on for the whole game that’s 120, I would have been thrilled at that!! but yeah as I already have Cripps I think it *may* be a common sub with Siposs so would work as a disadvantage in terms of SC. So it’s either Lynch or Markovic for mine at this stage.

Lowest score so far is a 90 from Broughton. Only have 4 under 100 so far and that is Broughts, Mundy, Stevie J and Gibbs. The rest have done really well. I’ve got Boyd, Pendles, Goodes, Franklin, Massive, Krak, Missy, Libba and Thompson to go. Only bad thing was having Dish on the bench.

Made a really poor decision to put Petrie into the rucks as E after Griffin made the trip to Adelaide and brought Tapscott onto the ground.

    1603 / 13 / Mundy

Still have Pendlebury, Priddis, Cox, Franklin, O’Keefe, Dangerfield, Liberatore, Darling and Krakouer to come.

Fingers crossed, if they get an average of 100 each i’ll hit 2500pts. Yehaa!!

  68. 1493/13/Mundy bloody Mundy
Apart from Tappy, Mundy is my lowest scorer thus far and my captain. Lower is on my bench and ISN’T my emg, but, given my lowest def score is Gibbs 98 and I only have Hurn left in the back 7, I’ll cop that sweet. No pressure to score a ton is on you Hurnie. 😉
Apart from him I have Swan/Penders/Boyd/Lil Libba/Massive/Goodes/AKrak & Delicious to finish.

    0

    0
  69. 1510/12 Montagna
Petrie played, Lower as Emerg, Tapscott idle on bench so no complaints. Equation of (+374 points, Bob Murphy, Buckley, Goodes, Libba, Rioli & ROK) v (Nicoski, L.Thompson, Swan, Priddis, A.Krak, Roughie, Mummie) to win main league game (with us both having Cox, Darling & Swan but he has Swan as C).
Sold Higgins for Swan with 2 minutes to go, Missy will probably score 150, however at least Swan is better for the ticker!
PS, progress scores in ‘Foreigners’ league going really well, may improve on leagues placing of 270 if good finishes.

Broughton (90) and Duigan (92) only players not to crack the ton! All other players 111+.
Great decision to bench Tapscott this week and put Krakouer on the field.
Shaw, Pendlebury, Krakouer, L. Thompson, Franklin, Goodes, Cox (C), Darling, Boyd and Liberatore to come.
    Hoping 2500+ 😀

  72. Will be interesting to see what people do if Sandi misses a month like he may with turf toe. My first thoughts is to bench him, save the trade and store him away for the final 1/3 of the season. Have Smith for coverage or can swing Petrie into the ruck since i’ve got Joel Tippett at R4.

I haven’t enjoyed posting updates of my score this much since sometime last year.

Swan’s 80 places many of my opponents in my League matches with a lower captains score than Mundy. This is an unexpected treat and gives me a chance in a couple of bouts that I thought I had squandered through poor captaincy choice.
Leading in 3 games, 2 are too close to call including a SCT game against Max’s Maulers where I’m up by 12, but have used 1 extra player. It’ll come down to whether Hurn/Boyd & Delicious can outscore Puopolo/Buddy/Darling & Missy for him.
I am travelling nicely and have Hurn/Boyd/Delicious/Goodes/Lil Libba & Massive to finish, hopefully with some massive scores. 😀

  79. Didn’t think it was possible to hate Collingwood even more!

I guess Swan has a few in the bank so I’ll let him this week.

Dids, if you could follow me down this dank dark hall, have a quick word to the priest there and kindly put your head on this block please. So tempted.

  80. 2184/20/swan. plus carrying a doughnut for McEvoy, didn’t want to waste a trade for just 1 week.

pretty happy although guts&glory in SCT1 is gonna get over the line because of cox/boyd. hoping i could end his winning streak, damn.

  83. 2229 with Higgins Murphy and tapscott have cost me a win a slab and no doubt cost me some overall positions. Also had lower as my emergency
