Written by Motts on October 22 2020

A few adjustments from last night’s stable with rain forecast and to get more value in the stable fitting 5 Group 1 horses in rather than just 3.

  1. Thanks Mottsy!

I do need to change my jockey though as I think James McDonald only has a ride in the Manikato Stakes tomorrow night. After an early look Mark Zahra , Ben Melham , Jamie Kah or Craig Williams might the go.

Is their a jockey that someone likes after looking at their book of rides tomorrow night and Saturday?

  2. Hi TDA,
J Allen has a few good rides (and roughies) both Friday and Saturday.
With the weather forecast it’ll probabeel (pun?) mean more hard dirty work (ok no more puns) will need to be done to try and cover Saturday selections.
Hopefully there won’t be too many outs Saturday or there’ll surely be a mug or two amongst us….(sorry, couldn’t help it!)
Ps ATM TDA we have the same Capt…..are you concerned LOL.

  3. I think I will run with the in form jockey Mark Zahra after he rode 4 winners last Saturday.

I have to agree with the weather forecast Probabeel is looking a better option than Arcadia Queen who is not a wet tracker with only a 3rd from two tries on the soft.
Grandslam a front running leader is also a query in the wet so might use the 25k from Arcadia Queen to Probabeel to bring in a 125k Group 2-3 runner but not sure who yet.

Ecumenical looking like my new Captain with 2 wins on Soft 5 and 6 from 4 runs on wet tracks , however , Thermosphere is a big danger having won on soft and heavy tracks. Where as Young Werther is untried in the wet going.

    1. Shit happens!

I can spend more time researching my actual betting – probably a good thing after my recent Punters’ Club performance!

Already paying dividends with Hey Doc saluting!

  5. Great work Thommo nailing Hey Doc at double figure odds. Keep honing your betting skills for your next time around for the PC.

  6. You definitely were not alone missing lockout Thommo as 8% of teams missed lock out with another 21% selecting Diamond Effort which was a late scratching from the Manikato Stakes.

  7. I think we are in for an intriguing afternoon people.
Would they dare not run the Cox plate?
If they had too, think of the repercussions for the internationals and the Melbourne Cup.
Would they dare or be able to transfer the plate to a midweek country event?
…..so much to think about before the footy starts…..LOL
