Rustee's Draftee's – Mock Draft Round 1 (V 1.0)

Written by Motts on August 19 2010

Mock draft
**1.David Swallow (GC) – We all know he will be. Already playing at GC with very high raps, won the Larke medal for best Div 1 player at the U/18 Champs in 2009. Very fast and uses the ball particularly well. Described as a Tall Midfielder.

**2.Sam Day (GC) – GC will be looking for the best possible Key Forward Prospect in the draft for the 2nd or 3rd pick, here he is, Boy can this kid jump, also great speed for a big man.

**3.Harley Bennell (GC) – A Fast and skilled ball magnet as well as goal sneak, has the ability to kick a bag and get a ton of possies. His speed is a very important factor as well can outrun almost and body, except of course Usain Bolt. Won the Larke Medal for best Div 1 player at the U/18 champs.

**4.Sebastian Tape(WCE) – WCE will be looking for a permanent replacement for Darren Glass, here he is he also captained SA at the U/18 Champs really great leader.

**5.Andrew Gaff (GC) – Tough, ball magnet Midfielder here’s the next always seems to be able to get the balls from packs, best user of the ball in the draft, THE NEXT JUDD!!! (ed: that’s a VERY big call, Rustee!)

6.Lucas Cook (RICH) – Richmond are in desperate need of a Key half-forward to help out Jumpin’ Jack, this guy had a great U/18 champs and either he or Jack Darling should go to the tigers.

**7.Blayne Wilson (GC) – GC will need a small Gilbee like player for that they will either pick Wilson or Conca who both had great U/18 champs.

8.Dyson Heppell (BRIS) – Birchall/ Drummond type player and lord knows Brisbane need another backman, he almost always hits his team mates chest and provides great run out of defence.

**9.Jack Darling (GC) – Key Forward at 192cm is not expect to go that is probably why he will be draft before Sam Day, the good thing is he can also play in the Midfield.

*10.Shaun Atley (ESS) – Essendon will look for yet another Mid and this guy is an absolute gun, was probably in the top 5 players at the U/18’s carnival.

11.Jed Lamb (GC) – Probably a replica of Reimers, except way more talented, great small forward prospect for GC, and yes he wears Fluro Yellow boots.

12.Luke Parker (ADE) – ADE will look for a permanent replacement for both Goodwin and Edwards in the one, this kid is a great Mid player who can also ply off the half back line.

*13.Jared Polec (GC) – Precise kicking is this wingmans game and dodging is his game, he runs up the wing dodges his opponents and lets fly at goals, great goalkicking wingman.

*14.Jamie Solly (PA) – This guy is huge great key forward player halfway through the U/18 Champs he AVE. 161.5 DT points.

15.Daniel Gorringe (GC), 198cm – The obvious best ruckman in the draft could go higher but most likely still to GC. He is also very good in general play set up WA’s wins at the U/18 Champs with Bennell.

16.Ben Jacobs (NM) – This guy is almost a replica of Petrie, except he can’t play ruck he plays at either half back or half forward as a key position player perfect for NM.

*17.Jayden Pitt (MELB) – Can play wing or in the forward line as a small forward perfect for MELB, the late runner for the draft as he was unknown before this season with the Geelong Falcons and Victoria at the U/18s.Has lots of speed and precise kicking.

18.Brodie Smith (SYD) – Another running half back, good for SYD as he would allow Malceski to go into the Mid more with Kirk gone.

19.Josh Green (HAWK) – Another Ball magnet that should add a certain something to the Hawks MID, Might not start in RND 1. also AVE. 161.5 DT points halfway through the U/18 Champs. Won Tasmania’s MVP at the U/18 Champs.

20.Josh Caddy (CARL)-Collingwood are hot about this kid but Carlton should beat them to him, Plays as an inside mid can also play as a forward due to his unbelievable overhead skills. He is also very strong at get the ball from contests.

21.Scott Lycett (FRE) – Ruck/Key Forward player runs into space very well but at 195cm would probably be used as a back- up to big Sandi, mist likely play more as a forward.

**22.Thomas Liberatore (F/S)(WB) – This guy would probably go top 5 except he is a F/S pick, great ball use, great get skills, usually plays on the wing, In my opinion was probably in the top 3 for the U/18 Champs.

*23.Joel Wilkinson (STK) – NT best player at the U/18 Champs, brilliant half back/ Mid should be higher in my opinion but most likely won’t.

*24.Mitch Hallahan (GEE) – Could go higher but will most likely be a late 1st round pick great midfielder at the U/18’s uses the ball brilliantly and gets in and uses his body well a lot like Joel Selwood.

*25.Dion Prestia (COLL) – This guy could go a lot high, but i reckon he will come in here, Ave is 28 Disposals in the TAC cup this year , his U/18 Champs was ruined by injury but he is now back to his best at the TAC cup.

*Bulldogs second pick.Mitch Wallis (F/S)(WB) – Depending on if the Bulldogs get him with a F/S should determine whether he goes in the first or the second Round like Liberatore he was brilliant at the U/18 Champs, one of the best users of the ball in the U/18 champs.

Mentions to Reece Conca, Kieran Harper, Patrick McCarthy and Tom Lynch who should go early round 2 if not round 1.

* Players who i think should be in your SC team next year.
** Players who i most likely will include in my 2011 SC team

  1. Curious why there are players that you think we should pick in SC ’11 but that you are not personally going to pick in SC ’11. Are you trying to lead us astray Rustee??
