  1. Strikers won the bat flip and elected to bowl first.

Rain is forecast at some stage during the game.

  4. Example , chris lynn is considerered elite, in afl sc if he has a crap game (15 disposals) he still picks up 70 points or so . 0 points tonight 0, did he not touch the ball all night .. anyway !!!!

        1. yeah it annoys me Bruce when people do a thumbs down without owning it … they should explain why the thumbs down, in their opinion. Maybe Mottsy can get the site set up a little more like the NRL SC one, where every thumbs up or down vote shows who gave it … would be a good idea.

It is definitely not a very good SC platform this big bash – such a massive luck factor and extremely tight with movements, times of games etc … very difficult to follow well … which makes it not very inviting. …

          1. How are you macca, not really to worried by td on this thread , think there is a bit of tongue in cheek stuff going on , bit if not they are knobs anyway. Can’t wait for footy to start this stuff is a bit frustrating.

            1. yeah good mate – I’ve tried to embrace it, but the reality is, it isn’t a very good product. Very difficult to follow, very difficult to get good information on teams, timely, poor timeframes of games (I mean seriously, some games starting at 1 or 2 pm on weekdays?? – when people are working??) … and then there is absolutely no correlation to good decisions made on player choices … it is just such a luck factor …
your case in point – I have had three of my top level’ batsmen run out now like that (touch by bowler)

The need to try and get dual game players in, but to do so you have to take chances on lower level players … who often are in and out … even the ‘good players’ get given rests … so again, a massive luck factor … they need to allow at least an extra batter and bowler I think …

Anyway, I’ve tried … I’ll keep managing my team as best I can to the season end … but won’t go again next year … its just far to random to be worth my time …

Looking forward to the next SC season starting!

          2. Not trying to make an argument here , the cash generation is the same as AFL SC, you need rookies to ripen then trade off to fallen premo’s. If you do your research you can find more than adequate explanations of rounds and timings of games. You get 3 trades per round, which is almost easier than AFL SC. It’s a lot quicker and games can have monster scores from players on teams who have been smashed. Yes some bats will fail, but without variance and different variables to create big scores, then we would all be ranked #1 and there would be no fun at all in any fantasy games. Next round starts soon anyway, plan your trades and attempt to climb the ranks!

            1. Follow your thoughts nathan , so i have ended up with 5 batters who are considered good to elite and scored 28 points for the round , my point is if i had 5 good to elite players in afl sc you couldn’t score that poorly unless they were all injured in first minute.

            2. Nah Nathan – I agree with what you say, there is that … but we don’t have Gold or a source that explains the cash growth / loss (its great that the over the line sports site is there for the BEs (despite them saying Banton was -70 one week when he was actually 6!!) …
And yes, I do like it is much more clearer / concise and less arbitrary and no ‘scaling’ of scores (which is a huge downside of the AFL SC product) …

However, Bruce is correct … when you look at the players he has selected, and they all fail, for a variety of reasons, it is a massive loss of points … particularly to say someone who has Stoinis as captain (when he scores 150 actual runs and 300 points etc) … it is far too large a variance and does not reward the otherwise good decision making of player selections …

there would be an inordinate amount of ghost teams out there now, as far too many people would be caught out by these types of outcomes and lose interest … if you get the idea? … Just too random for mine … but each to their own!

              Cheers mate for the input!

              1. One thing i won’t do macca is turn in to a ghost team, if you start something you finish it, especially for your league mates. But unless something changes i won’t be back next year.

            3. and also, thus far, most of the rookies haven’t done any decent ripening!! (think the so called good ones – Green, Jewell, Sutherland etc) and also, things like rain outs, duckworth lewis effected results etc create even greater luck factors eg if you had players who went well when they batted (or bowled) but the other side didn’t get the equal chance … and so on … anyway, I’m sure we could all go on with pluses and minuses .. good for the discussion though!

              1. I agree with multiple points that have been raised , and one that certainly is of a massive variance is the washouts etc, but unfortunately that’s how the cookie crumbles. For the point on elite “bats” that’s why i tend to pick all rounders as they get two bites of the pie so to speak, with batting and bowling.
