ShePlays AFLW Fantasy: Finals Edition

Written by The Salamander on April 1 2021

As you might have inferred from the title, ShePlays has a new competition going, but before I get to that, it would be remiss of me not to congratulate Stephen247 for not only finishing at the top of the official SCT group…

…but also winning the overall home-and-away competition!

Not only that, but all of the top three, and five of the top ten, came from SuperCoach Talk. Perhaps this shouldn’t be surprising, since we’ve been doing some form of AFLW Fantasy here since 2018.

So anyway, the new competition: some of you may remember a few years back when they used to do a Finals version of SuperCoach. This is like that.

If you’ve already been playing the ShePlays AFLW Fantasy competition, all you have to do is head over to the leagues section and enter the league code finals (all lowercase).

If you’ve been watching on from the sidelines this season and have been curious to see what AFLW Fantasy is all about, now’s a great chance to sign up and give it a crack. Be sure to enter the league code finals after you’ve signed up. Also make sure to press ‘Save’ once you’ve put your team together.

So, how does the game work? It’s basically the same as it was before, but you now have unlimited trades each week, and no limit on the number of players from any one club. Oh, and with the games to be played on a Saturday each week, you won’t have to worry about the lockout happening before all the teams have been announced. 😉

Speaking of the lockout, it’s at 12:05 PM AEDT on Saturday this week.

Finally, you’ll probably be wanting to look over the scores from this season while you work out who to pick. The following spreadsheet has you covered:

Season2021

All of the data contained within is also up on the ShePlays website, but the spreadsheet puts it all in one convenient place. If anyone wants to dig a bit deeper, I also have the raw data that went into calculating the scores. It’s not in spreadsheet format, but if there’s enough interest, I can try and put it all into one. Otherwise, I’m happy to send you the data as-is. Let me know in the comments if you’re interested.

Best of luck to all who get involved over the next few weeks!
