MAJOR SEMI FINALS

1 Beckyistheman@SCT 2379 + 2404 = 4783 LOSE

4 Led Heppellin 2544 + 2658 = 5202 WIN by 419 pts

Massive upset #1 with back-to-back monstrous scores from Led Heppellin to rocket himself past Becky and into the SCT Cup Grand Final. Becky’s scoring is super solid but hasn’t really ramped up as the season’s progressed. Becky was scoring in the 2300’s as early as round 9 and into the 2400’s in round 11. Great scoring and has led to a super high overall ranking but hasn’t led to hitting peak form at the right time of the season for league play and also the SCT Cup.

2 Wedonotoforgive@SCT 2395 + 2577 = 4972 LOSE

3 Treloar and Order 2493 + 2489 = 4982 WIN by 10 pts

Super close this one. 10 measly points separated the two teams across two weekends of footy. A big bounce back from Wedonot this round but in the end it last week’s deficit was too much and T & O has reached the SCT Grand Final.

MINOR SEMI FINALS

Massive scores in both weeks saw Rock Coaches get the chocolates in SF1. In SF2 both teams went big in H2H1 and dipped in H2H2 with Schwarz’s Nudelsuppe getting the W in the lowest scoring of all the SF match ups.

5 Rock Coaches 2550 + 2656 = 5206 WIN

8 Kovanator 2426 + 2513 = 4939 LOSE by 267 pts

6 The Designated SC 2489 + 2313 = 4802 LOSE

7 Nudelsuppe@SCT 2503 + 2377 = 4880 WIN by 78 pts

GRAND FINAL

(1) Led Heppellin 211 vs (2) Treloar and Order 366

Led Heppellin

DEF: Lloyd, Whitfield, Hurn, Houli, Williams, Laird [Sicily, Naish]

MID: Macrae, Neale, Fyfe, Cripps, Treloar, Oliver,Yeo,Cunnington[M Crouch, Langlands, Scott]

RUCK: Grundy, Gawn [Bines]

FWD: Marshall, Dunkley, Boak, Dangerfield, Kelly,Heeney[I Hill, Young]

Last two weeks trades:

OUT: Clarke, Logue Hanrahan, Hind

IN: Cunnington, Houli, Langlands, I Hill

SERIOUSLY?!?!?! Sicily at D7 and M Crouch at M9. Holy cow that’s an impressive team. Being able to loophole Sicily vs Laird down back is bonkers. Not sure how Led will roll in the mids. Maybe it’ll be bench coverage for a late out or maybe it’ll be Oliver off the bench in case he has a down game against the Pies. Love the introduction of the MCG specialist in Houli to the back line.

Treloar and Order

DEF: Lloyd, Hurn, Laird, Stewart, Sicily, Smith[Logue, Naish]

MID: Macrae, Neale, Cripps, Treloar, Oliver, Gaff, JPK,B Crouch[Clarke, Hind, Stocker]

RUCK: Grundy, Gawn [Bines]

FWD: Marshall, Boak, Dangerfield, Kelly, Walters, Ziebell[Parker, Gardner]

Last two weeks trades:

OUT: ROB, Heeney

IN: Gawn, Ziebell

We could discuss for a long time if ROB to Gawn is a sideways trade or an upgrade, such is the mighty scoring of ROB this season that it’s a hard delineation to make but the point is moot, the trades been made AND with rumours circulating in SA that Sauce will be back this week it looks like the right call by T & O. The other trade, that’s definitely more in the sideways trade category and with both players punching out strong scores last weekend it may be a trade that T & O wishes he had when the upcoming selection carnage no doubt hits us.

MY TIP: When you stack the uniques up in 1v1s it makes some pretty stark reading for T & O who is up against in the SCT Cup Grand Final. Whitfield vs Stewart, Houli vs Smith, Fyfe vs Gaff, Dunkley vs Walters. The only way T & O wins is if one of his lesser players like a B Crouch, JPK or Ziebell goes massive. Barring injuries, I just can’t look past Led Heppellin for the title and I’d tip Led Heppellin to win by a largeish margin too. Kiss of death? Time will tell.

BRONZE MEDAL MATCH

(3) Wedonotoforgive@SCT 39 vs (4) Beckyistheman@SCT 52

Just like there is no actual SCT Cup there is also no bronze medal. It’s metaphoric. Just wanted to clarify that. I tipped it along way out that these two would be playing off in the SCT Cup in rounds 21 and 22. What I failed to foresee was that these two would be the side salad rather than the main meal. There’s still a lot to play for between these two though with Wedonot holding a 56 point buffer over Becky in the hunt for the prize for the highest ranked team in the SCT group with the @SCT suffix. I’d suggest Becky is too far back from the #1 spot in the SCT group, 248pts behind Insert Team Name, but Wedonot is definitely within range at 164pts behind. Remember top spot in the SCT group gets a gig in SCT Premier League 2 in 2020. Lots to play for between these two teams.

5TH/6THPLAYOFF

(5) Rock Coaches 38 vs (6) Nudelsuppe@SCT 1681

The 5th/6thplayoff features #2 in the SCT Group vs Schwarz’s alternate take on the TEAM. Rock Coaches is 151pts behind the tear away leader in the SCT Group and is within striking distance of a withering Insert Team Name to get a guernsey in next year’s SCT Premier League 2. Schwarz is on holidays so Nudelsuppe is rudderless at the moment. Being a SC player and taking holidays in August is akin to being a Carlton supporter taking holidays in September. It’s a sign that you’re not backing yourself in to make the big dance. It’s a sign of defeat really.

7TH/8THPLAYOFF

(7) The Designated SC 1033 vs (8) Kovanator 1681

Not much to talk about here. Playing for pride and a seeding spot for next season’s SCT Cup.

  1. Fantastic Work and effort all year running the SCT Cup RB!

Now I am proud to announce that I will be adding an extra $100 to the current $200 Prize Pool for the winner and runner up of the SCT Cup.

In the Pre-Season one of the biggest contributors at giving out advice to the SCT Community ALLSAINTS laid down the challenge of a $100 side bet that he would finish higher overall in SuperCoach at the end of the year and we decided it would go to the SCT Cup prize pool. Congrats Sainter with you ranked 2k and myself at 9k I am happy to concede defeat.

So I will leave it up to Motts and RB to decide the split of the $300 prize pool between the SCT Cup winner and Runner Up.

    Good Luck to both finalists.

    1. What a bloke you are TDA. My personal opinion is all in for the winner BUT it seems only fitting that things get decided in true SCT style. A thumb war!

  2. TU – All money to the winner
TD – A split of some sort (if this gets up we’ll do a new TU/TD on the split)

    1. As last year’s runner up, I say give it all to the Winner!
      Losing is supposed to hurt.
Winning this is a remarkable feat that deserves rewarding accordingly…

Thanks again RB and the other contributors for your efforts, looking forward to next year.

      1. Gotta agree with you TRUDGE about the moolah but much like the caretaker coach movement, the people have spoken. Let the people have what they want.

        TU – 250 and 50
        TD – 200 and 100
Comment – Motts lets it ride on red at Crown with Ben Simmons

  3. Congrats to led heppelin for trouncing me these last couple of weeks. Been dealt some bad luck with injuries in Ryan and Cameron (the only player on my team I couldn’t cover) but don’t think I would have come close anyway. Cracking team he has got.

Now just hoping my players can return to mid season form and rally to get back on top of the sct group cash prize. No trades is killing me though…
