Sunday Arvo Games R23, 2013

Written by MJ on September 1 2013

Gold Coast v GWS (MS) – Gary Ablett has one last chance to make amends for the last month of disappointing captaincy efforts. I’m backing him in for a huge one by sticking the C on him in my GF. He boasts scores of 125, 125 and 160 against the Giants in previous outings. Not much other interest in this one apart from Dixon and McKenzie who will be featuring in a few squads.

Collingwood v North Melbourne (MCG) – As always, the Pies give us a good selection of premiums to feast our eyes on today. I’ve got Swan, Pendles, Beams, Shaw and Goldstein in this one. Who are you cheering on, and are you captaining a Collingwood mid over GAJ?

Western Bulldogs v Melbourne (Etihad) – The final game of the H&A season and the last game before the dust settles on another SuperCoach season. Will Minson and Griffen hand you eternal SC Premiership Glory?

Lastly, for all the fathers on the site I hope you are treated to a ripper day by the ones you love.
We may have SC Grand Finals to worry about, but lets make sure we get right around the Dads today!

  1. Crouch got 122 and I can still adopt the emergency loophole! Problem is I have Swan, Pendlebury, Griffen and Ablett playing in the midfield. Do I even bother subbing any of them off?

T/U: Leave it- they all will/should score more than Crouch
T/D: Bank Crouch’s 122- GAJ has been down on form, and even if he does outscore Crouch, it won’t be by much, so send him to the pine

Comment if you think you have a strong case regarding subbing either Griffin, Pendlebury or Swan out… but I can see Ablett as the only realistic option to sub off given his past few weeks.

  2. Im 228 behind my opponent and have 3 players to play – Griffen, Goldy and Dixon.

T/U Take Vlastuin score of 83 and bench Dixon – Goldy and Griffen only have to score 145 between them
T/D Roll the dice on Dixon – he should smash GWS

  3. opponent has gaz as C (selwood VC), and I have Selwood VC (Hrovat C)
    Should I……………………….
T/U: Take Selwood’s 127, Whiley will be all over Gaz
T/U: Cancel out Gaz, he will score 150+

btw I am predicted to win by about 50, but my opponent has Minson who could go nuts?!?!?!?!?!

  4. Who else feels uncomfortable watching GC when your opponent has GAJ as C and you took Selwood’s VC. Just kicked his 2nd & i may have kicked the biggest OG of the season!!

  5. Got knocked out by 13 last week so my captain choice wasn’t too important, so I decided I’d give Gaz a chance to redeem himself. He has been the best all year and it is paying off. 131 at 3 quarter time. You’d be mad not to field him!

  6. Even though you left Geelong I still love you little man!

Not taking the C on him may get me over the line vs my opponent who has looked a shoe in since the first game (he switched the C to Pendles last night, so will be pending how that game ends plus some other results to finalize).
