Shuey v Boak

Written by Motts on February 14 2012

Luke Shuey – 21 years old, third year in the league, hardnut midfielder who runs all day, broke out last year playing all 22 games and averaging 94, 2011 season high score: 154, 2011 season low: 59, 9 tons during the year.

Travis Boak – 23 years old, Top 5 pick in the 2006 draft,ย sixth year in the league, silky smooth midfielder who gets a ton of it, played 21 games last year averaging 90,ย 2011 season high score: 156, 2011 season low: 50, 4 tons during the year (& 3 scores of 99).

Which one would you advise a midprice strategist to take?

  1. I feel Shuey is well overpriced for $513k, in comparison to other folk in that bracket… I also feel Boak would go close to being a gun if he had some help in the midfield, and someone up forward to kick to.

  2. As much as BigRuss loves shuey, he loves his boy in teal that much more. Boak could go top 10 with the assistance Big Sexy described.

  3. Had boak last year and he cost me, so I’ll have neither. Although Shuey is being called the next Judd and breaking all kinds of records, I won’t be surprised to see him avg over 100

  4. Well said Big Sexy about Boak. To me he’s a gun, always gets the hard tag at the Power and gives his all. No doubt if he was in a Cat, Magpie or Hawks guernsey to name a few his score would be alot higher because of the talent in their midfields. Nevertheless I’m glad he’s at the Power, although currently I don’t have him in my side, love watching him every week. As for Shuey he is a talent as well, but too pricey for me.

  5. I have neither in my team but if I had to choose one I would go Boak. I think teams will pay WCE a lot more attention this year after their standout season last year. I think Shuey will get some close attention this season and I am not expecting his output to be as productive. Boak seres more creative to me and been in the system longer to deal with close checking so i expect another consistent year. Just can’t find room in my midfield
