SCT Programming 2022

Written by Motts on February 18 2022

For almost 13 years SuperCoachTalk has been your go-to website for everything to do with the great game of SuperCoach. Our dedicated, knowledgeable, and generous writers deliver wisdom bombs on a weekly basis that have turned mid-table SC teams into League Champions (and delivered more than a few dollars to the pockets of cash league winners!).

At the beginning of every season, the SCT team works out a post schedule – what’s going to go up on the site, when it’s going to be published, and who’s responsible for writing it so you, our respected Community, know what to expect when you come to us. We’ve never published it before but for 2022 here it is.

The SCT Team

Before we get into it, we’ve had some personnel changes during the off-season that I’d like to take you through.

Three of the team who have given immensely of their time and knowledge over many years have decided to move on in 2022. ThommoChillo, and The Salamander have all been amazing writers who will be deeply missed by all of us. We wish them all the best and hope to see them back on the site from time to time in the Comments section of posts. (Personally, I secretly hope to see them back on the team in 2023.)

But where one door closes, another opens and with that in mind we extend a massive SCT welcome to Freo Tragic and Abs who have been site regulars for years and will now be dishing the gems in our Rare Gems and Fallen Premiums posts. Awesome! Great to have you on the team, fellas!

So that brings the current SCT Writing Team to 9. Here’s who they are and what they’ll be covering for us this year:

  • Motts – Game Chats, Punters Club, and the SCT Twitter account (@SC_Talk)
  • Gunboat Diplomacy (GD) – SCT Leagues Update, Captaincy Candidates, Table For Two, How’d You Go, and Trade Talk
  • Father Dougal (FD) – Cow Talk & Game Chats
  • Dane – Round Review, Polling Station, Last Minute Queries, and Who To Field
  • Alza – Rookie Review and Reserves Review
  • JimmyDee – SCT Tech League and polls
  • Chaos Theory (CT) – Weekly Teams, MRO, Injury Lists, CBA’s & Kick-ins and Coaches Box updates
  • Freo Tragic (FT) – Rare Gems
  • Abs – The Fallen Premiums

I told you it was comprehensive! It’s an unbelievable team and I’m stoked to be on it!

Righto, let’s look at what’ll be going up on each day of the week…

Monday

Monday’s all about capping off the round passed and setting us up for the week’s content. Dane will bring us his comprehensive Round Review where he catalogues the highs, lows, rookies and premos of all nine games. Polling Station will also be up for coaches to pitch their suggestions for the week’s polls, with the most wanted getting put together by JimmyDee. To close out the day, Chaos Theory will have all the news from the MRO and Gunboat Diplomacy will have an update on SCT Leagues and coaches, including the addition of a shout-out “SCT Coach of the Week” who took out the round’s highest score.

Tuesday

Alza kicks things off the with the Rookie Review where the round’s rookie performances, job security and scoring are all expertly broken down. JimmyDee comes in hot with the week’s first poll at midday and Chaos Theory will have all the kick-in and centre bounce attendance data in the afternoon followed by the injury news hot off the presses soon after that.

Wednesday

First thing in the morning, Abs brings us the site favourite Fallen Premiums piece, spotting out where the value is in the dash to full premo. Then at lunch, the rookie content continues with Alza’s hit piece the Reserves Review renewed for another season. Here coaches get all the goss and reports from the reserves leagues and their implications for SC – Tom Highmore was quite the feature in 2021. JimmyDee brings us the week’s final poll in the afternoon and Father Dougal closes out the day with his signature Cow Talk for his unique take on everything cash gen and rookies.

Thursday

Best day of the week, baby, and it’s all happening at SCT! Gunboat Diplomacy serves up the critical Captaincy Candidates, including all the stats for 3x VC’s, 3x C’s, a steer clear and a smoky pick. Freo Tragic takes a break from giving everyone a hand over in the Trade Talk thread and gets to work on his beloved PODs for Rare Gems, dedicated to juicy options under a specific ownership threshold who can inject some life into your side. And then the man of the hour with the news we’ve been waiting all week for: Chaos Theory drops the Thursday night Weekly Teams quicker than the AFL app! Seriously, no website gets the teams up faster.

Friday

It all kicks on off on Friday but before the first bounce we’ve got a bunch of great posts to help coaches make those tough decisions: Table For Two where binary options are put to the Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down off the community, Last Minute Queries for a little more in depth assistance and then the new Who To Field, basically a T.U/T.D for those on field rookie coin flips. All these posts will be pinned to the top of the site for the weekend. Then, of course, there’s the Friday Game Chat for all banter, fantasy relevance and chatting that come with watching the footy and running a SC side.

Saturday

A little Punters Club action from Motts and his merry band of flutterers in the a.m. and then Bang! A Game Chat for the every Saturday match to keep the party rolling.

Sunday

Game Chats for the remaining, often crucial, matches to go and then How Did You Go? to shout out your score, rank and captain to compare yourself with other coaches. That’s shortly followed by the hottest post on the site, Trade Talk, to workshop your trades for the week. It will remained pinned to the top of the site till the next round kicks off. JimmyDee also pops up with some Tech League content for those looking to prove they’re the best at this game because everybody starts with exactly the same team.

So there you go! In 2022 SCT will once again be covering every aspect of the game making us your one-stop-shop for all things SuperCoach!

Bring on what promises to be another terrific season!

  1. definitely no “Fallen Premiums” in the new-look revamped SCT Writing Team! Line-up looks solid indeed!
I’ve had a scroll through ” Join my League” …all are full of course, but I did not see any link for SCT Leagues yet, any info when we might have the opportunity to join any of them?

  2. There’s always been an amazing team to be found on SCT, with great analytics, articles & overall culture!

To be apart of that is humbling 🙂

Won’t be an easy task to fill Chillo’s boots; but I’ll be trying to do ‘Fallen Premiums’ justice and keep what was always so great about that article alive!

Best of luck to everyone for the upcoming season, hopefully Captain Darcy can bless you all!
